RE: Spars and fights
I've always seen RL training as a sort of double edged sword. I used to do emote fighting all the time (though with dice/some sort of mechanics to be a neutral factor in determining outcome) and never really like people being too detailed in techniques. Saying you throw a punch to someone's face is fine, don't need to elaborate on how you rotate the arm and align the proper knuckles to strike, unless you purposefully want to highlight how you aren't doing that to get yourself a broken hand.
It's why "pronate" "supinate" thing amused me so much. Chances are the people involved aren't master swordsman and probably have no idea what's actually involved with the mechanics of edge and flat alignment or the strong and weak, etc etc. I remember we had a player that was a high belt of some sort in aikido and used to always do these elaborate aikido poses that no one could figure out what he was trying to accomplish because the style is so complicated and makes a lot of assumptions on the other persons reactions.
It's a hard thing to get right and need to decide if you want realism, a more cinematic experience or a balance of the two.

RE: TS - Danger zone
I very very very rarely will read someone desc. Usually only if they mention something in it. I also have brief mode turned on so I don't read room descs either. 99% of the time the short desc/room title and other peoples poses are enough to go on. I also rarely look at PBs and probably the best way to put it is that I visualize a character more as a concept than a person. Dunno, I stopped care about descs probably a decade ago and can't say I noticed a difference. If a game requires a desc for chargen nine times out of ten I'm just reusing one from an old character.
And as others have said there are more factors at play than just playing a dude in public. I played a celibate character for so long that it tends to flavor my RP in a way that doesn't invite propositions unless I'm actively trying to make the dude flirty.

RE: Good TV
You just need to rotate services in and out depending on what you want to watch

But is TSing the prince more viable than FTB with the prince?
Probably not? I mean, I'd take it to FTB, but if people wanna play it out then is there any practical difference?
Practical difference, no. But realistically based on historical behavior that has been anecdotally witnessed by many there will be a difference.

RE: Privacy in gaming
A conversation in line at Wendy's isn't (probably) recorded and archived for who knows how long. but Ares also logs And archives Page conversations. not to pick on Ares, it's awesome and those features are awesome but Privacy is the topic at hand.
But yeah, privacy policy! State it, repeatedly. Even "you have no expectation of privacy when you log in" works. Just let people know what they're getting in to.

The only way to actually fix this, imo, is to get the systems in and tested and then do a hard reboot
The systems aren't in yet, nor tested. Keep that arc moving, it'll be awhile.

RE: Good TV
I was going to wait for the whole season of the Mandalorian to be released before getting Disney+ but that decision was made by someone else and I ended up watching it episode by episode a few days after each was released.
By comparison I've watched Episode 1 of the Witcher and haven't really had the urge to go back just yet compared to other options (Letterkenny, mostly)

Is he trying to impersonate Mr Robot?
This. He's the type of guy that watch Mr. Robot, googled Metasploit and bought himself a black hoodie. He's a hacker now.
It does make me wonder.. The majority of MUers don't frequent MSB. I wonder what narrative he is spinning to other people about this.

RE: Good TV
As someone that was born and spent a lot of time in rural farmland on the Canadian border I really get a lot of the show.
It has been a kind of happy surprise to me that a lot of urban folks like it too

the assumptive norm of live action
This I think is the draw to MUing for a lot of people so that's hard.
It isn't for me, so it doesn't bother me. My "normal" ranges from 5 minutes to an hour between poses since I almost always am scening from work, but I also have done scenes that span over several weeks with poses every few days and I don't have a problem being 'in the moment' for those.
I do think a Pacing field for Ares scenes would be a good idea, even if it is just a text box to enter it in. "Live Action", "Daily", "Glacial", "WildBaboons Thinks You Are Rushing Things"

There's a grid that even has some descs and stuff. It's almost a real thing.

RE: COVID-19 Assistance Thread
I think a lot of places are like that, even if they haven't run out of tests yet but are trying to make it so they don't.
My state has a relatively small reported outbreak (142 as of yesterday, 100 of which are in a small geographic area) but have performed 3400 tests. That's a really small percentage of positive results compared to the number of tests performed and that's with only testing people that are considered Tier 1 for testing which includes:
- Hospitalized patients
- Health Care Workers
- First Responders
- Residents of nursing homes, jails, assisted living, large group living type places
Unless someone qualifies in one of those groups, the state CDC is telling doctors to make a clinical diagnosis. I know a lot of people I've talked to see only the number of positive results and think they just are not doing much testing, but don't realize that that they are actually testing 20-30 times that many people. There are a few other, faster testing methods approved, many of which use existing equipment that a lot of labs have on hand, but I am too far from the logistics of that process to know what the actual delivery time on those test kits will be.
The point stands though, if you think you have it, act like you have it. Follow the guidelines.

With the caveat that @WildBaboons is the ultimate owner and decider of such things, from conversations I've had with him, I don't think Aes Sedai are going to be locked behind any kind of barrier to entry, other than perhaps knowing enough about Aes Sedai to play one.
There will be balances to be made across 'how much do I want strength with the five elements of the Source' vs 'how much do I want to have other abilities and advantages', but that in and of itself is a decision for the player to make.This. Aes Sedai available right out of chargen.
If people want to come in as Novice/Accepted they are welcome to but the storyline itself is only going to last a year or two so would not be enough time to be Raised from start to finish
