@Maira It was not. Does he have a habit of this? He should really stop if he does. Nobody wants random cock on their subway travels.

Huh. The last anime movie I can think of that was released locally was Arrietty.Man, you didn't even get The Wind Rises?
ETA: Are you excited about the new DB series, Dragonball Super (looks to be set after all the God Battle and F movies)?
Yeah, Super's the show I was referencing as enjoying watching now. It's actually set BEFORE the F movie, which is why it was weird and confusing at first.

RE: Anime
So I was SO INTO Dragon Ball Z as a middle schooler watching Toonami, so I've been kind of super delighted watching the new series. It's a nostalgia trip. Today I even went and saw the NEW MOVIE in theaters and it was kind of super strange that the movie clearly took place after -- at least several more episodes of the series that have not aired yet, if not many more. But a fun movie, and it was kind of great watching it in a packed theater with people all around my age who were probably into it at similar points in their childhoods.

@VulgarKitten I like videos like that. What I dislike about videos like that is all those people standing around with their cellphones strapped on their foreheads.
Or the people who watch videos in public with the volume turned up and no headphones. I, too, enjoy a good video, but I do not want to listen to yours (general you).
God, this drives me nuts on the subway. But even worse, one day last week someone not only didn't have headphones, they had a literal mini-speaker stuck on the back of their phone. I was like WHAT. WHAT. ARE YOU KIDDING ME RIGHT NOW.
Although I guess that's not as bad as walking down the stairs to the subway station on my way home and getting an eyeful of some random guy's penis that he just had hanging out. You know. Because. (PUT YOUR PENIS AWAY.) I'm so used to not looking at people when I'm in the commuting zone that I almost missed it, so I hope my non-reaction made him feel super inadequate.

I concur. If you want some extra crunch in there, go use cricket flour, and don't skimp on the crickets.

RE: Was I Banned?
Sometimes I get a weird login glitch, but doing a hard refresh of the front page tends to fix it. (It's this weird thing where it says I'm not logged in even though my icon is there in the corner. A hard refresh seems to show me as properly logged out so that I can log in again.)

Did you like Squall or something?
Whatever.
Oh, and while I'm thinking about it. Does anyone care about and/or play the DA: I multiplayer? I ask simply because I need to actually stop hating it and actually /play/ it. I loved ME3's multiplayer and played that shit to death. But there's such a steep learning curve in the DA: I's, the one day I put real effort into it, it was just death after death after death.
This might've been changed since I last played it back in January. Anyhow, if anyone plays the Xbox One version of it, let me know.
DAI's multiplayer is terrible, especially in comparison to the perfection of ME3.

RE: Website Design Platforms
I will say Dreamweaver's a fucking memory hog. Every time I have to open it it's like, okay maybe I'll go get a drink across the street and it'll be ready by the time I get back.

RE: Website Design Platforms
I'm using Dreamweaver right now! To build eblasts for work, but. It's definitely still in common use in various industries. I wouldn't know how to use it for real beginners, though.

RE: Stuff Done Right
More like fun stuff that I'm excited to do right: starting to plan out the multi-week plot you're closing your game with and getting to pull out ALL THE STOPS to make things ridiculous and awesome. I'm giddy.

Because we don't have a BAD TV Thread, I am catching up on The Strain.
I think @Coin should share his custom VtR 2nd Edition Devotion.
I thought about watching this show. But the ads and posters and stuff for it had a worm thing crawling into an eyeball.
Eyeballs are a squick factor for me. I cannot deal with eyeball mutilation.
Ugh I literally was just angry for like a whole month because of those posters being wrapped on buses all over the city and I had to see it all the time.

RE: Dragon Age: Inquisition
@Three-Eyed-Crow Man, however much any Circle in the world is better than Kirkwall's, I certainly never bought it in DA:O. "Magic is dangerous! Let's teach everyone who has it that they're less than other people and that they should be terrified of themselves all the time. That'll work!" For me, Kirkwall is the inevitable end of all the Circles, because they're intrinsically violent and oppressive, even when they're being "nicer" about it than someone like Meredith.

