Quiche - that isn't really - but totally is

Pastry crust (I can give you a vegan recipe or you can buy one)
4 tablespoons olive oil (I like cold pressed)
1 pound of asparagus (get rid of the rough ends, cut 1/2 inch length)
(I use the tips of four of them for garnish)
2 shallots (peeled and coarse chopped)
3 cloves of garlic (I sometimes add more, but I have a garlic addiction)
      1 cup of walnuts
1.5 cups cooked navy beans (you can sub a 15 oz can)
      .5 cup loosely packed tarragon
      2 tablespoons finely chopped tarragon
      2 tablespoons of cornstarch
.75 (3/4 but I started the . stuff) teaspoon salt (I like pink Himalayan)
.25 (1/4) teaspoon ground nutmeg (buy it, it's annoying to ground yourself)
black pepper to your desired taste (I usually end up with a teaspoon)
.33 (1/3) cup of wheat bread crumbs (if you are avoiding this there are vegan alternatives to this too, like Ezekiel bread)
4 slices of beefsteak tomatoes (you can use Holland too - Use BIG ones)

Preheat a large skillet over medium-high heat.
Sauté asparagus in tablespoon of oil, stirring every now and then for 7 minutes (approximately)
Meanwhile grab a food processor and prepare to process!
Toss walnuts (I like to try to toss them in from across the room - not really), 1/4 c tarragon, nutmeg, salt, and pepper in that machinery. Turn it on and run it like a boss. Or until the walnuts are into crumbles (walnut meat)
Put the asparagus into a shallow bowl for a time out while you saute the shallots in a tablespoon of oil around 3 minutes.
Add in garlic for another 3 minutes (don't burn it - it makes it bitter and smells bad)
Put all these things (shallots and garlic) in with the asparagus. When they have chilled out (aka stopped steaming) add them to the food processor, pulse a few times.
Add beans and make a puree
Sift the cornstarch if it's lumpy to make it fine (soooo fine) and pulse (I find techno music helps with this)
Toss all this back into the time out bowl, cover and put in the fridge for 45 minutes.
Oh yeah, probably turn off the stove if you haven't.

      Preheat oven to 350

Prepare the pastry dough. I use a 15 inch pie pan thing. I cover it with foil and bake it 15 minutes

Take the vegetable/walnut mixture from the fridge. Put it in the shell. Sprinkle the top with half the bread crumbs. and drizzle with a tablespoon of olive oil. Arrange the tomato slices on top (channel your inner Bob Ross - Happy tomatoes)
Put the rest of the bread crumbs on those happy tomatoes, a touch of salt, some fresh pepper, the chopped tarragon, drizzle with the remaining tablespoon of olive oil.
      Bake 45 minutes
You should let it cool 20 minutes, but I never do. I get hungry.

Are you looking for one pot dishes? desserts? dinners? I use to be vegan (I missed bacon and am not now), so I have more than a few in my wheelhouse.

@RightMeow Always assume people are going to be at least a little shitty. You're usually right, and when you're wrong it's a pleasant surprise.

      This just makes me sad.

@Tinuviel I think it will always be a surprise to me. I mean, I tend to always think better of people. That just sucks though.

      (Double Post - Not Sorry)

So this is probably a lame thing, but still. I've been so out of sorts RL. I'm not going to bore with details. I took off the entire weekend paid to just have time off. I woke up today. Then I proceeded to clean the house and make dinner, etc. I got so much done and I just feel really accomplished outside of my work life. It's been awhile since I felt like that. So RL thing I love today.

@silverfox Or when you are a teenage girl who's already being shamed for having sex and now this. Or really anyone. I'm a grown ass woman and I still get looks when I buy condoms.

    • RE: RL Anger

Wait, there's a person on here that shares RL personal stuff? Like a person's sex life? Moreover, why is anyone else bringing it up or commenting on it? Unless they are involved, what people do (who they do) is their own damn business.

Also, I don't know. Part of me is sad to not have sipped some tea. The rest of me stays with the first comment. Ain't my business.

So @Auspice You sex on. However you want and with whom you want.

@Tinuviel Well... see. You said it depends what I put -IN- my whiskey and then said she wouldn't forgive for the Pepsi incident. So something put in Pepsi....

It's been a long week/year. I promise it made sense and was inappropriately funny. SHEESH. Okay, probably not, but I tried?

Oh honey.... I'm not going to win with that tale. It will go like this:

RightMeow went out in the world looking for a sordid tale.
Then she realized sleep was inclined.
So on this quest she did completely fail.
But a lust for sleeping is how she was designed.

Did this do it for you? Maybe you could go cuff someone, drag them back, explain to me how to do this, and THEN we could have our TS tale. ❤

@Auspice I like cats, wine is iffy. I'm more a whiskey drinker or a shots taker. Do I -have- to have a sordid tale? The year's almost over and it seems like a lot of work.

    • RE: Your 'Wait I wasn't planning that...' Moment

My entire life.. oh wait.. sorry, you meant IC. Oh sorry. Yeah.

I once (a million years ago when I would still ST) had this huge arc of small little plants. I ran the first one. Everything was fine. I got over confident at my awesomeness and ran the second one. A player managed to figure out what my big bad was (and meant knew the way to kill it). The other PC's thought this player was stupid insane and wrong. I neither encouraged nor discouraged. I secretly hoped mob mentality would win out (don't judge me). The player rolled a convince type roll, convinced them to at least try it.

      BOOM.

Plot over. It was OOC hilarious. I think I might have laughed cried while I tried to come up with another avenue. I gave the player MAD props though. They figured it out. Stood their ground. Everything stayed IC, even the disagreements. It was a beautiful, beautiful mess.

@Herja Oh hon! I went through that last year and the holidays. I didn't expect it either. Just know it's okay and reach out however you need to, so that you feel better.

      It's okay to be affected.

I'll keep you in my thoughts. Because it does suck and I understand.

IRL - I manage people. That seems vague enough for no real details. However, this week has just sucked. I drove 1 hour each way to find a meeting was cancelled that no one told me about. I had 'adult beverages' and someone said I should come into work, even though I did my like 10+ hours already and they knew I wasn't fully sober. My team have been in-fighting like they are 4 years old and only one kid got the new unicorn toy. Not my best 'manager' moment of this happening:

Team Person Who Always Does Bare Minimum With EyeRolls: "I don't appreciate you snapped at me yesterday."
Me: I don't appreciate you didn't do your job at all yesterday.
      T: …
T: Or that you were late getting into work.
Me: You mean getting that thing done at another area so you can get paid?
      T: …
      T: You shouldn't have snapped.
Me: You should try doing your job.

Yeah, I might be burnt out. But comeon, stop in-fighting like toddlers.

Because they have to withstand being slammed against hard surfaces with a half ton of weight over them for mile after mile.

This is why I'm demanding expensive presents IRL.

@Auspice Okay. I'm getting in line, but um.. well. If I have to be a dude, I'm either going to helicopter that dick, or pose it not getting hard. Then I'm going to say that it's never happened before. It must be the stress at work. I swear I'm a grower not a show'er. It must be really cold. I have a good personality?

Do I get in the top three?

I know nothing of any sportsball things. But can I say I giggled at it being in 'tastes less gamey' - Like comeon, it's sports. It is a game.

I know it means not MU*, but it still made me giggle.
