The books say a lot I always feel like people skip over. I think the point that was trying to be made earlier on was in ref to passages like:
These are the Chronicles of Darkness, tales of a world like ours, but just slightly wrong.
A place we recognize, but where our fears take on lives of their own.
The Chronicles of Darkness Rulebook is the key to exploring that world, a guide to storytelling encounters with the uncanny and a foundation for tales in which the monster becomes the hero.
I always liked the way VtR broke it down:
This World of Darkness can be said to be our own seen through the looking glass darkly. With regard to barbarism, the world of the vampires is like our own, but with a significant upturn in violence and decay. The streets are more brutal, with the desperate eyes of the unfortunate ever watchful for someone more privileged from whom they can steal something to make their own bleak lives more comfortable.
Gangs are more active and violent; vagrants are bolder or they obliviate themselves even more. Even those with vast resources are more fearful of those who would harm them — or more jealous of those who rival their own wealth or power. Their actions can turn fierce with the slightest provocation.

@Gingerlily There's a small but dedicated group of individuals who downvote/upvote their select group no matter what they say. Essentially anything reasonable gets downvoted while 'shitposts' (their words) get upvoted.
I'm sick of other people that play on mu*'s for the most part. I mean I can be an asshole IC but I think ooc I'm pretty decent. Then you get pricks like Derp and Spider and the crazy of people like the ones that run that Project Fuction game(s) that just ruin entire games. I backed off playing and stopped even trying to let my mind match OOC info to characters but for the most part it all feels like a huge waste of time as of late.
Am I the problem? Maybe. But games seem to have lost the drive they use to have. The compelling story, the want to build on that story and to interact with other characters. I was critical in the past of Eldrich but it was honestly because that game could be great. The spheres are there, the players, and the backdrop.
I love Reno but to me it's the same, there is no driving force to lead story. But for me I love some Fallout 4, Destiny, and Star Wars Battlefront so at least I have something to fall back on to do in place of playing on a mu*. If you have a PS4 hit me up and we can get down or even an Xbox 1 , I just got myself one for Christmas >.>
Is there a way to +1billion all this talk of boobs... >.>
More BOOB TALK!
@Coin We need more STEAK...
Edit: I will now lean back and watch the waves of down-votes pour in >.>
Also there is nothing less satisfying as a player than coming into a game fresh off the street and unable to find a foot hold to get established. If I were to join a game where groups were given priority 24/7 over single players it would mean to play I would have to join a group. Now for the sake of putting this in perspective, let's pretend the only group willing to take on the new player is headed by the MuSoapBox famous VaSpider. I have to join that group or never really get into things or just not play. There is the option to bring my friends but I'm guessing my experience in not getting a foot hold would make me not want to do so.
That feeling when I look at my bank account(s) between pay days and see more money then I ever thought I'd have in the bank.
Knowing my sacrifices, blood, sweat and tears from Military service and fighting through getting a Bachelors Degree followed by an MBA was all worth it.
I started running into the same and found that highlighting my pc name and other pc names of importance helped a lot. Also I changed the color of text in between quotes.
@Coin See, this restores my faith in the ability for the humor that can bleed through...

900xp max in a 1e game. Seems to have worked fine since the game is still up and running.
I don't know why people are so scared of XP.

Also, YES. Dear God yes. Please stop telling me that I need to stop drinking so much coffee while you shove your second Big Mac into your mouth. Or that I need to eat more than two meals a day when that keeps me perfectly content. I don't like breakfast, sue me. On the rare occasion I actually eat that early, I tend to be too full for lunch. So what, that's just how my body works, leave me alone.
If you stopped drinking so much coffee I bet you'd have more friends AND money.
eats mayo and butter by the spoon
By the spoon? I eat sticks of butter like they are candy bars!
@HelloRaptor I'm just looking forward to a game that hopefully is run to be a game for the players, not some extension of staff's need to be important (as some places seem to become). A place where if I play 5 hours a week or 50, to staff I'm still a player with equal rights as other players. And even if IC I'm an asshole (because you know, I'm playing a monster) people are smart enough to see that its IC and not me OOC. A place where staff events can be inclusive to all spheres and hopefully, HOPEFULLY a place where cross-sphere shit happens. On top of that if someone is asking for a beat down/pk IC that it can happen if it needs to happen.
I keep hoping Eldrich will be this place and so far the staff has seemed to be pretty cool and it all looks good. But, we are 1 Spider away from shit being crazy (if the talk on threads here are to be believed).

@Salty-Secrets I thought about that. The problem then is I would need to sell the traits at a steep discount, which seems to undervalue them, since they would be less bang for your buck than other skills.
If you can buy Punch with 5 XP and can then punch PCs in the face then I can't sell you Lie for 5 XP if you can't use it the same way.
If vs PC action is allowed then all things should be equal. As stated if you are allowed to punch someone, they are allowed a dodge action/defense/whatever mechanic for physical violence. The same should be true for manipulation, mind control, whatever.
The difference here is consent and our personal view on "things". As a player if my PC were PKed I'd be ok. If my male PC was dominated and then forced to go down on some dude, I'd be not ok. But it is something that could happen.
With that said I'd say in a situation like that I the player shouldn't be forced to play out the event and it should be faded to black. Just like I shouldn't be forced to play out my characters death; we just know it was the outcome (here I mean like screaming as the head is sawed off or some other grusuem event).
In a discussion about this last night there was something said that made me laugh, while being a bit sad but also rang true. The comment was something like: Tiered XP is great because I can play the character I want right out the gate before the game dies/shuts down.
Glad to see a 2e vs 1e game coming out.
Chronicles of Darkness is the 2e (Godmachine and later game lines/rules).
