Welcome to the Euphoria!

@faraday Not more disruptive than someone's connected character suddenly getting idlenuked, I think. Or just going "inactive" and no longer being played and leaving the players to decide whether they are still around in the background or what is happening with them. I think that I'll bake into the theme the idea that some people have either neurological or physiological issues with coming out of cryogenic sleep so sometimes people need to go back into it off and on throughout the trip to get their bodies used to it.
Kinda like slowly thawing someone back out.

Well I'd agree that unceremoniously idle nuking people can be disruptive too, but I don't think that letting the players decide what's happening to them is disruptive. Quite the contrary, it allows those affected by the departure to work with staff to sort out a resolution that works best for ongoing storylines. Whether that means turning the person into a background NPC, or recruiting another player to take them over, or killing them off, or whatever. Anything that doesn't leave the other players hanging just because somebody left the game.
Having a built-in thematic reason why folks might go back into cryosleep is a nice potential 'out' for idle folks. You just might want to consider not making it automatic.

Hmm, fair. I might have it be automatic for feature positions, but let players decide with a "last will" for non-features.

Time to brush up on my Riker maneuver.

I have a website and a game, I need to sit down and hammer out a bunch of stuff. But things are preceding! People are welcome to log in but I would caution you to only make OOC bits for chatting right now. Do not start any character ideas until we have more theme and stuff nailed down.
-
Perhaps include a required 'this is what happens if idle too long section in chargen?
Now I have to learn FS3, rabble rabble. Maybe. Depends on how weird is too weird.

If you know how World of Darkness stats work, then FS3 should be fairly simple to pick up. It's the rest of the code that will shock and amaze you, and make you never want to set foot on an average WoD game ever again.

roll player1/ability vs player2/ability
You learned it!

@friarzen Do you know CSS? Or if there's anyone out there who knows CSS would be willing to help me with the CSS for formatting for the page. I'm about to tear my hair out trying to get the text left-justified on the front page.
-
@Cobaltasaurus I do, yes, although, every web developer will ALWAYS refer you to:
That said, using chrome, right click on the text you want to move and select "inspect", what element are you working on/with?
-
@Cobaltasaurus If it's the bit I think you mean, try:
p.frontpage { text-align: left; }

I helped her fix the part she was most frustrated with. It was in a class called "jumbotron". But I think she is still interested in someone to help with all the other style tidbits.
-
@sibermaus Yup, all the p.frontpage are inside .jumbotron. I suggested the way I did because it would leave other things (like the picture) still centered, but changing the alignment on .jumbotron itself definitely handles it too!

I gotcha. I haven't seen the full structure of the css file. Good on ya.

Going to recommend the Ares forum. @faraday is super-cool about helping.

Go to the discord too, a lot of folks have delved the elements of css and may already know what just what to do in the custom css. ETA: Ares discord that is.

Sorry folks I was down for the count with a migraine yesterday. Thank you all for the help and direction. A couple of folks have offered some stuff privately and I think we'll get moving again shortly.
I need to do some RL stuff but then I'll be hammering away at theme and getting things out together for most of today.

Do I need any more policies than these? Does anyone have any questions about the "rules" or "policies" of the game?
-
I would expand the section about non-consensual sexual RP to mention various acts of harassment, and a statement to the effect of, "This list is intended to be illustrative, not comprehensive. Staff will take steps to protect the community from offenses not specifically listed here: the spirit of the law is more important than the letter."
