It's back now.
-
The game is down again? Sometimes I have issues logging into places, so figured I would ask.
-
Yes. It's been down for a couple hours.
-
Okay, stupid question. Is it down again, or am I just having trouble getting connected? It's not even trying to reconnect now, which is why I'm thinking it's my end.

It appears to be down on my end as well.
-
Wellp. Guess it's "sit in the discord talking shit till @Sonder fixes it" time again.

So you’re preserving the game’s OOC Lobby.
-
@thenomain There's a difference between talking shit and being a disruptive, abusive prick.
-
I'm sorry about the game crashing. We had a space issue but I believe it's fixed.
-
So I hear Fallcoast is 'rebooting'
Which means it's time to unearth...
(Thank you, forever, for this, TJ.)
-
That continues to be one of the funniest things I've ever watched, obviously in part because of the connection to the material. Still so hilarious.
-
Omg I forgot about that!! hahahaha (Also we got a lotta plans fer the reboot, hope to be badass, more info when it's closer)
-
@wretched My understanding is there's very little information about the reboot, but the refugees I saw on other MU* seemed confused/upset when they talked about it.
Was the downtime related to this in some way? I mean... I assume this wasn't supposed to be a surprise, brave new world! kind of deal, right?
-
The last I heard, they were moving the game to Miami and keeping it 1e. I don't think it will last long.
-
No, the downtime was related to some piece of code going wonky or something. Don't read too much in that.
-
@admiral It's a resilient little bugger, but it does need something to keep it going.

To be honest, it's the kind of game that can linger on forever. Just remember the painful death bed of Haunted Memories. In some ways Fallcoast is the undead remnant of The Reach, and as such I can see it going virtually indefinitely.
There's usually a need for this kind of "bus station" metropolis archetype game in the hobby, and some game is going to end up fulfilling that role.

The Downtime is/was unrelated.
The 'reboot' will not be for another 6 months or so. No hard decisions have been made on the system. All the spheres will remain save Promethean, it is moving to Miami and will have a much larger grid than Fallcoast does. All other details are being worked on, but we also intend to automate a lot more than FC or TR ever did.
Imma Shut up now, because so man y things are still in the air, but I was super skeptical about it and have been brought around to excited.

Because that's just what every nWoD game needs:
a larger grid.
-
@auspice grin People have been arguing about grid size since... I dunno before I started MUing in 1998? I prefer em big, some like em small, but Fallcoasts Grid is TINY.
