    • Three Cheers for Staffers!

Many consider Staffing a thankless job, and for many staffers it might be. And for some I am sure it is a thrill, rush of power over another player.

But for the majority of those I have met, they simply want to provide a good time for others and keep this hobby they love moving strong.

So thank you all, staffers. Especially my badass team of staffers, but all of you across the games: thank you.

    • Seeking Women for Multi-Game Harem

I have decided that it is far beyond the time I have an e-Harem of my own. So I am taking applications. Members of the Harem will be expected to follow me from game to game. Currently I am playing on Eldritch.

Requirements: Must be willing to show your tits, must accept unsolicited dick pics AND praise me for having "like seriously a big cock". If I decide to ever RP you must make a female character with a pb of my choosing to TS when I decide, and also not play with other guys. Don't be a slut.

As a member of my harem I promise to listen to you talk about how horrible your life is, especially if you have a boyfriend/girlfriend/SO who isn't satisfying you. I shall intimate that I of course would totally sex you up right, but you are so far away.

Please send all inquiries to my chat window.

    • A New Golden Age?

Some quick backstory - I started playing RPGs and MUSHes in 1996. I played MU fairly often for about 5 years, back in the dark (metal) ages, on dial-up in RAW Telnet. Back then I recal there being a lot of games, and the hobby was awesome.

I returned pretty much full time in 2010. First at NYC, then TR and well anyone who knows me or gives a shit knows what I have done from there.

In my experience, however, it always felt like there were slim pickings of places to play. You had HM, and then you had TR and that was about it. But this is changing, and it rules.

Focusing -just- on nWoD 2nd Edition, I can go and play Vampire the Requiem on 3 games today. In about a month there will be another. There will be multiple games with multiple combinations of spheres and themes. The community feels like it is coming together to create, rather than stagnate.

In general, this is a thread to celebrate what I hope is going to be a new era, at the very least for WoD Gamers. And I want to thank all of the people who have helped with this, but three people in particular:

@Thenomain and @Cobaltasaurus have worked their code magic on multiple games, and have worked to create an easy to use system of code that can be reused to create many games. Thank you.

@Chime is an amazing (and amazingly busy) person who provides awesome and stable hosting for these games to live on.

So thanks everyone, and remember - If I can make a game, not once, but twice, you can steal enough code and information to do it yourself!

    • Tragedyjones' Harem-a-thon 2016: Reno Edition

Been a while, MSB. I think it is time we had a chat. And this chat, is about what you can do for me.

And that is: Fawn over my mediocre and rusty TS skillz.

I am making a character on Shadows over Reno. This character is a maladjusted Werewolf who is a delightful blend of Ricky Fitts from American Beauty and Kylo Ren. Angry, brooding, great with a camera and will totally break you.

What I want from YOU: Tell me I'm a pretty princess, but, like, in a manly way. Bonus points for constantly referencing how big my beard and or penis are. Double bonus points if your RL husband/boyfriend/girlfriend/body pillow is totally not as sexy as I am. Also, I am going to like, own your character. I mean not literally, that is slavery. But don't expect to play with anyone else. Unless they are a hot chick and totally want to make out. Then do it. And log it. And send it to me.

What you get: You get to be ignored by me! Except when I demand attention. Also I won't TS you because I will be busy not logging in for days at a time and honestly, who has the time for that? But I'll make you think I want it and if I change my mind, I promise, you'll be first on the list.

Please make all applications here in the thread. I will evaluate your Harem-worthiness. As for requirements, you must be a totes hot chick or be willing to play one. Your PB can be skinny with big tits or skinny with small tits - I'm flexible.

    • What MU/RPG opinions have you changed or maintained?

This post is starting as a discussion. What did you do 1, 5, 10 or more years ago in games that you regret? What do you still believe is a proper and right decision?

      My answer follows:

I started my "modern" MU career in 2010-2011. I had played in the 90s, and a small bit on a Scion game in the aughts, but my real heavy return was on NYC Mush. I played Werewolf and Vampire (and briefly Mage) and staffed as well.

I introduced my ex girlfriend and we played together there, and then briefly on HM, and then for a long fucking time on The Reach.

It doesn't seem that long ago, but when I started on TR, when I began STAFFING, was still in my 20s (barely, I'm 37 now). But I had opinions on games and how to play them. Some of them I feel were right and some I feel may have been misguided.

Strong opinion I now regret? ICA always equals ICC. If you did something that my character felt justified a certain response, I'd respond as such. I engaged in some serious (and not so serious) PVP - from hacking and stalking, to financial warfare, to outright murder (or Torpor, which is often just as bad). I always put my character's decisions front and center, they were the lead character of their own film.