Fenris's anger was hard to empathize with. I think this is mostly because his plight is overshadowed by how the storyline leans in favor of Mages, in my opinion. No matter how I played, I eventually sided with the Mage's plight, rather than take the position that Mages ought to be purged.
Honestly, I find that curious. I am pro-mage rights 4 EVAR and literally feel dirty if I ever side with the Templars in any major way in the games, but I could still empathize with the fact that he was a slave who suffered horrific abuses and was mentally, emotionally, and physically scarred as a result, and who was trying to learn how to make his own choices after a lifetime of having no choice. Idk I didn't feel like empathizing with Fenris and supporting the mages were mutually exclusive items.

If that was rhetorical I get that, I've said much the same, but I tend to be a bit more open minded in looking at characters in modern RPGs. Some of the reasons characters are my favorites are because of particular moments, and with the way Bioware in particular sets up its games it's almost (or entirely) impossible to get every moment for every character, even some pretty well defining ones. It's entirely possible that, in particular because I didn't like Fenris much to start with, I rarely ever used him outside of where I absolutely had to (like his companion questline). As a result I missed probably 90% of his banter or input in particular scenes, etc.
So if it's just a general for Fenris that would be hard to quantify, no it probably won't accomplish anything to say it again, but if there were particular moments that stick out in memory I'd be interested to hear them. I don't hate him, he just kind of aggravated me with his angry-mopey thing. Like he was going to flip his hair in disdain at everything, all the time.
There are certain things I can quantify. I mean, for one, Gideon Emery. His voice is ridiculous in the best sense of the word. I found Fenris seething rather than mopey, and I liked the fact that he was active in his angst -- like, he was on a mission, he wasn't just moping around. He was gonna murder some slavers, man. And one of my favorite things is that despite the fact that he's got certain shades of emo elf going on, he actually has a really funny sense of humor, which is possibly something you didn't get to see if you didn't take him around much. A lot of emo RPG folks -- like Squall, yeah, I was never in love with him either -- are all UGH NOTHING IS FUNNY I NEVER MAKE JOKES. Fenris actually does make dry, funny jokes, and he enjoys jokes by others. So they don't go the route of his emo sucking all the possibility of life out of him.
And also, like, if you rivalmance him you get to argue and get pushed against a wall and made out with. I'm only human.
Varric and Isabela are just cruel both being rogues because I always had to choose between them for my party.
I thought they were cruel because I enjoyed both characters but never wanted to take rogues with me because they'd be taking up a valuable wizard slot.
But then who will warn you about the traps that you've already stepped in?!
I played DA2 most often as a mage, so taking one additional mage was plenty for me. And I needed someone to open my locks.

RE: Dragon Age: Inquisition
@Thenomain I did have a friend who was so prepared to absolutely loathe Fenris based on the info that came out before the game and his appearance and everything, and then she got so mad when she loved him in play.

RE: Dragon Age: Inquisition
When has trying to explain the appeal of a character you love to someone who doesn't like the character ever actually accomplished anything? Although I am confused at calling him androgynous, cause he's all strong jaw and prominent nose.
I will say that I didn't play Awakening and went straight from Origins to 2 and didn't like Anders at all the first round. Now that I'm a much angrier adult, I liked him a lot more in a replay last year.
Now I just love all the DA2 companions. Varric and Isabela are just cruel both being rogues because I always had to choose between them for my party.

@HelloRaptor SORRY I CAN'T HEAR YOU OVER HOW I REPLAYED SEVERAL HOURS OF THE GAME AFTER ACCIDENTALLY GETTING LOCKED OUT OF FENRIS'S ROMANCE SO I COULD FIX IT AND SMOOCH HIM ALL OVER
