Comfort Food...

Tonight: Ravioli with spicy red pepper sauce, cheese stuffed glaric bread, and buttered steamed asparagus.

and buttered steamed asparagus.
The whole meal sounds delicious, but a suggestion to try, and this works really well with any green vegetable (and probably some others):
Take about 2 T olive oil, some finely chopped garlic (1-2 cloves is plenty), 1 t sesame oil, and some lemon zest. Warm the olive oil and garlic until fragrant over low heat, then add the other ingredients, let warm for about a minute, then toss with your veggies.

@ortallus That does sound good. These were out of a microwaved bag tho. With kerrigold irish butter and kosher salt put on afterward.

I realize this may be a typo, and I don't mean to harp on it, but for a moment I thought that you came up with some new thing here, and thought it would be awesome.
"Glaric bread": When you stuff that loaf with enough garlic and butter that it begs you to stop, but then squeals with glee when you smother it with your cheese.
Awwwwwww, yeeeeeeeah.
Ganymede: Making your food slutty since 1996!

@ganymede I wish I could downvote you.

Would still have worked. Just instead of butter, use my "secret sauce".
Since we're making food slutty now, thanks to @Ganymede.

Please stop making my food slutty.

Thank you Whataburger for destroying my waistline, I mean it.
I really do...
-
@lithium I have a whataburger problem, too.
-
I've had it once.
It was OK.
I'm just kinda meh on fast food in general tho.
-
I miss Whataburger. Mostly for the ketchup?! Which I realize is weird.

Considering when I moved to TX, everyone re: Whataburger was all 'MAKE SURE YOU GET THE KETCHUP'
...it may not be that weird?

I think I'm also on the "meh" for Whataburger. The one time I had it, I got a chicken sandwich of a type and it just tasted... off.
In Texas, I'm all over Schlotzsky's and Ramen Tatsuya, though.

I haven't had Ramen Tatsuya yet. I usually end up at Michi Ramen.
We should do ramen sometime!

My go-to comfort food is either kraft mac'n'cheese -- nothing fancier -- or campbell's chicken noodle soup (also, nothing fancier).
If I'm feeling ill, I eat saltines and 7-up.

Just made crock-pot broccoli beef. Ridiculously easy, super cheap to make, and oh sooooo nommy.

Chicken and noodles, a ridiculously easy Kansas Amish country classic.
Shred at least a pound of chicken (your classic poor-ass Kansan might use a whole chicken from a can, but that's next level gross, I like a rotisserie) and set aside. Fill a pot with water, half a stick (at least) of butter and five tablespoons of chicken bouillon. Boil and add some Amish-style egg noodles. Tradition says thinner is better, but I like medium flat. Make your own or buy 'em in a store. Who cares? When the noodles are done add in the chicken, a can of cream of chicken soup and either a cup of sautΓ©ed onions or a tablespoon of dried onions. Simmer while you make the second part of the meal, the mashed potatoes you're going to serve this on.
And for a low carb version just eat the rotisserie chicken whole with your bare hands. If you're wearing clothes while doing it, well aren't you a fancy lad.

@lithium
Whataburger is one of those chains I wish we had around her. Though it is likely best for me we do not.
See also Jack in the Box.Also @FirePuff why would you get a chicken sandwich at a place with burger in it's name? I know a lot of people do it but it always strikes me as odd. I mean if I want chicken it is not like chicken places are hard to find.
