Can you tell me where Stevelik was two nights ago?

Witness #236 says, "I saw Stevelik picking a lock in his own room six years ago."

      No, two nights ago.

Witness #568 says, "I saw him having sex with a prostitute two years ago."
Witness #569 says, "I saw him having sex with the same prostitute ten minutes later."

I mostly remember the weird coded bits.

      • If you drank too much, you could get teleported to a random room on the grid.

      • ritual/eesha <target> - Sex code

      • ritual/threesha <target> <target> - Joke code for a threesome that didn't actually do anything except return some sort of joke response.

      • amiavirgin - Told you if your character was a virgin or not

      • amiavirgin/ooc - Joke code that would respond with some joke answer that implied that, yes, you are a sad, pathetic, virgin loser. Lol.

      • Food, EP (energy points), and ERP (energy reserve points).

      • Being able to poison said food.

      • Stealthing into rooms and hiding once in them.

      • Calling witnesses.

      • Coded hair growth and haircuts.

      • Coded hygiene and bathing.

      • The rooftop code was pretty awesome.

I wanna say there was a coded poker game, and there was the simple Risk style game that was coded. Clan Wars I think it was called.

While I love the setting and the characters in Hades, I find the pacing and game design to be a little lacking. Only three levels and they shoot up in difficulty very quickly. I preferred Enter the Gungeon's five.

I have the same problem with wealthy blowhards. I got these families in Montecito with their gated homes who are refusing service. Sucks to be them, though, as I know where they work and California law allows you to serve a workplace as substituted service in lieu of personal service. So now the workplace will hopefully be gossiping about how rich douchebag is getting fined by the County.

      New lawyer peeve:

Judges who do not apply the same standards to pro se litigants as they do to attorneys regarding the rules of procedure.

I can get behind this a little bit. Legal procedures have become arcane and byzantine to the level of a religion over years of traditions and formalities have built on top of themselves. I mean, who says Oyez anymore other than in the US Supreme Court? Going "Alright, you haven't had three years of law school to train you on how to do things, so we will let some stuff slide. I mean you're going to lose anyways, because only an idiot does things pro se."

      @Ganymede

I find it hilarious actually in a twisted dark humor manner. People are dying of COVID, police brutality, and a myriad of other problems that financial infusions could help, and you have these rich knobs throwing gobs of money at ways to harass their neighbors.

Discussion of Ohio places has summoned me.

This is a wealthy suburb. With purportedly educated people. Who just want to ask irrelevant question after irrelevant question about a very basic principle of property ownership.

JFC, these motherfuckers are too damn stupid to live.

      I mean, here. Live here.

      Honest.

I will do you one better. I am the sole Code Enforcement officer for South Santa Barbara County. When the rich fucks in Montecito complain about their neighbors building a shed or trimming a hedge too much, I am the one who gets to knock on Oprah Winfrey or Prince Harry's door to perform a site inspection. I even had one guy hire an attorney to file his complaint (a form that consists mainly of address of violation, description of violation, violator's name, your contact info) and the complaint came as a 30+ page packet with things labelled Exhibit A through P.

I have supported this project since you first mentioned it. Modern Fantasy MIB has been a theme I have been interested in for a long time. I look forward to seeing the results.

Thank you for the well wishes, everyone. I am in Santa Barbara working for the County of Santa Barbara in code enforcement. If you're ever in town, say "hi."

@Ganymede said in RL things I love:

Let us know how it goes, yeah? Also, avoid fires.

I am on the coast, and no fires here so far. The fires have a couple of mountains ranges to get over first, which is possible but helps a bit.

Made it to California with all the stuff I didn't throw away crammed into my car. Started my job and I think I can do it. Got a 6-month lease and am moving in. Cross your fingers and knock on wood, but things seem to be working out.

My friend used to work at UPS as a loader/unloader at Worldport after he got his Ph.D. and was trying to find work, and he warned me to never put "Fragile" on anything, because it will get the extra rough treatment.

I am driving towards the burning coast this week, and today I drove through the Texas and New Mexico and it was 35 degrees F from 1 to 5 pm. I am not from this area, but I suspect those temperatures at that time of day is very odd.
