@Sunny said in MU* Gripes and Peeves:

People who are particularly good at finding PBs / have lots of resources collected ought to make a thread for the lists. Because some of us are ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE AT IT and having the link buried in the peeves thread means I will NEVER FIND IT AGAIN.

Resource thread for people who like PBs. Don't like PBs? Well, uhoh!

What'd Julea do? Has anyone else been banned yet?

I do know some eyes were turned toward her direction regarding blocking other people out of rp, and likewise some regard as getting an overt amount of attention and shinies plotwise. I could not speak as to the veracity of it all, but the former would be more likely a reason for ban than the latter.

      Neither are correct.

Went out of my way to involve people who were struggling to get involved in story and plot, but my play times sometimes made it tricky to catch up with everyone I wanted to.

I'm sure you were very inclusive of people who you didn't feel were direct competition to your personal story.

Julea was territorial of what she felt were her storylines and worked to block others from being involved and actively tried to dissuade a brand new player from their character because they were written in as a potential rival. She complained loudly and often on channel about not having adequate metaplot attention while her character had more secrets, hooks, and special abilities than several other characters combined. As a largely uninvolved observer, I can honestly say that she is actively misrepresenting herself and staff above. Guess what finger I’m holding up.

First and foremost, we'd like to thank everyone for being so interested in our game! We’re excited to play with you all! Unfortunately, we are no longer accepting new applications at this time. We apologize for any disappointment. @tat and I know our limitations as GMs and in order to make this as fun an experience as possible for both players and ourselves, we set a player limit and we’re sticking to it.

Those who have already created charbits are encouraged to continue on with the chargen process, submit for approval, and enter play. All others, uh… suffer? No, I’m kidding sort of! Seriously, thank you all. It feels wonderful to have so many people interested in sharing something that we’ve talked about and poured ourselves into for over a year at this point. We’re incredibly grateful and look forward to seeing what happens!

We will address the possibility of reopening applications at a later date.

@ganymede Ok, and yet no one is addressing the tone Auspice took, both in that thread after defenses as to the relevance of that story were made, AND HERE. It's not ok to call people stupid because they didn't understand you were being a regular silencing ass instead of authority silencing ass.

@Ganymede Please address this. Without insulting or calling names. This is a REALLY BIG concern for me, right here. If one of the 3 mods is going to be free to take potshots at KQ and I and a few other people, we should probably just acknowledge that we're not welcome here and go.

ETA: Let me clarify that I don't object to the potshots, I object to the 'free to', as in, she does it, any of us respond, and one of the other mods mod-voices as US for responding to her nastiness. This is not the first example of it happening recently, it is only the clearest and most recent.

This should be addressed. Since the confusion over the response to @meg, the only consistency has been blind defensiveness. I want to give the benefit of the doubt but geez does the all-caps <NOT MOD VOICE> only read as a big middle finger right now so long as there's been no acknowledgment that some of the confusion could have come from anyone other than the reader.

    • RE: RL Anger

Last night on our way to tabletop, we had to help a woman move her puppy out of the street after it was hit by a car. The driver who did it sped off and she was totally hysterical, so my one (much more emotionally intelligent) friend took her aside to a nearby stoop to block her vision while a passing driver and I tried to move the dog to the sidewalk. The guy like, looked at me in the eyes right when we were about to and said, "I can't do this," and left - so I had to. It was so fucking awful. I didn't sleep at all last night. Every time I tried to close my eyes, I kept bringing up all the visuals and now that I'm exhausting, I am feeling so many things about it.

You can find something hot/sexy that is still 100% ic, and that is not creepy. If I am doing IC rp and someone tells me, OOC, that it inspired a RL orgasm? That is invasive and uncomfortable and weird, and it is ON THEM.

I have so many yikes right now.

Heya! I’m hopping on here to give kudos for how immediately impressed I am with this game’s player management. Intervening with OOC problems can be draining and uncomfortable territory. I see plenty of game admin avoid it through largely non-interventionist strategies but ultimately, that’s how you set the tone for a healthy game and keep quality players around.

    • RE: BSG: Unification

I’ve played on BSGU for round-about three months now but thus far, the culture and player-base that Fara has cultivated here is active, welcoming, and drama-free. I’ve yet to have a scene in which everyone didn’t turn out to be a talented writer. That’s always a pleasant surprise jk -- it’s a f*cking miracle. There are constantly events being run and by design, players are kept up to date on IC happenings regularly. For a slow-to-boil recluse like me, I can honestly say I've never been left feeling as though I was missing out on plot for not being able to make every single one. You can play at your own pace. All in all, I’d say it’s a place that’s worth checkin’ out.

I interpreted the locks as a pause (on acting a fool?) so that this all can be dealt with. It's a Tuesday morning, and not a particularly good Tuesday.

@buttercup This place isn't Arx. For one thing, the documentation is much better.

@auspice said in An Apology to BSO and BSU.:

I will note that the suicide of Marcus was not a single incident. He's done it on other games, too.

He did it on Unification twice and on 5th Kingdom.

So it's not like it was an accident, a mistake, or a 'one off' situation.

If abruptly tossing characters off-cam for injury counts... more than twice?

No apology necessary (especially if it is going to be filled with doublespeak) but I'm going to be real with you, you made me uncomfortable @DownWithOPP. When our paths crossed, the PMing and pressure you apply to join large scenes is irritating and eventually for me, once it became a constant that I could expect every time I signed in, bordered on aggressive.

    • RE: Characters You Enjoyed Playing

On XFS, I played a father-figure / social worker character who helped at-risk mutant youth ~while struggling with the addictive nature of his own mutations. His abilities were sort of both sides of the coin. Healing & life energy / vampiric death. It’s an overused concept and I barely ever used his powers until the very end. All of the fun came from @zz playing a cop and the two doing this ‘will they/won’t they’ dance before he ended up betraying everyone and sucking the life out of one of the younger characters he’d taken under his wing (played by @tat). It was a glorious, very satisfying story to create.
