OMH, I am actually looking forward to going back when things were actually difficult in WoW. Remember when the dungeons would actually kick your ass? Now they're all pretty much a cake walk, even in the newest expansion.

@Seamus
Same. I've been missing it for so long. Am glad they finally pulled their heads out of their butts and decided to make this a thing.
I'll only excuse you being off topic if you play WoW Classic and join my guild. Also, would help with mythic+ stuff, but am not that good at the game, plus my computer doesn't currently run WoW.
I think it's the nostalgia thing that's the big draw for a lot of people. But I get what you're saying.

WoW Classic
Am curious as to if anyone will be playing this? Am looking for friends from my various online hangouts to play with and maybe make a guild with.

RE: The OOC Masquerade ?
I think OOC masq should be a player's choice. You don't want to know that the other PC is a whatever? Then you can not look at their wiki, ask them not to tell you, etc. If you want to know, then you can know.

RE: The OOC Masquerade ?
I get not wanting to know what a person's PC is before you/your character finds out during the course of RP. It's fun to puzzle that out and succeeding in discovering that ICly can be deeply satisfying. But, on the other side of the coin, it can make it hard to find reasons to RP anything truly fulfilling. But that's been said by someone else, previously, so I won't beat that horse into glue.

RE: The OOC Masquerade ?
And nothing I said even involved metagaming. I didn't say anything about using it for personal advantage. I simply said that it kind of makes it obvious what sphere a person plays in. As for your example of the PCs who work at night? Sure, that is an exception, but they can still go out to other parts of the grid if you're not RPing where/when they work. So my opinion is still very valid. The OOC masq did not work and was a ridiculous thing for people to have had enforced upon them. Point blank. Full fucking stop.

RE: The OOC Masquerade ?
I think the whole OOC masq kind of... didn't work. As soon as anyone were to say something like 'oh sure, but I have to RP here (which happens to be a night zone)' or whatever their cover was blown. You'd instantly know they play a vampire. And as soon as they make it obvious via RP or whatever, the masq would be blown as well.

RE: General Video Game Thread
I just got Homo Machina for the Switch (it's also an Android and iOS game) for $3. I haven't played it very long, just yet, but it's super awesome so far. It's based on this with the concept being that your body and all of its various systems are a 1920s era factory. It is clever and relaxing and I'm loving it!

RE: twitch
Yay for more St. Jude streamers! I too am trying to raise money for them.

Everything and everyone who was good in this world is leaving us. I am devastated about the loss of our favorite Wookiee.

@Seamus said in SerenityMUSH - Discussion:
@TiredEwok Is there a distro of that somewhere?
I am sure it has to be out there somewhere, just not sure where it'd be. Not a coder so no clue where to start a hunt for it. Look for DarrienSpace/DSpace. Sorry I can't be of more help

RE: SerenityMUSH - Discussion
DSpace is what they use on SW1. I know this for a fact because I wrote a tutorial for it on the wiki.
And sure, jumps take a while with DSpace, but there's no 'oh holy shit, I overshot the planet by a lot, now I'm a week or more away from the nearest planet' which happened to me on Serenity once. Staff was nice enough to help me out and returned the ship to Persephone... was the only time I ever bothered trying to fly on the fucking game.
Give me DSpace. Nice, uncomplicated, enter a few commands and go from point A to B without worries of getting 'lost' and running out of fuel DSpace.

RE: SerenityMUSH - Discussion
I am partial to DSpace, what Star Wars Mush uses. It was nice, simple, fairly intuitive once one can remember the basics. I would be all down for that.

RE: SerenityMUSH - Discussion
HSpace is a flaming turd. Hate it. Never could figure out how to use it, it always found new and horrible ways to fuck with me, and it needs to not be used.

RE: SerenityMUSH - Discussion
I know that my opinion won't be popular, especially with the people who might be feeling nostalgic (which includes me, just to say), but I think breaking away from Mal and Inara entirely and starting a new Firefly-themed game would be for the best. The first advantage would be getting rid of the stench those two and their buddies left, one that apparently is deterring at least one person from joining. Secondly, an entirely fresh database without the code bloat would be awesome. FS3 would be nice because you can code in weapons and such and people can then select from that whenever they're gearing up for a fight. Thirdly, it'd get everyone on an even keel. No having to compete with the few dinosaurs that might be lingering with their twenty gazillion xp poured into their stats and shit.

Ewok For Kids
Hey all. I got over my anxiety of trying to do charity streams and am currently going to be raising money for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital from Today until May 31st. I set the goal for $500 but am hoping we can totally smash that and bring in much, much more for such a good cause. https://tiltify.com/@tiredewok/ewok-for-kids is where you can donate. Please help me get the word out. Thanks!
