      main venue on Broadway

      Except this place isn't that venue. This is the office of the New York Times theatre section. We criticise games and discuss improvements and the community. Some of us might be producers or actors, but this building we're in isn't for that.

      Or I'll copy my pose into a safe buffer if I need to answer right away.

      I sort of miss forcing myself into doing that. I'd always have a notepad(++) window open and type my poses into that. I, alas, don't have the attention span to care about spawns unless they're on a portion of the main window. I used to split my visual area in half, with one half being the scene the other being the channel/page spam.

      Nobody reasonable can be surprised at the scope or the proliferation of such people and their abuses. As I can only speak for myself, when I express surprise I express such at the particular people so far named not the fact that such things have occurred. There is a level of self-delusional denial that comes with the revelation that people you admire or like are in a position to be accused of such things reviled the civilised world over. If the people we liked can do such things, what the fuck are the people we don't like doing?

      MSB is ideal advertisement space

      It's an ideal place to advertise a thing, sure. That much is evident already.

      @lotherio said in A theme-less, CGen-less game:

      Despite its purpose and utilizations, MSB has more real estate than you give it credit for.

      If it's simply a matter of hosting this sandbox-whatever on the same box as the forum, that's one thing. To make it an "MSB Production" is something I can't see a reason for. If a segment of this little community wants to make a thing, and Ark wants to supply space, that's great. Otherwise, I don't see any reason to put the MSB label on it.

      Staff has to read all the logs? Idk!

      I would say that instead of reading logs, there should be a list of NPC reports stored somewhere. Staff that use the NPC (or player storytellers too, depending on where you want the plot-generation focus to be) write a brief little report of the scene they just had with the important tidbits included.

      "Had scene with Fabian Valentine regarding political appointments, Fabian was a dick to NPC-Prince." etc etc.

      I feel like the only way to get people to work together in a mage setting is to make it so they can't self-solve everything. Mage wasn't really written to do that but in practice, so many games end up in this position.

      Agreed. Especially if you're adding it in as a sphere (when you want inter-sphere dealings), rather than having it on its own. If XYZ can solve every problem, why bother with anything else?

    • RE: RL Anger

      I'm angry right now. But it's that impotent rage of feeling so useless.
      Both my partner and I suffer from bipolar disorder, and they are stuck in the deepest pit of despair I've ever seen them in. They're also 'home' in America (yay visa problems) while I'm at our home in Australia.

      I hate being useless. I hate too that I'm more concerned with my own uselessness than anything else.

      I just want this cycle to end.

      @tek It's a biological imperative.

      My peeve? My mother is visiting, ostensibly so she can "learn how I do things" for when she's housesitting for me while I'm away. Of course she has taken the opportunity to remind me just how many lovely young ladies there are that don't need a visa to live here.

      I'm going away to see my goddamn husband and my in-laws, mother.
