The kiddo i have agonized the most over as far as worrying about a last minute oh shit rally as far as school goes not being enough...just got accepted into the university he was most interested in as well as one other. He was pretty depressed thinking he didn't (his brother got accepted like within days of application all the schools brother applied to and he thought because that didn't happen for /him/ it meant a rejection.)
While my teens at home have been doing okayish during this year, honestly they too are fatigued/on edge/fighting off depression and stress, so having this boost and peace of mind has been very dramatic for him.
Don't love the fact that we will be getting 3 college bills next year, but I am happy for my older three and for my seniors who each have several options now.

Falling back in love with a band you burned out on years ago. It's nice.
ETA: Laughing when I realize the album I am listening to for the first time in ages, was the car trip soundtrack for the time period mentioned in the Maine thread with @insomniac7809

Every day when I wake up, my cat runs in to cuddle and purr at me.
It's nice having someone who is happy to see me awake.

Me: A sodastream? wtf is this crap. Worst gift ever. It's the thought that counts /I guess/.
Me (later that day): 3 liters of sodastream should be enough for one day right? Haha. Jk. I'm making another one. God I really need to pee
(Fucking love my sodastream)

I've been wanting one of these for ages. I love carbonated drinks but I know soda is bad for me....but not cuz of the carbonation. And most of the flavored water shit is twice to three times as expensive!

Woo. Stimulus checks are out. Just got mine today!

Someone called me brave today.
I think they mean "too pissed off to know when to keep my mouth shut", but I'll take it.

I hate snow. I hate it so much. 26F in Austin is just wrong.
That said.
I love adaptive all wheel drive.
And seeing kids making snowmen and throwing snowballs was p damn heartwarming. -

@auspice And here I am, in what is usually one of the snowiest places in the country... and there's nothing. We've had practically no snow.

I've been hearing this sort of stuff from so many people today.
@Darren as someone who grew up in Rockville and Laurel (former as a kid, latter as a teen): this is exactly like some MD winter bs. Freezing rain all night, snow all day so far. It's gross out there.
Unfortunately, this is a southern state. We have no salt trucks, no plows, etc. So it's just all that much worse. The only reason I went out to begin with is my power went out for a while and I didn't want to sit in a cold, dark apartment.

So like if you are in the Seattle area (or maybe even beyond) and do grocery shopping at QFC it might be work checking out today, mine had giant spiral sliced hams on sale for 67 cents per pound. I don't shop a lot in the meat section these days but when I rolled by that I said "whaaaaaaaaaaaat" apparently a lot louder than I intended and made the two burly dudes at the meat counter giggle out loud. A holiday sized ham for less than 8 bucks!!

Razer is making masks and I want one.

Due to my job, I qualify as a Phase 1A eligible for the vaccine in my state.
As someone who works in a lab constantly handling 'Rona samples, there is a certain relief to that.

Being asked by friends to read The Best Man for a recorded performance. Even though I never looked at the script until today.
And it was spectacular.
