At a brief glance I couldn't spot a thread on this, so I thought I would start one to highlight interesting ones. And to start with for us old folks...Classic turn-based Battletech on the computer

@Lithium Not to mention the -vast- power disparity between Inquisitorial Acolytes, Imperial Guard, Rogue Traders and Space Marines. So first thing would be to pick which game to focus on I suppose.

It is late so my brain is a little fried so take this with a grain of salt but obvious first step would be to pick which game to focus on. I just had a thought that Deathwatch might work best, as teams may shift about based on the needs of the mission. Of course not too much to do in downtime, although the RPG game does present them as more than biological robots.

Could have a rogue trader flotilla, with folks as fairly junior crew members. Basically something with a hierarchy that -really- frowns upon killing off other allies.

So Dark Heresy is probably not your best bet, as killing the acolytes of other inquisitors is not that uncommon.

Just some thoughts, sadly I don't have a great solution for you.

@Lithium Have you read the RPG's? They do a better job of making it less meat-grindy.
But yeah it is a huge setting, and very small group focused. One possibility would be embracing that in a grinder type game like the World War games that were running for quite some time.

@Sunny So much fucking this. Added to the conspiracy theory that Marijuana cures everything, and big pharma is just hiding that from us as they can't make money.
My oldest friend is part of a team studying it, his father passed away from cancer earlier this year. If it actually worked outside of a petri dish you would think he would give it to his fucking dad?

It does do some things, but is not the fucking cure for cancer. And no Big Pharma is not hiding that.

It doesn't have to be about travel, although that can be a big part of it. Set it in a place like Freiburg where almost any concept works, and maybe have a bit of handwaviem if folks want to sail the seas or whatever.

I would kill you all for a 7th Sea MU*. Well save for those running and coding it of course 😛

My MRI scan results were all good. Looks like I am part of the tiny percentage where avastin works really well.

Not a cure but I will make it to Christmas this year, and more importantly Star Wars 🙂

I auto-log because after everything during the last few years my memory sucks. I also have to take notes on things too 😞

Whilst the science is far from settled on the effects of probiotic products, the fact that gut bacteria have a huge effect on your body is pretty clear.

Most folks here play MUSH/MUX/MOO. I have never heard of the concept of swift typing counting for much.

There are MU*'s that work combat on how quickly you can type? Sure you are not looking for MMOs 😛

Considering gender of players is about parity I would suggest there may be more to this story.

I have had a lot of fun there, only issue is some OOC room idiots. But they are everywhere.

It seems to cop a lot of flack, perhaps for things in the past, but I am finding Tenebrae really awesome. Very encouraging towards new players and getting them involved, some cool bonuses for getting on the grid and RPing (although it does suffer from people in the OOC room sitting and waiting on plot) and easy for players to run plots on. And despite some OOC room idiots who think they are cute, most people are kind and helpful.

So for whatever it is worth a thumbs up from me.

It has been a while since I played but IIRC Iron Bull introduces you to a qunari phrase that is more or less "I am going to touch myself tonight thinking of that"

    • RE: Rewards in WoD

That is one of the things that always got me, folks running around with stats like Int boosted to 8-9 permanently. Maybe my interpretation is wrong, but at that level trying to deal with normal people would be frustrating at best. I know when I did it for a scene with Brigit she was solving 50 'irrelevant' things at once, and then getting to the point at hand. Before she pretty much blew a mental gasket and collapsed.

Not 100% my interpretation of nWoD stats is correct, either way it was fun to play. Shame no-one wrote down the perfect brownie recipe though 😞
