@RightMeow I say 'I have legal evidence of two birthdays, therefore I reserve the right to celebrate twice' is the appropriate response here.
I mean, fixing it, yes, you should, and yes, that's pretty fucked up, but I say claim the Second Cakeday like a hobbit with Second Breakfast.
-
@Rinel I mean... almost all Christian denominations are Nicene. So I don't know what you're trying to say there.
-
It's only like 3 days after my actual one. I see what happened. I'm old. They obviously cried with rejoice on my day of birth. So that 6 looks like a 9. I did send it to my sister and ask if my life has been a lie.
-
@RightMeow Just promise that if it ever falls on a 3 day weekend, it will become The Birthening, a Festival of You-ness (or similar, it's pre-coffee, and my event day naming mojo is way off).
ETA: "Oh, you were in labor for 17 hours? It took 3 whole days for my amazing ass to come into this world." <-- also that.

People who jerk their whole heads back when they take pills. What is wrong with you? Why is this a fucking production? Just swallow.
-
One: my thirteen year-old dog stopped eating her food. She will eat EVERYTHING else in the known universe, but if it's specifically made for dogs? NOPE. She will not. I have made another vet appointment for her - and if the vet goes "Eh," shrug like she did next time I swear I'm going to facepalm my head off.
Two: OCD brain has been focused on the above all. Damn. Day. And I'm still awake. Can't sleep, brain will overwhelm me. Fucking brain.

Worrying! I hope she is ok...

This morning I heard plastic being chewed upstairs. Took me a moment and then I RAN. She has an obsession with my mouthguard, and was happily working her way through the case to get to it. This is the second one. The other was never found...

For some of us, there are several things wrong that stop us swallowing pills "normally."
-
@Tinuviel Point taken!

Woke up sick.
People, this is why you don't go to work sick. I'm p sure this is the fault of the lady who sits across from me and has been hella sick the past couple days.
-
It would be nice to never have to come in sick. I would never, ever do it if I had my way. Pretty sure that is fairly universal.

I mean I think there's levels of sick and she was v. sick.
-
If people come in sick, I'm usually quicker to blame the company. Do they give adequate sick time? Does the culture encourage or discourage people taking time when appropriate? These are usually the big factors for people being trained to power through stuff like this.
tl;dr blame capitalism

WF actually encourages people to go and take care of themselves.
Many don't because workaholics.A few weeks ago I felt miserable. Like a couple hours after getting in I began feeling really really off. So walking from one meeting to another I looked at my coworkers and was like 'hey after this meeting im gonna go' and they went 'Why? Just go now. There's nothing important enough that we can't email you.'
Ive never before had a company so encourage people to take care of themselves and most everyone can work from home if they need to get stuff done that desperately.
-
I yell at my team when they come to work sick. Sure, I love them spreading the love so that instead of that one person being unable to function in a couple of days I'm down several more.
-
I've been throwing up for most of the day. I'm fairly sure that it was something I ate last night as the stomach-ick started at the same time as I finished eating.
There's no way I'm going to write sub plans and cancel my after school club for that. So I'm here. Objectively sick.
-
There is a stomach bug going around Westen WA btw. 2-3 days, sudden onset, possible projectile vomit involved. I had it, thought it was food poisoning. Came back to work today to find out I was absolutely not the only one.
ETA: It's not food poisoning.

Last night my Kenku ranger went to attack. I already had hunter's mark on my target, had dread ambusher up and announced I was going to shoot an arrow at my target.
I rolled a 19 to attack. WOO HOO!
And then do a 1 for damage on bow, hunter's mark and dread ambusher, DOH!
-
@Bananerz That's the wooorst.
A few weekends ago my Barb critted for like...8 damage
It was about as underwhelming as the Green Lantern movie
-
I sympathize with it more when it's work. I can empathize with 'I cannot lose the income from that day' enough to be frustrated rather than angry. (ETA exception: Food service of any kind. STAY THE FUCK HOME.)
I do not understand it when it's regularly occurring social shit, like a weekly tabletop game or movie night or similar. This is when I will get seriously fucking pissed off.
A jackass went to one of the husband's tabletop games with a plague. Not only does everyone in the game work (and can't afford to miss work since nobody's NOT scraping by), but the gamerunner has twins in elementary school who do NOT need to pick up a plague to spread even further there, lawd knows there's enough of them in school already. This? This is when I will get royally fucking angry.
Dude, you did not need to pretend to be an elf that goddamned badly.