This is, I reflect back, more than a little bit of a dick move. I always say I try to stick as close to Tabletop as possible, and in tabletop, the PCs are the protagonists, the ones who matter. On a MU, every PC presumably matters to the person playing them. I didn't consider their OOC feelings, usually. It was OOCly to me "just business".

tl;dr on that front I was a dick to you, probably. My B.

A strong opinion I still hold, is that a game needs to stick to the fucking theme of whatever game it is meant to be. If you are a Chronicles of Darkness game, you should either reflect the books, or mak eit clear what you are doing. Tone should be, while not consistent and omnipresent in every scene, reinforced and supported. Significant departures from established lore, such as Pure-Forsaken handholding, or Vampire's being completely nice and sweet and just humans with cool goth powers, should either be frowned upon and removed, or else reflected in the game's specific lore and story. Don't punish a player for playing the game you advertise to be playing.

    • The State of the Chronicles of Darkness

I figured I would attempt to start a thread to compile various bits of information, gleamed primarily from theonyxpath.com via the blog and forums. Note that when I refer to world of darkness, I refer to the newest iteration, not the original.

      2nd Editions

As of Gencon 2014, the World of Darkness is moving into a set of 2nd Edition books, with updated rules and theme. Unlike previous editions, each line's core book will contain everything needed to play, though not as in depth as the seperate core rules, and only what is needed for that particular game. For isntance, Vampire the Requiem 2nd Edition skimps on rules for Angels and Spirits, as well as many merits.

What about GGd-Machine/Blood and Smoke/The etc Chronicles?

The books formerly referred to as Chronicles are being revamped, either before or after release, into 2nd Editions. For example, Vampire: the Requiem 2nd Edition is now available in place of Blood and Smoke: the Strix Chronicles. Content remains the same, just a new name and cover. Further titles will be 'featuring the whatever' Chronicles, ie Promethean: the Created 2nd Edition featuring the Firestorm Chronicles. The God-Machine Chronicles was released as a replacement/supplement to the core blue World of Darkness rulebook from 2004. The rules changes are still available for free, but relies on the older book. A revamped, consolidated "World of Darkness 2nd Edition" is set for release in 2015.

      Anthologies

Prior to each release of each game has been a fiction anthology. God-Machine, Strix, Idigam and Firestorm Chronicle Anthologies are all released These are just that - fiction, often a mix of old and new designed to reafirm the themes of the game and provide a look at their world.

      What is already out

      • Vampire: the Requiem 2nd Edition (Featuring the Strix Chronicles)
      • Werewolf: the Forsaken 2nd Edition (Featuring the Idigam Chronicles)
      • Demon: the Descent
      • Splintered City: Seattle (for Demon)
      • Heirs to Hell: the Demon Player Guide

What is coming out (Game lines)

      • Mage: the Awakening 2nd Edition (Featuring the Fallen World Chronicles)
      • Promethean: the Created 2nd Edition (Featuring the Firestorm Chronicles)
      • Changeling: the Lost 2nd Edition (Featuring the Huntsman Chronicles)
      • Beast: the Primordial
      • Hunter: the Vigil 2nd Edition
      • Deviant: the ??? (Scarcely announced new game line)

      What is coming out (supplements)

      • A Thousand Years of Night (VtR - covers the unlife of Elders)
      • Half-Damned (VtR - covers ghouls, dhampires, thralls, revenants and the like)
      • Secrets of the Covenants (VtR - Covers the 5 major covenants presented in the
VtR core rules in more depth, with both fluff and crunch)
      • Hurt Locker (Core WoD - Combat and all things related to such)
      • Dark Eras (All known lines except Beast and Deviant - Historical setting chapters for each game)

      What is NOT coming

2nd Edition versions of the following games have yet to be announced: Mummy: the Created, Geist: the Sin-Eaters.

Glitch edited the title by request

    • RE: RL Anger

I have an addiction. I am not using any substance or anything, but I feel I am addicted nonetheless to a certain behavior. I am a frequent customer of strip clubs, and I need to stop.

In February alone I've spent close to $600 in these clubs. Sometimes I don't even enjoy myself, I just long for physical contact and/or a sexual touch. Sometimes I enjoy the fantasy or being charming or handsome, when girls are encouraged to feign interest in you to get that money.

I need to find a way to break this cycle. Starting today I am going to try and stop. Good luck, me.
