Eldritch - A World of Darkness MUX

Not sure why I would need to. I might be missing something here.
If it is part of the pose that got obviously missed i would bring it up in ooc convo. If it was part of a description or an action I wanted to make sure folks paid attention to, I would focus on that and not detail other things to make sure they realized the important bits. -
Arkandel flinches back from Ganymede's bullying, looking positively appalled. "How are you not behind bars!"

Actually you -should- use -- for emphasis. Fucking plebeians.

@surreality ANSI in poses is only a slightly smaller sin than wiki codes in poses... which many people here are guilty of, and should be ashamed of themselves for.
I'm not ashamed of it. What's the difference between doing
*emphasis!!*
and''emphasis''
? If one of them translates instantly to italics on the wiki? And you can just c/p poses? Or if you have a fancy logger just c/p the entire log? (I kinda miss the fancy logger of simplemu, but vastly refer tinyfugue, if only because TF lets me highlight /a single word/, and not an entire f'ing pose). -

When one goes for comedic effect and tends to be hyperbolic, yes. You certainly sound like one of those Nancy-Pants "ROLE-Play Not ROLL-Play" Mushers who thinks that faianess is something that can be measured.
Well it's all balanced now. That's fair. Pardon me while I code this fairness into an automated Mush Then Mud Insult Machine, since any Mudder knows if it's not coded then it's not worthwhile.
I've no idea what you are talking about. It sounds like you're projecting, though.
I have no idea what you're replying to, but like you I'll reply just to say so.
(I haven't been a useless Wora fight in a while. I'm way out of practice for this. My sarcasm seems to be working pretty well, tho.)

What's it like being a useless WORA fight? Is it as difficult as it looks?

Simplemu* does this. ^^

No, simplemu* highlights an entire paragraph, not just a single word.
-
@Cobaltasaurus You're doing it wrong. You have to change contains to is in the event.

Given I have it set up specifically to highlight individual words, yes, it does do single words.

When I did it, yes that is what I did. It would highlight the entire paragraph. It is, however, moot because it appears that SimpleMU* won't install on Win10. (I tried a couple of times last night to test it out, but it just gets hung up on 'looking for previous installation'.)

That's a bug and it happened on previous Windows versions as well ever since WinXP. Usually I just restart the installer and it eventually goes through - but really, if you have it already installed anywhere you can simply copy it over from there and it will run directly just fine.
I'm using it right now on Win10 and it installed fine, for the record. It's just a fluke when it doesn't the first time.
-
Grrrr. It didn't do it "the first time", it did it multiple times when I tried to install it. I'm not a complete moron, you know.
-
I had a feeling they were going to do this, although I expected the worst case scenario. At least they're not closing entirely.

I didn't say you were. All I said was it's a known bug which happened in versions before Win10 as well, and that there's a workaround for it.

Go get Potato. You won't miss SimpleMU*.
-
@Ganymede Seconded about potato. I thought double input windows sounded dumb and now I can't imagine not having them.
Now if I could only disable the update reminders.

Tried it. Didn't grok the event thingy. Went back to TinyFugue.
-
I spent like a solid half hour just staring at the directions and bashing keys to figure out how to do it.
https://github.com/talvo/potato/wiki/Events
Now that I've done that, I like it quite a bit more than how SimpleMU handled it.

The writing was on the mall only about a month or two after it opened. If not for Sinister, it probably would have folded a long time ago. I feel for all the people that put all the work into getting the game ready for use. Coders and stories and background and whatnot. It was good while it lasted, however brief.
