You keep backups for more than having a backup; you keep them so you don't lose work. I have all my code off site as well but I would cut my wrists if I had to build a game from scratch. Do. Backups.

Isn't one of the big warning signs of database corruption rooms becoming objects and getting moved around and such?

I'm back. This hasn't happened for a long enough time that I forgot that this can happen. The Room flag is not really a flag. There is no way for this to change from within the game. None.

I started to wonder if maybe you accidentally set the StartingRoom in (game).conf to an object, which is possible. I hope so, because if you are somehow getting database corruption then there's no certainty that the underlying cause is resolved.

      Keep backups.

Unlinked rooms don't go "home" as there is no home for them to go to. I didn't think that there was a way to pick up a room, but there you go.

Re: Ricky and Morty -- sounds to me like the request is for other players to play victims. Not too likely.

You would have to take the concept into the theme and setting, of course. Even being around such a comedy duo would be hilarious and as was mentioned you could use NPCs as targets. The question of why the cops and FBI aren't all over the situation would need addressed too but sure, why not.

Of course I know you. That's why I bought it up. It was uncharacteristic of you to give a damn and bother to use real words to make a real point. I was surprised to see you care about something, and honestly I'm a little impressed, though because I know you I can say that it's a flash in the pan and you'll go back to spamming threads with memes that are tacitly related to any point at all.

Yeah be you. I be me. The end.

Blah blah blah. For someone who wants there to be people taking themselves less seriously, you got pretty defensive, brah.

Me, I'm fine with any cliche as long as it's done well. I think it was @skew or @tragedyjones who pointed me at a forum thread asking what people didn't want to see in a villain in their games and it was apparently like a list of everything from TV Tropes. We're never going to escape labels, so why the hell are we fighting it?

So that's my wish. That we stop fighting the whole concept of what is or isn't fun and that we do our fucking best with it.

Oh, except Rick and Morty. I vote this idea wins.

(edit: except that Deadpool was still a shitty video game. Nothing can stop that. Nothing!)

He's mocking me because there is no 2nd edition of CoD. Mocking me. Watching me. Here's there, now, reading. He'll start explaining that all comic books share a single continuity. It will end in blood and madness. Mostly blood. Mostly ... his.

Or I'll put intentional easter eggs into BitN and he'll never find them.

MUX is lacking the majority of regex functions that Penn and Rhost both share. Without those functions, your system won't be compatible.

Yeah, that's the same problem that prevented @Thenomain from porting my softcode package to MUX.

There are a precious few things I would kill to have from Rhost/Penn, but the regedit suite is among them.

Really, except for the new kith and seeming setup, and some CoD mechanics changes, this looks like a fixed version of Lost. Mind, I will probably get more bitchy around Dreamwalking. We shall see.

I must stress because I know it's going to be lost, the glamour/turn reduction now also applies to the amount you can gain per turn.

      Dropping Mask now means something.

There's a lot to like in this update.

The Wyrd trait is so improved (so very improved) that I'm going to pour over the rest. Not sure how I feel about breaking down Contracts, but they are all Universal now and specific Seemings get specific extra effects. I suspect some consternation, but I'm keeping an open mind.

I don't think anyone is talking about Witcher 3's mechanics, except that they're better than Witcher 1's. As far as I can tell, everyone is saying how awesome Witcher 3's writing is.

(Please note, by "everyone" in both instances I mean one to three people here. I don't know what people are saying about either in other places.)
