I wonder how they'll do it. I mean in terms of the special effects. Then again Disney has deep pockets and if they gave it the Mandalorian treatment...

I'm curious about the height thing. Maslany is 5'4".

@Ghost I'm amazed that some people seem to think they are just going to paint her green a-la Lou Ferrigno (or at least this is the impression I get from people). She is going to play Jennifer Walters, not She-Hulk. She will voice She-Hulk, and maybe provide Mocap for her CGI like Mark does for Hulk, but that is about it. Height will have nothing to do with it.
And if you are going by character height in cannon, well, Hugh Jackman was almost a foot taller than Logan is supposed to be, and he seemed to do just fine.

Tatiana Maslany is a great pick. I could see her working alongside Mark Ruffalo if he was able to come back in a cameo. She's an excellent actress. And the height is actually a plus. The whole concept is that Jennifer Walters is a small woman for whom being She-Hulk is an empowerment fantasy come true. I'm sure that the CGI people will be on point for the transformation just as they were for Hulk. It's mocap time.
-
Yeah, I don't see stature being any more of a problem for Maslany then it was for Ruffalo.

Never mind that this is the 21st century and we have things like, you know, camera angles and milk cartons.
If it worked for Robert Downey Jr. for ten fucking years...
Just saying.

Height won't be an issue at all. I mean if you want to to do She-Hulk then you need to start paying for some serious FX, and at that point how tall a character will appear is already the least of your concerns.
While on this I really wonder if TV expanding budgets will start pushing big tentpole movies out. That is, if it's a better RoI to go with a TV show that costs, say, 150% of what a movie would over the course of its entire season, but you're counting on making it back from subscriptions, merchandise opportunities, holding audiences loyal for multiple years, etc.
Especially in the post-Covid19 world where cinemas are about to start closing this could be the way things go, instead of simply streaming the same films instead.

Matter of opinion there...
I don't believe you can take a core character concept away from a character and still consider it to be good. Fox Studios believed a superhero wasn't much more than their powers and that's (one of a few reasons) why their superhero franchises failed and continue to fail, especially versus other Marvel titles.
Sometimes height has nothing to do with a character. But sometimes it really does. I don't know enough about She-Hulk to know whether it applies, but I trust the Disney Marvel people to keep the core of her character intact and handle it appropriately.

I think staying true to the character is a lot less important then making a good movie. Most people know absolutely nothing about She-hulk just like they knew absolutely nothing about Iron-Man or Guardians of the Galaxy.
Where Marvel has gone the extra mile is that they're attempting to ensure that the movies remain consistent and coherent with each other so that if you enjoy one of them chances are good you'll enjoy the others too without jarring breaks in continuity or style. You can tell that there's someone with an overarching vision for the franchise.
Fox by contrast created a number of individually decent movies that had almost nothing to do with each other.

Raised by Wolves is so good augh

This isn't good TV so much as an observation about TV, but uhhh.....
I feel like you're being rather generous there, Netflix, what with calling Ancient Aliens a "documentary" and all.
