I guess to clarify, like is there anything that would be considered unreasonable in a contract like that that wouldn't be immediately obvious?

Of course. Infinitely so. But if you follow the plain language of the contract, you should be okay.

Remember: you are not responsible for how others interpret the contract.

The authors punchline to a recent webcomic (Questionable Content) was the term:

        thanxiety

I would link it for more context, but spoilers (read the whole thing dammit!).

        Just wanted to share.

I use to read that webcomic religiously. I haven't read it in years though.

@rightmeow The whole thing dammit! Now now now do do do!

Many comics change focus so ... eh. Drifting seems to be a thing for authors and readers.

I miss the music info that was there at the start, but I appreciate the AI thoughts.

Besides, until you meet Melon and Yay, you are missing out.

During the summer I literally don't know what day it is from moment to moment.

So I put everything in my calendar.

Except that doesn't work when the event doesn't saaavvveee. X.x

This woman I'm foster-kitty-sitting for is probably wondering if she made a mistake by not finding someone else. X.x

Today I learned a popular euphemism for a particularly traumatic, triggery experience a lot of women have. I'm glad I learned it. It will make me better in conversations about it.

So here's the thing. I'd never go to someone, even people I know well, and offer advice on their health, diet or exercise. Giving unsolicited suggestions is a shitty thing to do.

But it really bugs me when folks come and ask for advice, then after the fact get defensive.

For starters I didn't make the rules. Yes, it really sucks that delicious food has more calories than less delicious food.

I also don't know how to respond to weird workarounds to that. "I eat fruit-flavored <X>, it's good for you!" where <X> is basically sugar doesn't give me a lot of leeway. I actually try to not say anything because of the mixed bag of reactions I've gotten. A while ago a family uncle talked about eating icecubes with his food because 'it burns more calories'. Well, okay.

So anyway, to the point of this rant... what really gets me is when the conversation is turned around. "Arkandel, I want to enjoy life. I like bread."

So. I didn't go to them to offer counsel. We all do what we do based on our goals and priorities. If you want to eat whatever, eat whatever! I am not your warden.

But motherfucker... that sort of comment implies I don't enjoy life. You think I wouldn't kill a large pepperoni pizza right now? That I don't like caramel ice cream? I do my best (and certainly don't always succeed) to moderate these meals because of my own goals and what makes me happy.

                      Grumble grumble.

@arkandel Gluten intolerance, allergic to wheat, sugar, and dairy. Hear you loud and clear. Will help you murder that imaginary pizza I can't have, either.

Somehow, 'enjoying life' does does not extend to sitting in the bathroom all day the day after eating that pizza in real life.

                              Dieting is like getting married.

For some people, it's easy; for others, it's hard. Some people want the quick way to make it work; others want to take their time to develop it. In the end, whatever you choose, you'll have your ups-and-downs, and hopefully more good days than bad ones.

And if you decide on a divorce, that's fine, but don't get salty with me if I stay married.

I did the dumbest shit today.

They changed my short acting insulin pen. It is now gray...as is my long term acting insulin pen.

guess who gave herself the wrong stuff?

So now I sit here, drinking juice until my stomach hurts, praying. I can't afford the hospital.

Time to get some nail polish or washi tape to mark that for next time.

Living in the mountains presents all SORTS of problems. Right now it's mud slides that keep washing out the interstates and making them impassable.

Usually it's just one way - but the last few days both sides of the valley have ended up blocked off, almost completely isolating the town I grew up in. This would be whatever, take the +2 hour detour, whatever - but my sister's wedding is this weekend and the interstate is KIND OF important. Also, if it's blocked in both directions, then there ~isn't~ a good detour.

One friend replied "Leave early!" to my concern and it took everything in me to go, "My quadraplegic brother is at the mercy of his caretakers with young children and literally ~can't~ leave earlier. He can leave when his caretakers get him up, my father arrives, and he gets packed. A 2+ hour detour means they arrive around midnight, and blocked roads in both directions means not only my brother but possibly my father might miss my sister's wedding."

                                      #grump.

If it could just stop raining for a bit please.

Is the venue limited to a specific time? If not, could they see about moving the start time back a bit to account for the fact that weather conditions are making the current plans a pain?

It's not necessarily ideal but it might be an option.

Alas, no. It isn't till evening. Thankfully my father and brother made it through. So that is good. Some of the extended family has bowed out.
