Cutting off my terrible family (they kicked me out at 16 for being queer), especially after they pulled the 'I'm praying for you', crap, was the best decision I ever made. Every time I've second-guessed it, I've been reminded why. (Not even my then-terminal cancer diagnosis got any decent response from them, so now I don't second-guess.)
It's normal to want to be treated decently by your blood relatives, but don't let wishful thinking open you up to further abuse. Find people who WILL treat you kindly instead.
You're the one who controls the character, so you're the one who can make new motivations feel ic, or at least pick some plausible ones.
Yes, that may be annoying, but even in real life people's unpleasantness sometimes forces us to re-evaluate what we'd do.

@Lisse24 @meg For F&L, if you +hangout a place specifically, say +hangout sakana, it will give you info about the place, but only if you do that specifically.
If Theno wants to put in a 'bar, vamp hangout', 'Aquarium, elysium', field, that would be fine by me. We've added code bits and UI improvements at player request before, just ask.
If there are kinds of places you want to see, also ask/offer to build. I am happy to update the grid for more rp hooks.
I need to do a new pass over the descs of some of the hangouts, and build some of the nastier parts of north Vegas, for folks who like crime-ridden alleys and high-danger hotspots. I will also be building out part of the further edges of the freehold over the weekend, and may add an undercity room or two more. The next week will see some off-Strip expansion anyway.

If you sneak food into a theatre, sneak the wrappers/bags back out when you leave, or the lowest folks on the food chain there will get bitched out by their supervisors and/or fired. Sone folks like to leave stuff behind as a nyah nyah but it's those who don't have any say about it who get punished.
Both players should quit: one for playing a shitty stereotype, and the other for lying about trying to rile up the forum against him.
@Auspice english is my second language and I'm not from the US, so with spoken words I sometimes either get it wrong or have to ask, even if I've used that word in text for a while.
You can hate something without going all postal on it, you know.
At the very least, though, they need to stop internalising it, which you know is exactly what I meant, but you keep fighting the good fight against something I never said. I assume it brings some meaning to you.
Need to talk to SD about this when stuff RL is a little less hectic. O.O
