RE: A New Star Wars game? (Legends of The Old Republic (Name pending))
@seraphim73 I was thinking of going 4 groups and allowing people to have one alt in each group with one alt that is their 'main' being at level 8. I intend on enforcing the stricter requirements on people apping 8, but you know how intentions go when the tires hit the road. The 4 factions I was looking at are Sith, Jedi, Mandalorians, and Indies. Not to spread things too thin but just to give some variety. So the Jedi are at war with the Mando, and the Sith, the Sith at war with the Jedi and Mano, and the Mando at war with the Jedi and Sith. Just as an idea. Again most of what this thread is for is testing out ideas and getting feedback while I work on the game.

B-b-bbbut @Auspice ! You made his boner sad.
That's practically a war crime, you heinous bitch!
Nobody wants a sad boner. :<
As a mostly-straight woman who really likes dick, can confirm. I generally prefer happy boners. Perky, even.
9/10 straight women agree: Happy boners best boner. Angry boners come in at number two, and way at the bottom of the pack, nobodies favorite: Sad boners. Poor, poor sad boners. No body wins with a sad boner. T-T

RE: What's missing in MUSHdom?

RE: A New Star Wars game? (Legends of The Old Republic (Name pending))
@mercutio The thing is, there's a big part of me that wants to focus on the people who did have a reason to be a part of the Mandalorian war, make the game more focused by requiring characters to have some connection to the war. I think by having everyone having picked a side one way or another or just plain being connected to it you've got some built in plot hooks right off the bat. But that's just me.

RE: Real life versus online behaviors
@auspice Sarcastic statement: The solution is obvious. We all start talking like hk-47.

RE: A New Star Wars game? (Legends of The Old Republic (Name pending))
Well I was thinking if we go end of the Mandalorian war we'd start with Independent Mandalorian, and Jedi/republic for our three factions, then after the time jump switch over to Sith, Jedi, Independent.

RE: Star Trek: Dreadnought Atlas (Name Pending, TOS game)
@faraday May sound silly, but I honestly didn't know there are. For some reason in my head Ares is 'the FS3 engine' Didn't even think about there being different ones for it.

RE: DC : Gods and Monsters MUX
Oh my comment was supposed to just be a lighthearted jab not a 'tantrum' as some people put it. I love this game, guess that didn't come across clearly in my joking around. Personally I just blame it being posted after a very long day at work and as such not being my A material.

RE: Star Trek: Dreadnought Atlas (Name Pending, TOS game)
Server purchased. Ares is being installed now comes the configuration part and the actually getting it ready for launch bit. Then I get to make it all nice and pretyty to look like.

RE: [NOW OPEN] Titanic Two-Tone Tales: Noir (Superhero Mush)
Gotta say this first week of launch has been a blast. We don't have very many players so far but we've been able to stamp out a lot of bugs and get the system a bit more solidified. Added a +staff code so people can see who does what on staff, +roster Code so people can see who's open and who's taken, and we're steadily working to make chargen better, and easier to understand every day. I'm very glad we've managed to get a handful of very active players who are doing their best to make the place a blast to play, and want to thank those of you who've stopped in to check it out.
Even those of you who left once you found out we're using a dice and point buy system for chargen. If people are interested I can make proper builds of different characters for people to just snag from the roster if chargen is a bit too complicated for folks so you can just slap a background on em and call it a day.

RE: Spitballing for a supers Mush
After taking feeback onboard, doing some self reflection and just looking at what I want I've come to a decision.
I am going to try a game concept that I've wanted to do for ages but been afraid to do. Shadowrun Superheroes.
Is it an idea everyone will like? Of course not. Is it a good idea? Hell no. Do I want to do it? Damn right I do, more then almost anything else in mushing.
Set it 2050, toss down my usual DC and Metropolis grid get some clear easy to understand baselines for what people can and can't play. Dragons running megacorps fantasy creatures hardwired internet cyberaugmentations.
Again, it's a terrible idea but I am going to at the very damn least write it up.

RE: [NOW OPEN] Titanic Two-Tone Tales: Noir (Take 2)
@Auspice Did just want to say that the reason we're not using our old art is because another community took the one I had origionally gotten made for the game when I last tried to launch it and then used it themselves so I went and commissioned a brand new artpeice for the site. Soon as I get the art back from the artist I'll happy swap out the placeholder art and get things lookin a bit better.

