I am actually super sad sometimes that I can't afford more LUSH bath bombs. I had a few last year and loved 'em.

@auspice Get the bath (bubble?) bars. They're sliiightly more expensive than the bath bombs, but they're meant to be broken into pieces so they last like 4x as long.

@EmmahSue and I continue our fight to cure the world of disease. After the July 4th Weekend saw an outbreak of Squanch (the disease affecting North America and most of Europe), major U.S. cities went from worry to outright rioting, making the job of the CDC heroes that much harder. It also spurred debate, sometimes itself getting violent, on the US Govt's official position on mandatory vaccination. So far there has been no movement from the White House, seeing Squanch continue to ravage North America in a barely-controlled state through late July.

Pandemic Legacy continues to impress.

Tabletop Simulator continues to get better.

A friend of mine from a while back has a passion for World Building, and came up with a concept he calls A Thousand Little Gods. He had friends volunteer themselves on Facebook to be conceptualized as deities, notable heroes (and villains) and magical creatures. I don't know if he plans to write something or build a game or what, but the concept is really cool, and he's prolific enough that now he has a wiki.

I have the honor of having both a deity and a villain named and conceptualized as part of his work:

I have been scrimping and saving and taking every single plausible shift I can possibly handle (including working 12 hour friday, Saturday, Sunday, and Monday shifts nearly every weekend for the last 4 months) and now I get to take my family on a road trip to a real vacation destination (blue collar though it may be) for the first time in about 10 years, and way longer than that going somewhere for no other purpose BUT our fun as a family vs visiting relatives.

It feels pretty good. Maybe someday when I land that job with bennies we can do stuff like this more often. A woman can dream. but for now I get to play/hang out with my teens, preschooler, and hubby until Saturday! (And then all my kids go back to school next week, which is always a sad time for me.)

After spending a few hours at the FanExpo on Saturday I must say I loved it... again. Some notes:

• I really like the zero judgment atmosphere. There were people there from all walks of nerddom, in all shapes, sizes and genders. Plenty of them were in wheelchairs and everything was accessible, folks were very considerate in general, and I spoted nothing I'd complain about in that regard.

• So many families, which was awesome! Young'un nerds are the best ones. It's great to see kids coming in with their parents (this one family were doing a Sims cosplay which was adorkable), learning how to look but not touch, etc.

• Cosplay... damn, although I know some costumes were definitely bought from somewhere others were clearly manually made and they required so much work. It's really impressive. The "Cosplay does not mean consent" signs everywhere plus Canadian politeness kept things civil, too.

• My one complaint was trying to find a Firefly and/or Stargate shirt for a female friend. She needed an XXL and apparently women don't come in that size. Also maybe 1/6th (if that) of most vendors' shirt merchandise was for women at all... and their staff really didn't know, well, anything. "Stargate? I don't think we have that but... just in case, you know, so I can help you better. Is that a video game, a TV show or...?" Like come on, man, Jason Momoa is right there.

Overall, awesome stuff. Looking forward to going again next year.

Regarding the t-shirts, there are a lot of online producers and shippers who can probably accommodate. I use Snorgtees a lot, and transport stuff north across the border when I visit the Motherland. So, if you need anything, you let me know and I will see what I can do.

Thanks! And oh I know, and told her as much. She's just not a very internet/computer savvy person so I might need to take matters into my own hands and order something.

Many places make unisex tees. Most of mine are technically 'for guys', but they're unisex. They usually look better on me than on my husband, so I tend to not complain too much there.

In all seriousness, having made clothing and such forever... 'men's tee' is unisex in all but name from most companies.

This is still stupid and frustrating, yes, but not necessarily for the reason of 'this doesn't come in girl' in many cases.

Being a smuggler is sort of side thing for me. I'm not going all Han Solo on folks, but now you know why I like vests, white shirts, slacks, and boots, all at the same time.

It's when I get long-sleeved versions that the real chaos starts.

I Kickstart RPGs. Not a bunch but more than a few.

One of them was the 7th Sea Kickstarter. Over a year ago. And I'm still getting new stuff from it. This is by far the absolute best Kickstarter I've ever been a part of.

I'm disappointed that the 7th Sea Board Game didn't hit its (huge) $40k goal, but John Wick and the rest of his crew is absolutely owning this property in amazing ways.
