Threnodies suck.
Well, maybe not, but in looking over them, not one of them seemed appealing, and the sacrifice cost to use them seemed prohibitively high, so that's just me.
As for the rituals themselves... the biggest problem with Blood Sorcery is that the only converted rituals are the ones from the original core book: Pangs of Proserpina/Rigor Mortis/Touch of the Morrigan, etc. for Cruac, and Vitae Reliquary/Liar's Plague/Transmutation, etc. for Theban Sorcery. Admittedly, several Theban rituals (and some custom ones, I think of lot of which were courtesy of Vinder) were added, but Cruac doesn't have a lot of that at all in comparison. So, effectively one would have to go through all the books, read over the ritual effects, and figure out the best way to recreate it via BS Themes and the like. THAT is where a lot of the work is going to have to come in.
Eh? Blood Sorcery in the book is pretty cool in terms of pointing out by the dots of what can be done. If you played mage it gets fairly close to the same ideals in a lot of ways.
@Ganymede I love TR. Yeah I said it...
The beauty of the XP system is that for me I can play a badass Mage, a killer Hunter, a ninja werewolf or insert any combo of things here with a butt load of XP. The best part of this, for someone with a busy life we all end up at the same cap at some point.
I don't have to worry about scheduling in times to meet with PCs to make sure I get my weekly number of votes, I don't have to worry that if my timezone keeps me out of regular RP that when I jump into events with other players I'll be so behind on XP I'll be a hinderance to the group.
I can play as much or as little as I want and "tada" I get XP every week and my PC grows. I think the issue people have with PCs having that much XP is crazy. EVERYONE IS/OR WILL BE AT THE SAME XP LEVEL at some point. If you die, you get your XP. If you are tired of your PC and you want to make a new one, you get your XP. If you want to play LOW XP you make a new PC or you shed half your XP or you don't spend XP. This gives you the choice to do ANYTHING. So where's the beef?
To make the point that I suck at making in text, I give you Superman vs Doomsday:
As a kid this taught me about the sliding scale of power and that to always remember that there is always someone out there more badass than you. In RP I don't know why we don't think the same. I mean you have a gang of changing breed PCs with approx 600XP each. T1 mortal Hunters armed with pitchforks and torches probably isn't a good choice of enemy / antagonist / ect. (to use nWoD themed examples >.>)
I think @Coin has a valid point in saying:
You're conflating having power with not having weaknesses, which is not the same thing, though. Just saying.
If the fear is owner only can do "things", couldn't you just give rights to the code folder? Let people dump their shit code right in and run like the wild west?
@il-volpe A whinge? Next you're going to say I hurt some feeling because I disagree with your or the point of view? I internet bullied you for not falling in line? Or having an opposing view?
This is where I say:

Continue... more words.
I've peppered these entire forums with stuff about the game I'm working on. It's nWoD, Vampire/Demon/Werewolf.
Lots more information soon, when we start openly advertising!
Did you say demon? >.>
@Coin I know, I just like asking cause its exciting. I was going to make a joke asking if I had to make a character that sucked at life to get the approval of @il-volpe , but, I don't think the humor its meant to convey translates into text
Is this thread mixing 1e and 2e again? Should this whole thing be moved to something other than the thread for the Descent Mux?
Making drawbacks desirable works a bit better in 2e where you get beats for resolving conditions which can in part be brought on by these drawbacks. Or I should say there is what to me is a bit of fun to the whole thing. That's one thing and its small but additionally Mage's have disbelief, paradox, and hubris to contend with. On top of that as @Ganymede has brought up you have the Seers, and you have the Guardians hunting you down if you act a fool. So really there are TONS of things going on in mage that if ignored I'd say make for shitty players. Or maybe a lucky outcome after throwing fire and sunlight around to PK a whole group of vampires isn't noticed by anyone...
