@rnmissionrun said in RL things I love:
We got lucky here in Southern Maryland. They had been calling for up to 8 inches of the stuff but it all melted as soon as it hit the ground.
And yes, he can have all of mine, too.
My last winter in Laurel, I injured my back shoveling snow. I was only 18.
Fuck snow.I'm happy Austin is back to the low 60's temp-wise. That's the shit I like.

What snow?
-
We finally got snow here! Just a thin layer, but its sticking! More predicted for later in the week.
-
@auspice I used to live in Laurel in the mid 90's. I'm about an hour and a half south of there now.
-
I am definitely on the love snow side of things. For one thing get a little bit of snow here and half the people freak and stay home.
I grew up driving in horrible weather in MN so please give me the bad weather that keep a lot of folks home and let me have the best commutes ever. -
Early morning tea, amazing music, and a flood of creativity that Gets Things Done on your MU design, revitalizing your craving to Do It again.

One of my favorite anime/manga series had a follow-up manga. IT'S GETTING AN ANIME ADAPTATION.

@bobotron I've been squeeing like a massive fangirl about this since the news broke (heck, I was just happy it was getting more manga in general). Cardcaptor Sakura is one of my all-time absolute faves. I am most excite for this!

I don't know if this should go in things I hate or things I love, but I kind of love listening to people try to figure out how to address their needs in a business scenario when they didn't want to listen to me two years ago when I said "this won't do what you want it to do why are you doing this?"
So it's Schadenfreude, and it's ugly of me, but I am laughing so hard I'm glad I'm on mute. Couldn't have happened to nicer people.

The super cute Jewish guy at work thought I was 30. He's 27, so I kinda maybe think he might have regarded me with some interest in y'know, that way.
He does know how old I am now, which is to say, could have viably been his teen mom, but he only laughed and said that in my heart, I'm clearly 30.
I'm gonna ride these good feels for while.

Been sick as hell the past few days. On the upswing. Mrs. Faceless wandered in last night with a big ass thing of eggnog and was like 'if you stop being a punk ass and start feeling better, you can have this'.
My goal is to be back to fighting shape by tomorrow afternoon. Daddy needs his nog fix.

My custom-made shirts were just delivered by DHL.
They are both for work.
One has foxes and daisies on it. The other has cats and moons.
I AM AN ADULT AND YOU CAN'T STOP ME. ^_^

We've discovered that my youngest loves him some Christmas music. Not really my cuppa, but hey I'll enjoy it for him. It's once a year, it's not like he'll want to listen to it daily for the next nine months... right?
He loves to dance around to it(which for his age basically just means a lot of swaying and booty-dropping). The latest thing though is that he'll dash up alongside, take hold of your hand, and just rock side to side with you while humming along to the music.
And that shit leaves my cold, dying heart like...

I am in normal sized jeans now guys. I am currently wearing jeans you get not in plus size areas. O.O
-
The only good thing about my parents' visit is that my brothers (the two good ones, not the insane drug-addict shit head) got me an Instant Pot for Christmas.
Made my first thing in it tonight: beef stew.
I haven't eaten anything that rich in... uhm. I don't know how long. I had one bowl. I've got the itis. It's gonna be hard peeling myself off the sofa to put the leftovers away.

@auspice instant pots/electric pressure cookers. they're just so awesome!

You don't understand. If I needed something complex enough to require a recipe then I wouldn't cook it.
I'm the most boring eater. I can have the same thing every day forever, as long as I like it the first time around, and my bar is set pretty low.
But that's the magic of pressure cookers! It takes nearly no effort to make stuff, even straight from the freezer, which prevents me from ordering out (which costs more, has more calories, and might or not be as clean as I'd like) or just munching on random crap.
So for instance let's say I get home tonight and I have nothing to eat, no plans made ahead of time to thaw anything, I'm just.. there. Okay, so I'd grab a couple of chicken breasts from the freezer, stick them in the pot, spray them with herbs, onions, pepper, garlic, salt - all of which come out of assorted boxes, so maybe that's a minute-long process - then slam the lid on for an hour. At the end I take two forks and pull out some chicken meatz.
Can you do some awesome stuff? Damn right you can. I chatted with @Sunny's S.O. a while ago who had some ideas above and beyond my paygrade. But do you have to? Nawp! Which is why it's so great.

9 times out of 10 I'm too paranoid to even try cooking basic things without a recipe. >.> WHAT IF I SCREW UP. Even my 'staples' are the result of spending a period of time reading recipes, watching YouTube videos, etc., to ensure I don't fuck up and ruin the meal.
(I also have not yet really figured out how my Instant Pot works, which means making that stew last night took about 3 hours. Like every other time I'd set it to Saute like the recipe called for, it'd end up shutting off after a bit instead of getting to the 'Hot' state it asked for???)
