Dunno if it really needed to be said at this point, but I'm shelving this for I'm not sure how long. I was having a ton of fun writing theme files and playing with FATE but I really haven't had the exposure to the hobby I feel like I need to actually run a game in a long time.
Hopefully I can come back to this some day, I am still super fond of the idea.
It would likely be a really fun project, but you should probably be prepared to spend a lot of time on it.
Definitely. Like I said, it's sort of a dream project I've had for a while and may not even be a viable game, but I would love to see it realized. Thank you guys so much for the input, it's a great start!
Looks like I just got an email for the official release of City of Mist on Modiphius.net and DriveThruRPG.com. This means someone should try and make it a MUSH reality.
I dunno, I don't think I'd need to change much else and I honestly think the only real hardcore mechanical changes I've suggested so far are cutting Mana and its associated ties to Arcana, and how reach works. Just the changes above would still basically be familiar and play more or less the same, I think, so maybe at this point I just need to write some crap up and test it and see how it feels.
@Wizz Also, one thing that would be made easier by having the Auspices be universal (or close enough) is that if we wanted to add a custom breed (like the Camazotz, or something else) it wouldn't be a matter of creating a TON of new mechanical content. Only, like, half a ton. Heh.
Generally, I kind of hate the old themes of Classic WoD, with a few exceptions. Vampire is okay and I actually don't hate on Mage, alone. But Werewolf is something I will never be able to go back too.
