I enjoyed our one scene together with Quenia and Svana, I'd like to RP more with you at some point.
I'm glad you enjoyed our scene together! I really need to get Quenia out more, but with everything going on I RP in fits and spurts as I have energy to do. Hopefully soon though!!

Now that I'm on Arx, I finally have the chance to RP with Raemira again. If we do it in a year, we could celebrate our 25th anniversary from the date we first RPed together.
OH GODS WE'RE OLD.
LOL. I started online gaming Spring of 1993, sophomore year in college. I was introduced to LegendMUD then, and it was still in alpha.
Pretty sure we've both come a long way since we've been playing!
Also, I GM from time to time as either Lou or Quenia on the game, so maybe we'll get to RP in more than one way

RE: Raemira's Playlist
@SinCerely Oh, cool! Nice to see a fellow Legendite out there. I still jump in as Lirra from time to time to talk to the staff. And I occasionally pull out Lark, but those characters are from, like, 1993 - spring 1995 before I moved on to MUSHing

RE: Raemira's Playlist
Updated to push Ithir characters to the past category and add Spirit Lake character.

RE: Etsy
@surreality A friend of mine turned me onto this all in one Light Box: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01GIL6EU4/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
I purchased it and it's made a whole world of difference in creating photographs for jewelry products, and all I have to do now is play with settings and there's not much editing that needs to be done anymore. Maybe just a few tweaks editing it in raw. I've been playing with it since I got it it in December, and now I just need to sit down with a tripod and get serious about creating photos.

RE: Etsy
@surreality I'm not intending to take my stuff off of Etsy, just because of that one article. The main complaint has some truth to it, but there's also some misinformation being spread in the author's articles. I'd join a group like Artisan Indie - https://www.facebook.com/groups/TheJoyfulEntrepreneur/ - which focuses on business development and management for Makers. The owner of the group sometimes does Facebook Live videos that teach people the best business practices, and talks about the changes and happenings going on within Etsy, Amazon Handmade, Shopify and other eCommerce locations (https://www.facebook.com/groups/TheJoyfulEntrepreneur/videos/). The peers there also help each other out and give recommendations.

RE: Etsy
@Taika You won't have to pay that $39.99/month unless you decide to do something outside of the 'Handmade' category - like sell used books or wholesale retail goods or the like. You'll just have to pay the commissions, credit card processing feels, and shipping. And yeah, having Amazon drive customers is definitely good - plus you can filter things to the Amazon warehouses for FBA orders (aka, Prime Customers). I know someone selling keychains and another selling lockets this way.

RE: Etsy
I had to go check out the article as I've been ignoring my Etsy shop for the last little while, outside of checking for orders. I didn't have that happen to me, but that doesn't invalidate what happened to others, and that sucks.
Quite a few people I know are having success with Amazon Handmade. Their seller fees / commissions are a bit higher than Etsy, but right now they are not charging anyone who sells in the Handmade only category for their professional seller fees (usually $39.99/month) so long as you are selling in the Handmade category. It seems they keep pushing that deadline back each year when they open new categories. They've waived the professional fees since the program started. I think they've come to understand that selling Handmade is not entirely the same as selling retail.
You can find out more about Amazon Handmade here: https://services.amazon.com/handmade/

RE: Atlantis Client
@wahoo I've confirmed with @Sparks that Atlantis will work on Mojave, but the next OS after that will require Atlantis 2 - which she's working toward. So, if you're on the beta of the next OS, you're not going to be able to use Atlantis until she gets the next version available.

RE: Raemira's Playlist
Updated to include the one MUD I played that got me started MU'ing in the first place. Interestingly enough, they did RP there. Oh, how far I've come since the days of one line emotes / emits.

RE: Wheel of Time
The beauty of the Wheel of Time theme is that there are alternate worlds / dimensions (via the portals) and that you can create any setting / background / history you want because those worlds each have their own. That means the main characters from the books don't ever have to exist, and you can plop things down in any timeline format you want.

RE: Constructive (keyword) Criticism of Arx Systems
@jeshin said in Constructive (keyword) Criticism of Arx Systems:
System Question
The Clue systems primary issue appeared to be creating to much overhead work for staff to continue to generate clues. The new system basically sets it so that if 5+ people know a clue you have very good odds of uncovering it in a short timeframe. It does however push new clues further out. With this adjustment to the rate of new clue generation will staff be maintaining the same clue writing style or will they be shifting towards a less is more approach where clues are perhaps more substantive than they have been in the past? I know some clues are very helpful but other clues seem more tidbits or very vague meant to either lead players to ask around or continue their investigation for more clues to create the lattice of understanding. That bread crumb approach would (from an outside observer) appear to create staff overhead too since someone might keep investigating the same issue for months and be needing new clues along the way if it's untread or lightly tread ground.
My understanding is with the new clue system is that when they are generating that new clue for you, they are also generating a whole subset of clues to be discovered, not just one clue, so that you can continue researching that shiny new thing you're looking into and maybe get more information or point you to different plots, or a whole new plot thread in general. That's why new clues are being pushed back further, so they have the time to write all the good tidbits for you. That's partly why they introduced the ability to @investigate/tags Clue: #ofClue - so you can delve into further information into what you discovered, and it can look at the tags of your new clue and try to match it to other tags. It's not guaranteed you'll get that juicy newness after that initial new clue right away - you could get something else matching the tags of that clue, but you'll eventually get the relevant information you are looking for.