RE: ISO: a comics/superheroes MU* (give me your recs)
Superheroes as a genre of mushing is in a fairly rough state of late. It's hard to find a really active game that can capture the imagination.
I run 4T, and it's got some good rp but right now it's a bit small the christmas season having slown things down as people were eaten by real life, but we try to make sure people who want and ask for RP can actually get it.
I'm honestly suprised at the state of Super Hero games in general. It seems such an easy concept to get right, throw some adventures out into the wind run some bigger stories for people to sink their teeth into and smaller stuff for just fodder for idea crafting and you're golden.
We live in interesting times. when it seems there's no reliable way to get super heroes right.

Comic Noir Game
If people want to get in direct contact with me personally in order to get the IP for the game, or to volunteer for a staff position (We're always looking for more staff!) You can contact me at Dayshark115(at)Gmail(dot)com. I check my email frequently and will get around to responding as quickly as I can. Though I would prefer people ask questions on this thread as opposed to filling my inbox or private messages with them.
Our game's wiki can be found HERE: http://4tmu.wikia.com Come on by and check things out. I'm updating it as often as I can with new information about the world of our game!
Hello everyone! So this is more a gauge for interest then anything else, I want to get a feel for how the community feels about the general concept, and my basic plans for this mush as well as answer whatever questions I can.
So as some people may be aware I've been working on a Superhero mush on and off in some capacity since mid 2000. There's been a good few false starts, restarts, and beginning from scratch along the way. However this time I'd really like to do my absolute best to stick with it come hell or high water to see for a fact that this game at the very least see's a closed beta by the end of the year.
The concept to put it simply is: What would happen if the golden age of heroes happened in World War 1 instead of 2?
The world's history is essentially the same as our own real world history up to April 15th 1912 when the RMS Titanic is saved from sinking by the worlds first caped crime-fighter, (currently it's been decided that hero was Superman, but that may change as work progresses on the timeline) following his daring rescue people around the world are inspired by his actions to take up costumes of their own to help protect the people around them.
The sensation spreads like wildfire to every corner of the globe and soon costumed criminals join the fray, wanting their own piece of the action. Governments in fear of the Superman and the costumed heroes begin top secret projects to create a superman of their own in the event he should go rogue, the successes in these projects combined with the actions of the 'minutemen', and the emergence of naturally born super humans known as mutants lead to the start of the Golden Age of Heroes. It was a time of wonderful technological advancement and social progress spurned on by the ever growing population of powered individuals born or created.
Warfare grew more devastating with super powered soldiers leveling entire cities, and sometimes entire nations in their fighting. Every nation had their own 'superman' ready to defend their borders.
Tensions raised as territories changed hands in the wake of battles more devastating then ever before, leading nations to band together to protect themselves eventually splitting between the Central and Allied powers, two massive alliances of nations dedicated to protecting their own. In July of 1914 open war was officially declared between the two mighty powers.
The war spanned the entire globe leading to massive destruction on all fronts as the worlds supermen fought to the death. The war ended in November of 1918 with one final massive devastating battle between the two sides, the second Battle of the Sambre. The Allied powers found themselves a Pyrrhic victory over the central powers leaving France in its entirety a no mans land and a majority of the super soldiers on both sides dead from the battle.
The game takes place several years after the final battle of The Great War in what was once the city of New York, now split into the twin cities of Gotham, (The Rotten Apple) and Metropolis (The City of Tomorrow).
The golden age of heroes has come to an end, and most of the world has been rendered completely uninhabitable from the conflict. Nations have risen and fallen giving way to many of the fictional nations found in DC and Marvel continuity, and a majority of the worlds population has perished either as soldiers, collateral, or from starvation due to completely collapsed infrastructure.
It's a dark and hopeless time for many, with a good deal considering it the end of days, but it proves fertile ground for a new generation of heroes to take up the mantels of the fallen, and bring fourth a new age of heroes to mankind!
Edit: We are looking for staff to help get this project rolling if anyone out there is interested in signing on for the project. Currently it's a two man team, myself and my coder. We've got a second coder who's willing to help if need be but he's more on standby then actively coding for the game.
We're mostly just looking for Theme Staff, Wiki Staff, and Builders to help make things move along a bit faster, we're also not going to turn away help from any coders out there that might want to join in on the fun, assuming they're at least mostly sane.
While the game WILL get finished and launched without those staff if it's needed, (I'm refusing to give up on this project this time around) it would go much more smoothly, and launch faster with more people around to help take a bit of the load off me. We'd also be fine with people who want to be app staff when it launches speaking up, or help staff, but we're still a good ways away from launch with just two of us working on the project.
