In LARP, we discuss the concept of "bleed" -- your own emotions being influenced by your character's emotions and vice-versa. I maintain that we experience the very same thing in MUing, even if our interactions aren't face to face. Instead of just going "KEEP IT ALL SEPARATE, DON'T DO THAT", I think it would be a good idea to address the fact that it does happen and discuss healthy ways to handle it, so I started this thread as a spinoff of a discussion on a thread in the Pit. What are the ways you handle your bleed? What advice do you have for others who might not handle it as well?
Had my first Arabic lesson. My teacher is smart, funny, easy on the eyes, and thought my "this dog is a doctor" story was hilarious. 11/10, would Arabic again.
@GangOfDolls Now to be fair, in the right setting with the right oversight, that could be helpful. However, a recreational game with people who didn't sign up to facilitate your therapy is NOT the place for that shit.

The health problems that I've been having since age 19 that have just been dismissed as me being fat and needing to be less of a fatty look like they might be deep penetrating endometriosis. Of course, it wouldn't be deep penetrating at age 31 if doctors had taken me seriously over a decade ago. Fuck you, doctors who don't take fat women seriously. Fuck you.
Another tip: Criticising other people's poses in OOC isn't a good way to win friends and influence people.
