That is true. It's very very difficult to be reasonable during extraordinary circumstances. I think that as people get more time to digest the circumstances a new standard for what is considered normal will develop and there will be less erratic behavior.
Working in a store, we have mandated sanitation every hour across ALL surfaces. This is in response to the virus. Everything that has a touch point is wiped down with sanitizer.
Working in foods, we do all equipment every 4 hours and wash everything every time a new set of hands come around it.
My apartment complex has the maint. workers helping the lady who cleans the public spaces with cleaning/sanitizing the laundry rooms. As for maint. calls, only true emergencies will be seen to for the 'time being'.

My complex has done the same. And detailed all the precautions maintenance workers will take if they do have to enter your home.
The Walmart Supercenter where I do most of my grocery shopping, got restocked yesterday and would you believe that they were already sold out of milk, bread, meat, toilet paper and paper towels by the time I got there around 4? So here I am stuck with cans of tuna and chicken and lots of lunch meat, and cannot find a loaf of bread anywhere to make a damned sandwich >.<
Maybe it's time to invest in a bread machine?
So it looks like I might have COVID19, but there aren't enough tests in my area. Yay >.<

Keep hydrated, fed, and as healthy as can be. Treat it like the COVID, and you should be fine.
The best advice I've seen so far is if you're sick, assume you have it, and take the appropriate steps to not infect anyone else. Most folks if they do get it will be fine; the big concern is transmitting it to people who don't have the immune systems to fight it off. Don't take ibuprofen though!!! Please!

Ok, so there are many rumours about this. The source seems to have come from a letter published in the lancet - letters are not peer-reviewed, and are often disagreed with. The BBC put out a fact check on this. . A lot of people take them routinely - I do - and should keep taking them - I will be. There are some biological reasons why ibuprofen might THEORETICALLY be less than helpful but there is no scientific evidence that it actually is.
Ideally, stick to paracetamol if you are sick, but if you are taking ibuprofen and similar for chronic conditions, don't stop because of a rumour. If in doubt, talk to your healthcare team.
Clean hands, drink water, avoid other people as much as you can.
So, it was in my emergency management update from our healthcare team, which is not a 'rumor'. The articles definitely say 'talk to your doctor if you're already taking it' and the WHO has come out and said it is not a problem to take it as of this morning, but they have not thus far retracted it from the emergency info.

What liability?
If you get sick on their premises, there's at least an argument to be made that your illness is their responsibility for not disinfecting the facility; and if they get sued, I can't imagine their business owner insurance covers pandemics.
People can sue over whatever you want, but I doubt you'll get any court to believe that an apartment complex owner is negligent for not managing to keep a laundry room disinfected during a pandemic.Usually you just have to show you're following best practices and best practices are going to be to ensure that there's posted rules about hygiene habits. For instance it's probably a very good idea to wash your hands before and after you do laundry in a public space.
You might not be likely to win a case like that, but it doesn't mean a landlord (or any establishment) wants to risk spending the money to defend the lawsuit(s) you receive, especially if multiple residents all get sick. As more people are out of work and markets dropping, there will be more and more people who are willing to go to extreme lengths to make money - even if it is just nuisance lawsuits to try to collect a quick, low settlement.
Does anyone really believe all the business closures that happened before it was mandatory were done out of an abundance of caution and concern for people at their own expense? I don't. I think places like Disney found it was financially risky to continue operations. Whether it was lawsuits, or expenses, or just bad press for possibly being an epicenter of an outbreak, I don't think their decisions were based primarily on the health and welfare of people because they just care so damn much.

Which is perfectly reasonable, but it's also reasonable to comply with the directives of emergency management teams. I acknowledged what the WHO said, I'm not sure why you're taking exception to info being relayed. Not judging you for following your workplace guidance at all. All we can each do is follow the best advice available at the time, and that advice is changing daily (or even hourly) as new information becomes available.
In this particular case, the alarm seems to have been sounded by one health minister's opinion, without any scientifically-backed evidence. It then became a viral sensation, despite being challenged by the general medical community. While you could debate whether that's a 'rumour', it certainly meets my criteria for information that shouldn't be touted as fact-based advice.
Current guidance from WHO and other trusted sources say there's no particular reason to avoid ibuprofen when treating covid-19 (beyond the normal side effects and contraindications).
So I made the decision to go on a 30 day leave. I wish I could say I was relieved, but all I feel is guilt. Extreme guilt. All the guilt. There may be tears of guilt.
This is probably a stupid reaction, but I'm upset that I'm a high risk. I'm upset that I'm letting my team down. I'm upset that I'm upset.

The only way you could let anyone down is by taking steps that would increase your risk.
