I got the job and they said they were very impressed by me on Monday and had no hesitation in wanting to extend the offer.

So today was my appointment to get meds. ...until it was cancelled, and now I have to wait until 7/17. I'm just so annoyed.

I really, really wish I knew what to do about my reaction to summer. The heat goes up, the day stretches long, and suddenly my sleep is on the fritz, my anxiety ramps up, and I start to mentally shut down. Yesterday was sunny and hot - I slept until 3 PM and couldn't drag myself out of bed for another hour, I couldn't even motivate myself to make caffeine, and I had no desire to do anything at all.
Today? Overcast and in the 60's-70's. I'm up early, moving around, thinking clearly, happy and laughing and getting things done.
This is a yearly problem and I have yet to find a solution. It builds up, too, until the weather finally cools down and I hit my stride again. It's exhausting, literally the largest problem in my life, and I know it can't be healthy, but I really don't think there's anything that I can do about it. I'll be trying out blackout curtains once I have some income again, but AC isn't an option.
So, just venting.

I was actually just reading an article about how Seasonal Affective Disorder also hits people in the summer, too, just in a much smaller portion of the population than those affected by winter. The theory is basically that the high levels of light fucks with natural circadian rhythms and heat disrupts sleep, making brains and body hormones go haywire. I definitely recommend trying out the blackout curtains ASAP, for both heat and light reasons.
In the meantime, if there's any consolation in having company in the face of your misery, well.... at least you know you're not the only one?
ETA: Try Target for the curtains if money is tight. I just went to check prices on their website because I remember getting the old ones for our apartment, which had single-pane glass windows older than my parents and was therefore always freezing, really cheap. We got ours at JCPenney for something like $12 on clearance. The ones I just saw at Target are $8-$10.

All I did was poke around Google for a bit, since I could honestly use some in my bedroom. I don't know what your 'decor' is like, but these seem pretty unoffensively neutral, have a 3-4 star rating, and are $8 a panel -- so $16 if you buy two. They don't look like the best blackout curtains, but they look okay-enough for that price.

The target ones are also very very long, so if your window isn't too big, you could easily cut them in half. When my husband worked nights we literally stapled the curtains to the wall/one another so that as little light as possible could get through during the day. If it's hot outside you're not opening your windows anyway!

These are a little pricier, but I use them on literally every window in my house, that's how well they work. Linked both curtains and rods because OMG the curved rod is the best for that evil 'side-sun' that glares at you from between curtain and window.

I haven't been on my meds in a few weeks. Can't afford em (first paycheck from new job, I swear). I thought for a while I was doing well without the anti depressants or anti anxiety meds, but then yesterday I realized I haven't been keeping up with my apartment. I've been eating poorly. But hey I wasn't feeling suicidal or anything!
........it hit me on the way home from work. Hard. The 'you know if you disappeared, no one would notice. they'd easily forget about you.'
So yeah. I need those meds back asap...

I am enjoying the feeling of accomplishment after having emptied out eight drawers of stuff in my bathroom and sorted the contents, cleaned the drawers out, put in little containers to divide things up, then put the sorted stuff into those containers. I actually know where everything in the bathroom is now!

@Sparks I swear by those little 'Stori' organizers. Amazon has them. Not super cheap, but sturdy, stackable, and omg, when I got the kitchen drawers sorted with them I was the happiest creature.
I share my sorting adventure from earlier in the year in solidarity. (And for laughs; it is genuinely terrifying and why my husband isn't allowed to put things away any more. It does show those containers and their miracle-working potential, though!) We... inherited a lot of stuff in our kitchen from my grandmother (who owned this house before we moved in), and only this year did my mother allow us to start throwing things out. Only 25 years later.
It was an adventure. (Sadly on pause for a bit, but dental bills.

Stori looks amazing and I'm going to buy a bunch on prime day if they're on sale.
Also, double boilers are really useful when you're making brownies! Or fudge. Or anything involving melting chocolate.

@Rinel I seriously love them. Love love love. They have seriously saved my ass on organization. I want a mountain of them for the studio and more for the bathroom when I can afford 'em.
They're also an insanely convenient size for the rubbermaid 'brilliance' containers and their lids we replaced the tupperware with, and both are equally clear, so my 'not everything matches-ish' eyetic doesn't flare up. (Also highly recommend those if you need something with good locking lids. We originally got some as 'display boxes' for the shells we collect since they're cheaper than actual display boxes by far, and became similarly addicted to them.)
Eventually, we will acquire a double boiler that is... less old than two or more of me. Our kitchen is 1940s tiny, and that space under the tupperware? All there is for pots and pans. There's not even wall for a rack.
We found a nice, compact, durable, stacking set we're sloooooooooooooooowly getting pieces of when it's on sale that fits our absurdly small space, so we'll eventually pick up the one from that. -
Had a job interview today, an in-person second interview after the initial phone screen a couple weeks ago. I think it went well, and it seems like a position I'd do really well in and that I'm a really good fit for. I would appreciate good vibes because I really, really need a job.
