      @cupcake @FirePuff I'm not disagreeing with you about that. It's gross, not cool, and is not being diminished or defended. Duh.

      It is, however, very frightening to think we might have someone in this community who might, in fact, go out and commit necrophilia for the express purpose of harassing someone they did not like on a game, and if it sounds like that may have been the case, yeah, I'm going to want to know about that immediately.

      And I don't see why I'm getting my shit jumped for asking for that clarification.

      We live in an era where SWATting is a thing. That someone in this community may have not just crossed the 'disgusting posts on the internet for harassment' line, but the 'engaged in violent threatening real world flesh and blood behavior' line as well, is something I would want to know about.

      @tinuviel And the subsequent comment, which I quoted and asked about, sounded like the violation of a body may occurred for the purpose of harassing someone.

      Which is ten miles more extreme than 'a shitty person found pre-existing disgusting things on the internet to post to someone's page'.

      @tinuviel I was unclear if:

      @cupcake said in Real World Peeves, Disgruntlement, and Irks.:

      It took a girl's dead body being violated for someone to say "oh hey, maybe we're taking this too far."

      meant this illegal act occurred for that specific purpose.

      So I asked, because if this was the case, it would be orders of magnitude more alarming than someone already behaving in a horrible way.

      WTF, dude.

      @tinuviel Violating someone's corpse for the purpose of harassing someone on the internet is going much further than finding pre-existing content for that purpose.

      They're both gross.

      One is far more dangerously insane and threatening than the other, and should be regarded accordingly.

      @cupcake Gotcha.

      It initially read like this person went out to violate a corpse explicitly for the purposes of posting that, which... is a magnitude of difference re: levels of vile.

      I suppose we're left with only 'let's hope not'.

      @scar said in RL Anger:

      Instead of coming here, she drives straight to the property she apparently purchased after very minimal research, site unseen, in Manayunk which I guess is… still technically in this city I guess. She wants us to come to her because the previous owners/tenants/landlords left a ton of their belongings and the place is horrible with no heat. (I'm shocktt!!)

      I am genuinely boggled to fuck that someone like what you have described here is capable of purchasing even the shittiest of shit-holes of property in that area. (Unless somebody was spectacularly murdered in it? The only reasonable rent I found in the 90s in Westchester was due to precisely this, but that place was darling.)

      'Very recently inherited money' or 'early days of the business camgirl with a friend who insisted on playing business advisor' are legitimately the only explanations I can mentally conjure that would explain this person having more than a nickel to their name for more than roughly three seconds at a time.

      That your immediate response was not "there are not enough hells in ALL THE HELLS NO" is impressive, however, no matter how good a friend the other person involved in this is.

      Whatever you do, do not offer 'space until they can get the new place up to snuff'. This is more or less how I got Spidered for months instead of the initially requested 3 days. Do not do it to yourself, please.

      @cupcake I wasn't around for any of that so far as I recall, in my 'chased off by Spider' period, but the way this is phrased? Really reads like...

      "A WORA poster went out and filmed themselves violating a dead girl's body to post a picture of it to a site of someone they don't like."

      And I am hoping that's not what was meant, but it's really reading that way.

      Can someone please clarify?

      @sunnyj I genuinely cannot envision a game of any quality whatsoever going from idea to plots in motion on grid inside a week, sorry.

      @sunnyj OK, tell you what, then. You build a game, a wiki, get it all up and running, have people through CG and on grid and in actual plots in a week, and I'll believe that.

      I'm not talking 'within a week of opening'.

      I am talking 'within a week from somebody saying, "Hey, do we want to maybe have a game?"'.

      These are very different things.

      @insomnia Frankly, that y'all went from ' ...hey, does anybody maybe wanna... ?' to 'there is RP happening period' within a week is a blinding speed miracle worthy of a jaw-drop and a hearty whoop of applause.

      'cause that's some pretty epic-level stuff to pull off.

      I referenced goatse today when 'weird internet shit' came up at work. (The younger guys were talking about when they were first shown 2girls1cup.)

      A coworker said 'I don't want to know about that crazy shit from back in your day.'

      You know what this means?

      That the Internet is as deviant as it can ever get. We made it to the top of that hill before anyone else. Everyone after our generation will be following in our footsteps.

      We won.

      It's true. When they're wigged out by 2girls1cup and some minor BMEzine stuff and you're thinking something along the lines of "I've seen things you people wouldn't believe. Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion.."

      Our 'grandpa/ma on the rockin' chair' stories are going to make the boomer tales about Woodstock and whatnot look like a Disney film, and that is absolutely winning.

      It may be a ways off yet, but some day, we're going to be those old farts that have their kids covering their kids' ears and going, "MOOOOOOOOOOM!" before the grandkids rush off to whatever replaces whatever replaces google, which will probably run so fast that the moment the words are out of our mouth, a little readout will appear on the contact lens our grandspawn is wearing.

      In other words, by the time we horrify our kids, their kids will already be giggling like mad or starting to cry or scheduling their own appointment with a therapist.

      @lithium They're both in my same mental bucket for some reason.

      Maybe that bucket is titled 'shaven-headed badasses who look like spinning princesses of death in wigs and armor', but... yeah, that's definitely going to be the name of that bucket now.

      I also take absolutely no responsibility for all the people who are into men who probably went, "Who the fuck is Luke Goss?" then did a google image search, and will potentially be flooding bb4 on Shang with twin requests throughout the week as a result.

      @admiral I suspect the scene system code would work for this even better, as it doesn't have a grid in so much as it creates rooms on the fly as needed for a scene, sometimes based on a room template of sorts that gets cloned for that purpose.

      @roz The sad truth is that having seen #1 shirtless in the Transporter reboot... dude's made a bit weird. So I can't exactly fault someone for appreciating #2, either. πŸ˜‰

      Still... clothes, floor, fast enough for a sonic boom to hit.

      You know who else I never see that I wish I'd see more (not in that way, pervs!)? Luke Goss. We only ever see Hellboy-Nuada Luke, but he's similar looking and he's got a similar general 'I make a good bruiser that isn't too pretty to be plausible' vibe going on. (Which I'd say nails the look for Ed without the wig, too. With the wig? 'I am the prettiest of the princesses, and I can also kick ass.')

      ETA: pic.

      ...because I have a sinking feeling nobody knows what he even looks like without that makeup.

      There's a loose plan for a single sphere something that isn't being discussed openly yet, since nobody's sure what's going on with it quite yet at all beyond a chosen location, sphere, and the barest bones of a wiki.

      (Partly because some of the people involved have roughly zero patience for people whining to add additional spheres, and partly because it's hard to tell if it'll ever get anywhere on progress.)

      (And partly because, uh, I'm really overwhelmed and it would be a third wiki to maintain/dev. πŸ˜• )

      @aria ...so much agreed.

      My mother is such a prude she can't watch open-mouthed kissing on TV/in movies without wincing.

      Regardless, when #2 dropped trou in GoT, she immediately paused the screen, looked at me pointedly and clearly upset, and just deadpan insisted: "I feel cheated right now. Do you feel cheated right now? Because I feel cheated right now." I have rarely ever laughed so hard or been so surprised.

      I love me some Ed. I had him as an NPC on an old project, though, if it's any consolation! ❀
