It was Daranos' player that wrote the program and I'm not sure if he's still supporting it/working on it or not. It was much better than A2A however, which was the standard 16 colour one which everyone used.

I know Daranos' player reads this forum, so you could put maybe put a shout out for him.

In Tempest's case, I'm guessing staff concluded she'd not be back with the character as she'd been 'pseudo invited' not to continue playing. The character was political style, which means you sign up to having shit happen without consent.

From Requiem for Kingsmouth policy as stated on the wiki:

4.3. Characters will be designated inactive after two weeks of inactivity.

If you're going to be idle, there are ways to let staff know you're temporarily unable to play, or that you intend to come back. If you don't like a game's policy, perhaps you shouldn't play there. If you don't want your character used as an NPC, give the character an IC ending.

Sounds like a bit of an asinine policy (and not one I've ever heard of being used anywhere else, with the exception of people who disappear amidst IC conflict), and I'm assuming it's designed to let staff take shots at people they don't like.

I'm pretty positive it's nothing personal given the wide spread of PC's that have been nuked that way.

Ah. Any character that isn't given an IC reason for not being around and having left the city becomes fodder for use in plotlines etc. There have been numerous idled out characters that got killed off in plottage.

Blimey, you all make things so complicated. I only play on TR, but when I'm being unsociable I just +watch/hide and +watch/per to allow friends or whomever to be aware of my connections. It's worked perfectly fine so far..
