@Duntada I've been meaning to change my avatar. There was a meme on the board and everyone changed their avatars to cartoon boobs. So I joined in! And now I'm the only one left. I can't let go of the memes.

I NEED HELP/Advice.
I recently bought 2 Nintendo Switch game vouchers for $100 hoping to buy 2 copies of Ultimate Alliance 3 and gift one my SO for her to have on her switch. Warning: Read the FAQs first; you can't share these 2-for-100 game vouchers as a gift or between family accounts.
So I got Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3, but have one game voucher left. I'm considering Zelda Breath of the Wild or Super Smash.
Anyone have good suggestions? 2 player would be nice so long as it's a good couple's game.
Here is what I own/have access to currently:
- Marvel Ultimate 3
- Battle Chasers
- Diablo 3
- Octopath Traveler
- Mariokart 8
- Pokemon Evee (Fuck you. Dont judge)

I mean. If you want multi-player, get Smash.
But my recommendation would be Zelda.

@Ghost I have Pokemon Eevee too. No shame here.
I'd suggest Dragon Quest Builders 2, but only because I'm a giant nerd and enjoying that game far, far more than I have any other recent games.

Fact: The things that playing half a day of CKII makes you mutter under your breath are not things you should ever, ever, EVER say out loud in front of other people. Especially when you are playing as Catholic Asturias.
-
@Aria I bought the board game and tried to explain to my mom how the various horse antics were not creepy at all. I don't think I succeeded.

@Admiral Fortunately, my husband plays, so he completely understood -- but also laughed at -- my rant about how I'm supposed to get rid of my horrible heir who got caught murdering one of his brothers after they went and disabled it so you can't plot to murder your own kids. Like, maybe lock him in a dungeon and hope with the health modifier, he dies?
I insisted this was totally fine given the remarkable amount of religious tolerance I've implemented despite the number of times I've had holy war declared on me by my one neighbor.
It's not murder. It's justice. Look at me, the fair and righteous ruler. >.>
-
@Aria I've had this issue come up in multiplayer CK2 games where myself and friends just start talking about objectively awful things like it's nothing. Here's a real conversation that happened with nobody batting an eye.
"Hey, can you come kill my firstborn son? He's inbred."
"Sure thing. You should probably break up with your brother so that stops happening."
"Not yet, I wanna try and get an attractive baby."

If you're a fan of rogue-like RPG style games with a twist of Slay the Spire card action, check out Griftlands on Steam. It's not available yet but looks like it will have a lot of promise. Klei is doing the game - that's the devs of Don't Starve and Oxygen Not Included.

So I finished Far Cry 5.
43 hours. What can I say? I like me some side-quest'n.
There was a game-breaking bug at the end that has no place being there, considering how long the game's been out.
I have to say that I liked it. I can't imagine playing it again, and there was one section...let's call it the Red Nightmares...that was un-fun for me as someone who normally doesn't play FPSes, but after putting the game down on "easy" it could be tolerated for as brief as they were.
But I never had a question what I was supposed to do, even in the boss fights. I wasn't bored otherwise; it felt fairly tight. The unique companions always had me engaged and often laughing, even when they got far too repetitive.
I'm not sure what I felt about the overall portrayal of themes, but I don't think they ever betrayed the idea of Country Folk vs. Cultists, the question of what is family and what is community.
Yeah, I liked it. Solid "A" grade.

I really want to play Hellblade.
But no stores around here have physical copies.
And I only have my phone as an ISP and it is not suitable to huge downloads (as I found out from the MANY MANY DAYS of Days Gone updates).
I'm clearly gonna have to order this bitch from Amazon or something.

I've been glued to Fire Emblem: Three Houses (go, Golden Deer!), but then I saw this trailer for Borderlands 3:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RxYRcRWZdkE
I was grousing because the song choice was cheesy, then singing along, then sorta jealous of whatever they were obviously on when they made that video. I wanna play Zane and Amara SO BAD.

Fire Emblem is amazing so far (I’m not very far into it). Really liking what they’ve done to get away from the same old same old FE mechanics. The new class system seems pretty cool.
It’s really strange to see how well the “daily life” mechanics of Persona + Trails of Cold Steel /etc keep you engaged.
Which, on that note, it definitely feels like Fire Emblem: Trails of Cold Steel edition so far. Which is a compliment.

I'm a few years late, but I finished Persona 5 tonight (131 hours!) and, man, it was a lot of fun.
