The search for further explanation is just one more sloppy attempt to exert control and victimize, or revictimize, his targets. He actually did receive a reason, at least from SL. It was a Rihanna meme!

In addition to the roster character he was banned on, he could be attributed to five additional logins, not including those rosters he claimed post-banning.

@Sunny My tabletop group has used an X Card for a little over a year, now. Nobody's ever utilized it yet but it's a really, really nice guard-rail to have.

The agreement there is that the group moves on to a new topic, though. Not that the person drawing the X Card does. I'm not real sure about how best to adapt it to larger gameplay. It would be cool to!

An anonymous alert system could be interesting. IIII can't personally imagine rping explicit violence, drug use, suicide, sexual themes etc without already having confirmed those involved are comfortable with it.

For me, it's the emotional labor or the (sometimes aggressive) expectation of emotional labor. Fabulous writers combined with the safety that comes from meeting on a screen instead of face to face.. by which I mean safety of expression.. There are just aspects of this hobby that can bring out the worst insecurities like the perfect fucking storm. Sometimes it really takes it out of ya and when it gives back, it doesn't always break even.

The actual problem is when you have someone with an OOC opinion about someone else that is so strong it is literally disruptive to gameplay in some manner, whether that manner is beneficial to the target of this feeling or not.

And if communicating about that problem does not lead to a satisfying resolution or if there isn't enough established trust to approach the subject and seek one, the healthier decision is probably to move on.

Weyrlinghood is flat out the absolute worst time to play a dragon rider imo. You are limited in what you can rp thematically and by rule, everyone is still judging you despite search being over, etc. It's the worst.

Ares also allows for drastically different pacing when it comes to multi-scening, so the implicit demand or scattering of someone's attention isn't always a relevant factor. People can take much longer to scene throughout the day or several days, and it still appears that they are in multiple scenes.

ETA: If I'm in a slow ass scene with Player A that's taking two days, I'm not going to sit on my hands. I'm going to scene with Player B.
