I personally am not sure how well received this would be. The war in Vietnam was fucking horrific and I, for one, probably wouldn't play on a game with this as its theme, even if only for inspiration. If you want to do a space-themed game then by all means, please do. But just skip the Vietnam history.

RE: D&D One-Shot Idea
Well, I kind of have basic questions. Like how long is a good length of time for a one-off. I don't want it to be too short, but don't want it to go for too long. Also, how can one balance monster CR with the party's Elle last, which will be eve level 3, etc.

RE: D&D One-Shot Idea
I am hoping people will like it. It's going to be a lot less serious than a lot of D&D campaigns can be, so the humor might not be everyone's cuppa.

D&D One-Shot Idea
This isn't about a mu* that's in the works, but rather a D&D one-shot campaign I am creating as an attempt to get into DMing as well as learning how to stream TTRPGs and all that. If this isn't the proper place for it, feel free to move it to a more appropriate board, mods.
Anyhow, the premise is that it'll be taking place in two locations: A currently-unnamed bakery that appears to be haunted by pastries gone bad, and a currently-unnamed other dimension where the source of those naughty treats can be found. It'll be the party's job to take it out, of course, yadda yadda, etc.
The reason I am writing about it here is because I'd love to get some input and I can't ask any of my circle of friends in case some of them might want to play in it. I will drop ideas here as I get them and y'all can give input/advice, if you'd like.
Thanks in advance from me, who has never done anything like this before.

RE: What Types of Games Would People Like To See?
I have to agree. On the surface, the idea is great but one would have to think about the sustainability of such a theme.

RE: M&M 3E/Champions MU Help For Newbies
Is the Paragon archetype going to be the only one allowed in the game, or will others be allowed as well?

RE: Magicy Shenanigans - high fantasy or more modern
I wouldn't mind a magic-in-an-urban-setting kind of place. Which... makes me want to pick up the first Dresden Files book and see how I like it.
But yes. As much as I love fantasy settings for magic, I think that's been done a lot. Which makes sense as there's a lot you can do with them. But, at the same time, fantasy has been SO OVERDONE, so a different setting would be nice.

RE: System for OC Superhero Game
I was thinking about the other thread where you asked what kind of games people wanted to see and I was going to say an OC hero game.
I remember M&M and Champions being pretty crunchy where the CG went, making it hard for people new to the system to pick it up easily, but despite that, I do have a nostalgic fondness for Champions.

RE: Ensign Sue... the comic
This has been around forever and is, from what I can remember, what people get pointed to when they ask what a Mary Sue/Gary Stu kind of character is. I think it really resonates with readers, because... c'mon. Let's be real here. Not only do we know people who make this kind of character but we've all been guilty about it ourselves at some point.

Oh no! I am sorry. I meant to peek on and check the game out and then totally spaced. Will do so today.

RE: RL things I love
Been needing to replace the left joycon for my Switch for a while now. The price put me off getting a set of two, and I couldn't find a single one in a price that was fair thanks to third party sellers asking for double the price, if not more. Tonight, after getting my payout, I looked and lo and behold! I found an official Switch left joycon for under $40! It's Super Mario themed, too!
Downside is that it'll take a while for it to get here, but I can wait.

RE: Netrunner MUDs
Now I am curious. Which came first: Shadowrun or Netrunner?
And yes, I could've just looked it up, but eh. People are talking about it, so why not just ask here?

RE: Preference for IC Time On A Modern(ish) Game
I really can't stand games that don't use 1:1 when it comes to game time, no offense to those who like it or run games that use something else. Serenity mush used 1:2, if I recall correctly, and it just complicated stuff.
