      Semi-random venting:

Date girl for a few weeks, have slight falling out, remain friends. Feelings grow, she gets a boyfriend. See each other, romance rekindles much stronger. Wait too long, she is afraid to leave her boyfriend and I won't see her while she has one.

      Cockblocked by my own morality.

    • Coming in 2016 - Bump in the Night

Bump in the Night is a Chronicle of Darkness (formerly New World of Darkness 2nd Edition) game set in Southern Maryland in the modern day.

Player Characters on BITN are humans, mere mortals (or on occasion, psychics and the minorly gifted) who are aware of, and concerned with, The Supernatural. The protagonists of BITN are those who have been exposed to the horrors that lurk in the dark. Some are victims of the horrors out there, having survived and escaped the monsters and looking for justice, or revenge. Some are civil servants who have uncovered the truth. Others still are scholars or persons of faith who stumbled on the truth, and seek to study or destroy it.

The aim for Bump in the Night is to tell exciting, pulse pounding horror stories of taking the fight to (or sometimes simply escaping from) the monsters of the world. Staff and player-STs will provide both one off Monster of the Week plots and longer term arcs. During downtime, players will be free to socialize and RP across our grid.

    • Gateway to MUX Entry

I received an email last night from someone who tried to start MUSHing recently. Apparently quite some time ago I had advertised RenoMUSH on Reddit.

Anyway, I had forgotten that. I don't even have any presence at RenoMUSH any longer, but I was found and contacted by this person. And they had some things to point out about their experience.

Let me state that none of this should be taken personally, and is not in any way a jab at the fine fiolks currently running Reno. I wanted to share this email because I thought it was telling on perhaps why we don't have new people.

      *Hello Sean,

I'm writing this email to you to let you know i had stumbled upon your site off a reddit post and was interested to try it out a new medium for the game. I Found it extremely difficult to well navigate, create and play. The Wiki is very shallow on the technical aspect of how to connect, how to make your sheet and so on and so forth. I found another website Fallcost but not sure if the same commands work. With in the client i found the lack of well a New User tutorial lacking as well. I Spent about an hour trying to piece together a character not even sure how i can contact staff to help. Anyway i wrote this to you just to bring it your attention that as a new person to your site and to the MUX experince i was totally lost.

p.s:I had to get this email of a thirdparty website (mudconnector?) so i hope i've reached out to the right person

Have a wonderful and Long Weekend. *

I'm with @Arkandel. Why would you want to be with someone who was willing to cheat? You deserve better, obviously, given your own high morality.

I was very much avoiding asking myself that question.

Absolutely try and stitches to taking the medication as prescribed. It is important, and you may need time for them to take effect. Most medication for mental illness is not a quick fix or temporary treatment but a long term management.

      Dear @tragedyjones.

I'm a relatively young Ventrue who was Embraced during college. None of my friends know I died or that I'm now a creature of the night. They think I just disappeared for a few years due to a breakdown from stress (I was pre law). I still maintain contact with them for dinner and theatre dates and they don't have a clue.

My problem is that now we're in our thirties, they're starting to get married. I've already had to miss three weddings because they were scheduled for noon. My coterie says I should just break ties with them but I don't want to do that.

My question is this: a fourth friend just got engaged and they're setting the date. Should I dominate them into an evening ceremony or just resign myself to another missed wedding? Do I still need to buy a wedding gift for them if I'm not going?

      Asleep During Daytime

Asleep During Daytime, you have a few ways to handle this. First, you're young and new to your Requiem. If you are durable enough, and as a Ventrue you may know some Resilience, you could try and be a badass and attend the wedding, at least the ceremony, and leave early claiming you aren't feeling well - the sunburn will help corroborate your story. If you're fully fed you can survive an hour or two in the daylight without taking any aggravated wounds, but be sure to have a snack planned.

If you are already considering Dominating them to alter the ceremony, perhaps you can do that, but this is a dangerous path. It only gets easier to break people after the first try. Are they your friends then, or just meat-puppets to bend to your will?

And yes, you should send a gift. Especially if they are well to do in the mortal world, you should continue to cultivate those allies!

You know that cliche scene in a movie where someone unskilled is forced to do a delicate operation while the real professional is stuck having to walk them through it?

That was @Thenomain and I getting BITN restarted.

    • TV as MUSH (aka mocking True Blood)

Based on a fun chat yesterday on Eldritch, I suggest people watch schlocky, trashy TV series as if they were a MU. You get to rewatch things and make hilarious comparisons.

      (Spoilers for True Blood Follow)

      Situations like:

      • Aborted Becomings! (Sorry Jason, we've decided not to implement Werepanthers)

      • Minor TS Alts that disappear (Bill's descendant he was banging and then vanished)

      • Overly Dramatic Death Scenes (Godric)

      • Forced Justification of Spends (Tara becomes an MMA fighter!)

      • Killing off unwanted PCs (Tara, again!)
