      @kanye-qwest Well... I care.

I care, too. I always liked Aquaman. I always tended to favor ocean/sea gods in mythology and he represented that in comic book heroes (much the same way --in much more idealized and de-flawed ways-- Superman is Zeus and Batman is Hades, Aquaman is Poseidon, and Poseidon was always my favorite).

"Excuse the hell out of you. He's a bag of dicks. I'm a carefully curated box of cocks." -- to @GirlCalledBlu upon being misrepresented.

I just watched Into the Spider-Verse, and my mind is blown.

It is as great a revelation as The Dark Knight was.

        Probably the best Marvel movie.

During the window I had MoviePass, I banked up a lot of Regal Points (you could tie your MoviePass-purchased-ticket to your Regal account and thus accrue points and... look, if you let me abuse a system I'm gonna abuse a system okay). But about 54k of those points expire at the end of the month.

So I gotta see 3 movies. (15k points gets you a movie ticket!)

Spiderverse is tomorrow's movie. I'm excite.

Went to the local Amazon Prime preview of Aquaman

It's good. Maybe not as good as the hype, but still almost as good as Wonder Woman.

Another step in the right direction for DC movies.

As a huge fan of Miles and Gwen in their respective comics, I really loved their portrayals in this; I'd happily go back and see the film a second time.

Just saw it and it's already fallen into my top Marvel movies. I love so much about it. The animation was stunning. The characters were fun. It had so much classic Spider-Man banter.

They've apparently already budgeted (and begun scripting) a sequel, which will focus predominantly on Miles and Gwen.

Oh man there was a girl (prob. 12-14 years old) a few seats down from me who, during a scene between Miles and Gwen, was whispering to herself "Kiss kiss kiss kiss kiss"

                    I about died.

It's canon! Gwen has a way to wander into the main Marvel dimension, and she and Miles... well.

                        Hype?

Is the bar for DC so low that a 70% on RT where the majority of the reviews are just barely positive counts as hype?

It really doesn't belong in the same paragraph as Wonder Woman quality-wise.

Does the red wig look as fucking awful in the movie as it does in the preview? There's one shot that was totally fine on YouTube, but once I saw it in theaters on a large screen, it was, like.... distractingly "this hair is plastic" levels of bad.

@aria You really don't notice the wig so much in the scenes where she's in the water or wet from just exiting the water.

I still can't believe Jason Momoa is wasting his time with Aquaman when he was clearly born to play Lobo.

I hate knowing that Dragonball Super: Broly is really really good, as pretty much every review I've read/watched has either liked or loved it and having zero way to watch it until January.

I love Momoa, but that role is reserved for Ron Perlman.

I had a lot of fun with Aquaman. There's nothing special about the plot or anything, but I thought it had some really nice visuals, and it was super funny and well-paced. Don't @ me.

I don't like Superman. I never have. He just doesn't do anything for me as a superhero. The newer movies were a bit more ok. They showed his flaws, rather than making him Alien Jesus or whatever.

That said, I am seriously stoked about the possibilities of Brightburn.

This is a superman movie I would definitely watch.

It's still kind of a rip-off of Irredeemable by Mark Waid. If you want evil Superman (and saying it is such is not in any way a spoiler), find that comic book and read it. It's sensational.

@coin One of the things I like about Superman is how, perhaps just on the merit of being such an archetype, there have been a lot of pretty creative derivatives and deviations based on his story over the years.
