I feel the pain of glasses and face mask. I have to wear a face through 18 hour shifts and I have to wear goggles over my glasses. I have terrible vision and with goggles over my glasses my vision is worse and I have to get my mask just right so it doesn't fog up.
-
And the gov issued blue plastic isolation gowns - they are sort of like wearing giant trash bags and/or one of those get skinny by sweating it off suits! I get so thirsty and hot wearing them. And then one combines it with all the other gear, I feel like I am wrapped up in bubble wrap and cannot breath.
On the other hand, I am glad we have supplies and wouldn't think of not wearing them!
-
@kk Feel you one hundred percent on every part of it. My facility has face shields rather than goggles, but I hate those damn things. The thin, wavery plastic distorts light so badly I wonder if looking through one is what it's like to go blind. Everything is so dim I can't see details, or barely even colors, just shapes.

I've been a Debbie downer lately, and it probably won't stop.
But I'm making a cake and I feel like I should be telling people not to run or the cake will fall. #weirdchildhoodhangovers

I think we all misjudged Kavanaugh a little as to his jurisprudential leanings.
Wasn't he supposedly someone Kennedy hand-picked to succeed him? Granted, this is more an indictment of Kennedy than anything else.
-
@Three-Eyed-Crow Did Kennedy like beer too?

The holiday depression is real this year.

Very belatedly, as I haven't posted outside of Hog Pit in a while.
I forgot I was posting about my grandmother here. She's basically fully recovered, though she has diabetes now thanks to my parents never fucking listening to me, so I'm trying to get this house better than it was before so that she can return.
Also trying to kick my roommate out because I'm basically sick of dealing with bullshit like having to listen to a 15 minute excuse for why he can't flush the toilet, and then he acts like I'm the bad guy.
I will have a new roommate soon. A MUSHing friend who I actually want to live with, rather than a shitty emergency situation like I'm in now.
I'm selling my expensive synth to buy two other synths because basically I've realized that I can get more from these other two and they function more practically. My current synth is great, but I ran up against its limitations in that to get the sounds I want requires so much programming to the point that I basically never use it.
If you're curious what I'm gonna use the money to buy in its place: https://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/Wavestate--korg-wavestate-wave-sequencing-synthesizer
https://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/OPSIX--korg-opsix-altered-fm-synthesizer
If you aren't familiar with synthesizers, they might look basically the same. But they are veeeeeeeeeery different beasts that make veeeeeeeery different sounds. One is a primarily sample based synth that is kind of a more advanced version of the Wavestation from 30 years ago (just listen to the Donkey Kong Country soundtracks and imagine the technology advancing 30 years).
The Opsix is an FM synthesizer... just listen to any Sega Genesis game soundtrack and imagine the technology advancing 30 years (but Streets of Rage is the best example, because Yuzo Koshiro is a genius FM programmer).
I've lost about 30 pounds in the last two months, due to suddenly shifting to a permanently better way of eating, and also working out a lot and lifting weights. But I'm also stressed out for reasons I can't quite put my finger on. Feels like it's lots of small reasons. But either way, hopefully I'll be done with those things too. I feel like everything is going well, aside from needing to kick my roommate out. So I don't know, I'm sure I'll figure it all out soon. I even got my roof patched up. I can't afford a full replacement, but for now it's patched up enough to keep rain and stuff out.

Good! The stress may be from all of the different things you are trying to accomplish.

That's true. There's kind of this air of, I feel a lot of high tension and just kind of want to relax.
I actually ordered some CBT from reputable company that my friends recommended, though it's not here yet.

just leaving this here for people, no reason

I mean, not to bring up potentially awkward things from other threads, but:
Buff + Clown = Cirque du Soleil, and dude. That would be badass.

I have tested positive.
We will be missing Thanksgiving, and my little girl is beside herself.
At least it's not Christmas.
-
I am so sorry.
-
@Ganymede Take care of yourself and get better soon. So sorry to hear about this.
-
Thinking of you. I hope your symptoms are the most mild ever. Please take care of yourself.

I don't know WTF is wrong with my legs. I've NEVER had dry skin issues, beyond needing some lotion now and then in the winter. Right now, my legs itch almost constantly, and I've scratched myself bloody more than once.
Different lotions, creams, moisturizers, and nothing seems to really work. I've cooled down the showers I take, use moisturizing body wash... I just.. I'm so befuddled.
