@faraday Don't get me wrong, I get that. It's a problem of people getting burned for so long on games, or seeing it happen, that trust out of the gate is a hard thing to give.

@Too-Old-For-This Who is your favorite companion, and why is it Horatio? Seriously that guy makes me love pigs a lot more. The only time he ever gets chumped is against demon bears.

RE: How To Treat Your Players Right
My two cents and current thoughts relate to trust. A problem I've seen with a lot of staffers the last few years is that they're upset that players don't trait them enough to come forward about something. Trust isn't usually given for free, and it takes some time to either earn it or that You have to trust that they'll come forward to you eventually. On the flipside those first impressions by staff matter a whole lot, and when they let a friend or someone popular get away with something that it can poison the well until a player finds somewhere else to hang there hat.

@Tinuviel said in How To Treat Your Players Right:
The only real way to unequivocally "prove" that an interaction occurred is to log everything server-side and have someone go through it all. Then that becomes a freedom vs security debate, which is older than time.
This is something I found to be new on MUSHing when I first came in. On Java and Add-On things were logged server side. The biggest thing is that staff would constantly beg people not to talk about anything private, major, or overtly sexual on the game. Especially TS. Even when a specific player was asked to just do their sex outside of game they'd still do it after being told point blank that it's logged, and we don't need to see it.

RE: Good TV
Also it took me 4 episodes to realize that Sir Reginald was Colm Feore and I had to look it up on IMDB to be sure.
Same here, and I felt bad about it at first. Like how could I miss that!?

RE: Pro Wrasslin'
Much belatedly, Pentagon, Jr. is an amazing talent. I love watching his work solo or with his brother. He's one of my favorites of the newer generation.

RE: Good TV
@Arkandel I know, right? I was blown way the fuck away by him. However, Klaus/Number 4 is my favorite. He is just too perfect.

RE: Good TV
Umbrella Academy is amazing. My view is likely biased since I never read the comics.

@Alamias God above, that is good to hear and I hope things go well. This is such a great thing, and puts the biggest smile on my face.

RE: Fallout: Montreal Beta - Discussion
After New Dawn I've been in a post-apoc mood so will check this out asap.

RE: How do you like things GMed?
I have few key details that are static. Like how npcs feel and react to things, various environments, and how npc abilities work. Past that I move by the seat of my pants.

RE: MU Things I Love
I love when I drop plot seeds, and people pick up on them without hesitation. Bonus points for my pc's pack gaining more traction.

RE: RL things I love
This is a twofer. Getting the loot I wanted in a game asap, and getting my place so clean that looking at it makes me smile.

RE: When To Stop Listening To Those Voices
My own experiences are few, but I can understand being haunted by the monster of anxiety. I know three specific instances (on bsg, tdm1.0, and sfm), and I'm fortunate that it didn't lose my friends when I started catching feelings over nothing. Video games are what I usually go to ally when things don't click, people are busy, or their other side might be feeling some kinda way.

RE: Changeling: The Lost Update [CofD]
I do very much like the new systems, but I get what you're saying. I'm hoping that I can get around to STing it sometime soon. I had an idea I'd really love to try out, and keep mulling over things.

People that don't get their shit done on time drives me nuts. Second shift sees us come in, and they immediately slow down. Management knows about it and talks about it, but they won't do a same thing about it.

I finally got a call back from a second job I needed a month ago, new glasses should be here in a week or so, and apparently I received an inheritance from my grandfather. While these should be good things it's a little too late, and doesn't really help matters now. Hooray.
