@aria Well we didn't go backwards in time and do it retroactively! We started doing it a couple of weeks ago when that guy started spamming accounts and raged at Auspice.
It's kinda typical too that he of course targeted a girl. He barely bothered with me.

@arkandel Ahhh, got it. I just saw the thread get necro'd and was making a bit of stankface at it. Mostly just because RL can bite me right now and it's easier to be irritated with some random internet asshole than it is to swear at my air conditioner or my dog's spine.

The new low bar for GAMA to do better than is: Will the line for early registration pickup be 2 hours long again?
Or: Will the executive of Origins once again decree that you cannot get your money back for canceled events?
If I didn't live here, there would be absolutely no question if I'd rather go to Origins or GenCon. Origins is absolutely the Uber of the con scene: Bigger than it should be considering the way they treat the workers and also the customers.

The first year I went to GenCon was eye opening by way of Cons and how they should run.
I have no want nor interest to go to most any others nowadays. I did check out ECCC while in Seattle and it was fun to wander for the day, but by and far, GenCon is my bar. I have zero desire to go to DragonCon, for example. I went to Otakon a few times when I lived in MD because it was there (like you and Origins), but GenCon...
Even GenCon's dealer room is laid out amazingly well. It never set off me and my crowd anxiety issues once. I didn't sign up for events and just got the 'general' passes and still was able to attend and enjoy myself because they make registration so easy. It was just a fun experience all around and every year since (because living in Cincinnati made it vastly more affordable to go) I've been sad I can't afford to attend.
If you're a gamer and can afford GC, I totally and completely recommend it. Even if you have anxiety / crowd issues (and I have them pretty intensely), it's a really, really well done con. I

NERDS Y'ALL NERDS we want to chitter-chatter about the things we like, don't like, and argue about incessantly, but let's also try to be considerate of others,
Had to comment on this, didn't belong in the spoilers discussion.
But this, right here. I get it we like to argue over who knows more about comic book continuity or are deep lore of LotR accumulated from quotes, interviews and other sources beyond the books but ... for the love of whatever your faith is ... stop talking about geek lore during the movie at the movie theatre on opening weekend. I want to appreciate the film for what it is, regardless of differences from the book or deviations made to fit it into the 2-3 hour time slot given for the 'movie' frame of reference. Heck, even if its been out a month and its late night and its you five and me and my five up front only, don't talk about it during the movie at the movie theatre. I'm sure the person your correcting doesn't appreciated it and I and my friends sure as hell don't appreciate you spouting off and ruining or viewing experience (whether some of us would agree with what you're saying). We're not filming a live movie review, we're trying to watch.

When I pay over a hundred dollars extra on top of your existing exorbitant pricing for next day shipping I expect it to come NEXT FRAGING DAY. Seriously. It's not a hard concept to grasp. I don't want it two days from now not three I want it the next day from when I placed the order. Hell if I could get same day I would because I need this stupid slash and spike plate to actually protect my life at work, and yet these bastards still haven't delivered the damn thing so I get to go an entire days work being less defended if someone decides they need to shank some security.

@wildbaboons I’ve been seeing a lot of people print their name as signatures lately. Usually it’s some random barely legal kid or the odd Latino immigrant who doesn’t speak English that well. Not saying there’s any correlation there though! Just what I noticed.
I guess seeing it is just strange since I’ve always been taught that your signature is your personal mark, be it weird scribble scrabble or elegantly penned cursive. It’s supposed to be unique and harder to forge for a reason, right?

Not really, no. It's just an indication of your agreement. It should be legible and identifiable. Those weird sprawls went out of style once we became accustomed to uniform text. If it was about forgery, then you wouldn't be able to use /s/ Name. But even courts of law accept that on filed documents.
