Me: puttering with pretty meditative image fuckery.
My husband: <asks very simple question>
Me: <puzzled look, goes back to looking at the shiny>
My husband: What are you-- <gets similarly hypnotized by the shiny>
Me: See, the pretty makes you stupid.
My husband: OK, I have to stop or we'll never get Chinese food.
...there will be Chinese food, and there is rain, and there is shiny so long as we have power. (Won't be long, I'm betting.) But, y'know. Then there will still be food, and naps are good, and I am simply too fucking zen right now to give a fuck about almost anything.
Oh fucking well.

What I love right now is having people I care about who are as mad as I am about vague general handwave at the world stuff.
Having someone to be angry with, to vent and shout with, is a wonderful catharsis I needed more than I knew. Weirdly, it makes me feel saner. Like the world tries to gaslight us but this person gets it and having that to lean on means the world to me.
The world is burning but I know they’re always there to pass the hose. Or flamethrower, depending.

You know what I really want, I mean like what I really really want lately authentic ramen. We have a 'currently closed place' nearish that does it and I'm sad it's not in my mouth. I even looked up how to make it from scratch and have been considering it. I know.. not Chinese, but I just thought of it too.

Our favorite local place reopened last month, to much joy and rapture in the house. Knowing they closed due to concerns about harassment rather than an obligation to close? (They were takeout only even back when.) We're ordering from them once a week now vs. the once every 2-3 weeks we used to. They've been there for probably 20 frickin' years, have always been awesome, and there's a whoooooooole lot of pissed-off that shitty people made them feel unsafe remaining open at the start of the chaos. So, yeah. We are super fucking grateful to have them back and are trying to show it as much and as often as the budget allows.

Today is marks the official last day of homeschooling my teenager. And my almost full week of work in a couple months. Words can't say how excited I am to start normalcy in my house! My coed softball season will also be starting in a couple weeks. I'm sure normalcy will take awhile, as my family is still not completely together yet, but this is a start! That said, in honor of school being out..

@Ganymede I saw that today. There is a tiny part of me (well trained by work) that can feel pity for someone who hates themselves that much that they have to pile hatred on to others who look like they feel inside. But also, fuck that wanker. (the bisexual council needs to meet to decide our policy on this)
