Just got an offer on a new job, giving my 2 weeks notice tomorrow. I will miss my little boss and my other coworkers, and will have to work a little longer but will still get benefits, but no more being ruled by cross sales and survey nps score hell.
Hooray! I'm hoping to join you in new job hopefully better bliss.

The Satanic Temple.
Now that I'm registered with them, I get their emails. They have so much going on to try and make the world better.
The Protect Children Project. They erected a billboard in Springtown Tx, because an assistant principal /spanked/ two teenage girls. Spanked teenage girls. Yes, it's against the school rules. But that's against common sense, and I can honestly say if any male authority figure had tried that shit with me back in the day, I'd have hit back. (and I can say with fair certainty my parents would have supported me on that). But the superintendent tried to get the policy changed (and be retroactive) to protect the guy.
Yeah. Thanks to @Wizz for reminding me this awesomeness of people exists. Hail Satan.

I've enjoyed every song on my 'Discover Weekly' on Spotify so far this week.
(look sometimes it's the small things)

OMFG I got reassigned to a different age group (after I was asked), since that is where the center needed the stable coverage. So instead of preschoolers (who i love), I get to play and cuddle babies and young toddlers all day (People who know me RL also know that this puts me over the moon!!!) I think my stress level just went down again.

@JinShei Tom Lehrer. Autocorrect is not your friend.

@Grayson It is his lesser-known cousin. Don't judge me, bitch.

Listen, the strange women lying in ponds distributing swords have spoken. It's not a perfect system of government but it's been proven to work.
Girl, 8, pulls a 1,500-year-old sword from a lake in Sweden.
-
@Arkandel They spoke two years ago, in fact.

Snow!!!!!!!
We go massive snow coming and it might stop the fires!

I decided to stop being a burnout non-joiner and get in the ring by joining my company's Movember team. 60 miles in 30 days starting Nov 1st which is going to force me to climb out of my Covid Sad Pile of Cheezits and run more.
My dad died of neuroendochrine prostate cancer (it's sadly pretty aggressive) and it feels good to do something active in his memory that spares someone his fate.

Covid Sad Pile of Cheezits
There is nothing sad about Cheezits. Especiay the thin, snappy cheddar sour cream and onion ones.
Nobody can be sad with those in their mouth.
-
I love Cheezits but it's entirely the case that I might love them too much.

<eyes the cheezit box she's eating out of IRL>
I don't feel attacked. Nope
Good on getting out and moving though!!

Been writing poetry lately.
It's something I used to love doing when I was a teenager, and then I think at some point I stopped because I decided it wasn't all that cool and I was embarrassed of seeming angsty or edgy or emo or whatever. Even though like, maybe I had a reason to be feeling this way, and having this form of expression wasn't just cathartic for me, but a skill I could've nurtured and kept developing.
As an adult, realising some of my friends write poetry and feeling some pangs of jealousy towards them for their lack of shame in their obvious talent, and wondering if I could still be as good as they are if I hadn't shunned this hobby out of self-consciousness, I have some regrets. And even for a while after realising that, I still just kept insisting I'm not good at poetry, and that I don't want to waste my time or theirs with subpar underdeveloped attempts to change that.
It's very freeing to let go of that. Turns out this is something I enjoy, regardless of whether it's "good", and prose doesn't have to be my only form of creative expression.
