RE: Paying for a MU*?
I have an admin that has a patron that I happily toss money at. Not much. A very little. But my game name ain't attached and I will never make the explicit connection between me and this admin.

RE: Crafting Thread Part ?
Done! In retrospect I should have added a subject. Um, junipersky might be the name.

RE: GMs and Players
Sarcasm has a place - this isn't it. This is the mildly constructive part of the forum, so I'll leave it there.

RE: GMs and Players
How do different people define NPC? It seems like there isn't a commonly accepted definition within the last set of pages.

RE: MUs That We Would Love To Make (But Won't)
Never mind. There is no point.
Back to constructive: I always loved when there was a pot of random ideas I could roll until something struck me. The only problem was that when a system was put in place it wasn't always updated so the ideas eventually got stale.

RE: MUs That We Would Love To Make (But Won't)
@arkandel said in MUs That We Would Love To Make (But Won't):
@betternow said in MUs That We Would Love To Make (But Won't):
Or, GMs could not be the only source of plot and let players run their own stuff, make up their own cases to run for others, come up with their own NPC patients with X or Y illness for PCs to solve, etc. Then GMS only have to focus on big, world-changing stuff
In most MU* I used to play this was pretty much the default. In some of the sandbox ones it was really the only option other than when staff ran very occasional scenes.
Unless something has changed, the truth of the matter is the majority of players want to participate but not run plot. It's not really a matter of whether they are permitted to; in fact unless there are generous reward systems encouraging them to do so, it tends to not happen outside small groups of players running scenes for each other.
I wonder, would this conversation about running plots (starting roughly at the above post 3 pushes back) and such be better off in the thread called GMs and players? We have strayed from wistful mu- ness.

RE: Critters!
They are! I put out two cans which looks like it might have been too much for their bellies. So I'll cut down to one and a half tomorrow morning.

RE: Health and Wealth and GrownUp Stuff
Living in the mountains presents all SORTS of problems. Right now it's mud slides that keep washing out the interstates and making them impassable.
Usually it's just one way - but the last few days both sides of the valley have ended up blocked off, almost completely isolating the town I grew up in. This would be whatever, take the +2 hour detour, whatever - but my sister's wedding is this weekend and the interstate is KIND OF important. Also, if it's blocked in both directions, then there ~isn't~ a good detour.
One friend replied "Leave early!" to my concern and it took everything in me to go, "My quadraplegic brother is at the mercy of his caretakers with young children and literally ~can't~ leave earlier. He can leave when his caretakers get him up, my father arrives, and he gets packed. A 2+ hour detour means they arrive around midnight, and blocked roads in both directions means not only my brother but possibly my father might miss my sister's wedding."
#grump.
If it could just stop raining for a bit please.

RE: Critters!
She is so very people centered that she doesn't mind tummy pets as long as she is already sleepy.

RE: Autism and The MU* Community
Huh.
I wish I could say this to a particular parent because this is legit. Just this morning they were describing how sometimes their kiddo has to put on several pairs of socks before they find one that feels right (thus leading them to be late to school), plus a lot of other things you guys described.

They caught two more! (They are going to a different house though.)
