San Francisco: Paris of the West

@admiral
What's the Vampire sphere landscape like? Requiem 1e is something I'm interested in, and I would love to know if there's actually political interplay incentive, or if the sphere itself is reliant on partying with other spheres (no offense intended).

@darc Make it 99 - a Mage should never be quite 100, after all.
Mages = luftballons?
-
@bobotron It's wide open right now. ICly, there aren't many vampires in the city.
The plots I've seen are primarily self-contained within the vampire sphere and you are incentivized for your involvement through 'Coins' which can be used for political purposes.
So there's plenty of incentive, I'd say, and multiple angles to come at the political stuff from.

@tnp Does that mean they'll all explode?

Couple of things to help that: Ever see the John Wick movies? Remember the gold coins that were used to purchase 'stuff' in that unusual world? That is how Vampires on Paris of the West handle Prestation. Doing things for a vampire gets you coins. Requesting a favor? It'll cost you coins. Want something from the Prince? Coin. Banes and Boons start to make sense for once. If that doesn't help political play, nothing else will.
Aside from that... the Vamp TL was chomping at the bit to get political RP started, so Court is going on RIGHT NOW despite the fact that we're not officially 'open' yet.

@admiral
Do you have an idea of what weight there is to various Clans/Covenants? I am leaning Daeva Invictus or Gangrel Ordo.@Darc
Coins = physical boon currency. Interesting. NPC Court so far? -
I actually have a question that I don't think has been fully/officially answered or even specifically asked anywhere:
This game is set in 2025, with an emphasis on another tech boom and a building/megacorp facility called Salesforce tower, wealth disparity, etc, and the official Theme reads like something right out of Cyberpunk 2020... How 'cyberpunk' is this game going to be? What is the technology like in 2025 San Fran?

Cyberpunk is definitely an influence in our theme. But we're leaning much more to the -punk than the cyber- in cyberpunk. We pointedly used a nearby year (2025) so that the technology is similar (ermahgerd, iPhone 15!) but no holograms. Essentially, the technology is the same, except... well, that's a spoiler, never mind.

Yeah, if you had made any sort of substantial progress on the character, then you probably got an @mail informing you that you were still good to apply.
Yes, I'm Gabriel (I mention that I'm the Mage TL earlier in this thread, but it's easy to miss). 20 mages are approved. 16 mages are in the approval queue, and made it into the cap. So, not quite 40, but quite a few more than the 25 I was hoping for. Once I have a Mage Admin at my side and we're in a good rhythm, we'll re-set the cap at something loftier.Cool, that's good to know. To clarify for people who will apply in the future after the reset: how many mages were in the queue who didn't make the first cap?

This is relevant how, again?
-
@derp
Because there's gotta be something to bitch about? -
Or maybe people want to know if there are already 15 people waiting to pounce on the 5 mage spots that may open up in the future?
-

@Derp and @Bobotron: What @WildBaboons said. You obviously have a popular Sphere going and that's great. As a result people want to get involved. I don't think it's unreasonable to ask, so expectations are managed and hopes don't get dashed.

None, as I understand it, that's the point. Everyone who was there making a character before it was marked full got in, which is why the cap is higher then intended.
IE, they didn't fuck anyone over.

Did the MU officially go live today?
-
@ziggurat I am not an official to say officialness, but there's been folks approved for a week or two now. There was the "Grand Opening" event today, started with an (IC) speech by the mayor. There's a few sphere-specific events happening also.
-
We are, as of today, OFFICIALLY OPEN! We got things off to a bang with a speech from our Mayor, Johnny Depp (I'm not paraphrasing, the actor has gone into politics), along with a few sphere-specific scenes following closely thereafter.
See you folks on-grid!

And now I want to make a reporter character covering the political beat just to write a scandal story titled: Depp Charge Blasts City Council
-
@bad-at-lurking The scandal also involves the council's treasurer, Jeremy Schmidt. "Council In Depp-Schmidt."
