I liked DA2 but only when Hawke was being sarcastic. That saved the game after the first time I realized that the maps for each dungeon WAS EXACTLY THE SAME. I know it sounds trivial but that really did not settle well with me at all. Why would they be so lazy as to use the same map, down to the vegetation textures, over and over again? Did they think that if they blocked off one door with a stone wall, we wouldn't notice?

I'm sure they were super aware everyone would notice. The game was notoriously rushed out with immense pressure from EA after they bought BioWare, so. The constant map repetition does suck, I'll give you (and everyone else) that. But for me that's like literally my only complaint about the entire game, so compared to my favorite companions ever and my favorite story ever, it becomes a lot less important for me.

DA2 is the best game in the whole trilogy and you'll never take that away from me!

I do think that ME3 is the best of that trilogy because for me it was a near-perfect game until the last twenty minutes.

Okay? Certainly it's been a big topic of conversation across the board for the show. I was just reacting to Wizz reacting "live" to the storyline. I wasn't trying to claim being the first person on the thread talking about it being a rough bit to watch.

Sorry! I probably shouldn't have looked at anything involved other people today. I was super cranky earlier.

It was really, really rough to watch. It got much better and was pretty awesome, but yeah that part of the show was really heart strings hard.

No worries! I feel like every feeling person in the world who watched is in agreement on that point. I was mostly confused tbh.

@Wizz Yeah, my roommate is trans and genderqueer, and I totally recommended the show to them, but I was also like BUT HERE'S A FUCKING HUGE-ASS TRIGGER WARNING BEFORE YOU START. I am not trans and I've never been the victim of any forced hospitalization, but it squicked me hard.

Man, it's like I didn't even say that exact same thing a few pages back in this thread.

@SG It definitely gets better than the Hinterlands. Despite my overall disappointment, there are some awesomely epic things in the game.

No, thin-shaming is not discrimination. It is a stigma and it's shitty and damaging, but thin bodies don't face discrimination at, say, their jobs, where overweight people are routinely less likely to be hired or promoted. I'm not saying thin-shaming isn't shitty, I'm saying there's a difference between stigma/shaming and discrimination. It's not worse for fat people to mock skinny people, because fat people are living in a world where systemic prejudice means their opportunities in life are fewer than skinny people's.

You can't agree that maybe the left picture isn't realistic because it's a cartoon caricature and then say people shouldn't erase that body type as if it doesn't exist. Because if it's an unrealistic caricature, then it doesn't exist. At least, not at all commonly.

The reason that this kind of artistic reimagining of female characters happens is because the vast majority of them are significantly smaller than the average woman. And, like, the fact that you're calling that image which looks to me like probably around a size 10 or so (still smaller than average) to have "Thunder Thighs" and would "waddle around" is pretty gross.

DAI was sadly disappointing for me. It looked gorgeous, and there were certainly aspects that I liked, but overall the story was less compelling than either of the other two Dragon Age games, and the companions overall as a group were less awesome than previous games. (That said, I don't want to date Cassandra so much as like literally just worship the ground she walks on, I love her so much.) And the ending was suuuuuuuuuper underwhelming. Sadface.

squint The girl in that picture looks much more like the Lara Croft on the right than the left. The original Lara on that picture is actually has fairly unrealistic proportions just looking at the size of her waist, which is tiny. And when you find women with waists that tiny, it's uncommon for their figures to be quite that hourglass curvy.

I mean, the Lara on the right isn't even fat. A lot of the times these "corrections" are less about thin vs fat as they are about extreme hourglass figures that drawn and animated women tend to have with ittybitty Barbie waists.

Either way, it's not equally bad or worse, since fat-shaming is connected to actual discrimination, which reduction of portrayals of thin women in media is not.

The one question out of those I have strong feelings about would be definitely setting it in Night Vale proper because w/e I don't care about any of those ~other~ cities.

Hey, you asked for a polite way to say it. You didn't ask for a way to say it that without making super defensive people defensive. There's nothing to be done about that.

The bottom line is when you accept banned players, you don't always know what the truth is regarding their situations. Sure, some are actually guilty of what they were accused. Some were not. There has to be a way to separate the wheat from the chaff while not being unfair to the wheat.

Banned players who were banned for legitimate reasons almost always reveal their colors on new games. You don't need a probationary period to identify them and deal with them.

I know Chrome has a built-in tool in their source viewer/element inspector where you can view your design on different devices right within Chrome. I'm sure the other browsers have something similar either built-in or through extensions. Might be helpful!

I work in marketing, and if there's one thing I know, it's that everyone looks at everything with their mobile devices nowadays. When I'm super engaged with something happening on a game, I queue up logs in different tabs on my phone for my subway ride to work. Strange as it sounds, it's a tool to keep players engaged.
