You likely shouldn't be drinking diet sodas even if you are diabetic; studies suggest that consuming diet sodas may increase insulin resistance.
Which studies? Do you have any links? I've heard this before but the sum total of wading through the studies I have found come down to: Drinking diet soda frequently seems to lead to an unhealthy lifestyle and dietary decisions that contribute to blah blah blah.
Considering I never said that I have no idea which studies @BetterJudgment was referring too.
The most horrifying thing I have seen on a MU* was Sithen/Silverblue. It was just this headtilt, and vague kind of smile posed so well that you could almost hear his sanity snap. Nothing gory or overtly horrible just...yeah. Very well done.
But yeah hard to do, and everyone has a different threshold.
He has something of a talent for writing unlikeable protagonists. If that can really be called a talent
I would love a Hunter only game. I liked the theme of Hunter and tried two of them on TR, but between folks fucking Supernaturals and being pressured into PVP it didn't work out for me.
I love baking and cooking. Sadly none of us in the household should have too many baked goods for various reason Still my TT group appreciates what we don't/shouldn't eat
There is a LOT of misinformation about diet drinks out there. Overall you are probably better off avoiding them if you can, but. The insulin effects are only for people with a certain type of gut flora. The sweet craving thing, maybe, but my sense of sweet is so reset I cannot handle full sugar processed food and soda anyway. So I grab some fruit.
It also means I get a decent caffeine hit for pretty much 0 calories, not hundreds. And very few carbs.
So avoid as much as possible, but they ain't the devil.
Switch to water and diet drinks. Avoid white foods (rice, flour, potatoes) as much as you can. 30 mins walking or something similar.
Won't claim it is easy but can be done. Lost 15 odd kilos myself.
The whole her characters have lots of sex because THEY HAVE TO OR THEY DIE. Makes me cringe.
But I love the universe/worldbuilding though.
I admit to likely the Anita Blake world, some fascinating things there. But the writing and implementation. Author got issues
The other thing that tends to polarize people is that it really encourages cooperative storytelling. And some ST's don't like letting go I have found.
I could not agree more Thenomain. To me they are what makes the game Encourage failing in fun ways to advance the story, or at least to take risks. And fun to write up
@icanbeyourmuse Hmm hard question to answer as to a degree it does depend on the individual. FATE by itself is not too hard, one you grasp Aspects etc, but some of the supernatural stuffs, Magic especially gets trickier. But there as some nice guides on the page, and plenty of helpful folks.
As regards to the Dresdenverse. Long series of books, that IMHO are worth reading. Again lots of helpful people and starting as a vanilla mortal is viable. Lots of good reasons to be in Oxford.
As far as places to start MU*ing the original ToT was pretty good. My first real start too, as Rogan and Einone IIRC.
If you like Dresdenverse Dark Spires is quite good. Nice and helpful players, cool staff. Little tolerance for drahmaz. But it does run FATE which some folks don't like
People who try to push past those getting out of a train/bus/tram. Doubly pissed off if the person getting off has to walk with a cane. Seriously, 5 seconds worth of patience.
I did a blacksmithing course. Which was awesome. Would love to do more but time/energy/setup and such makes it difficult.
For what it is worth I really like the idea
All the Rivers of London, or Quiet Riot as it is called in the US for some reason. Ben Aaronovitch.
