If you get one of their smaller bottles of base -- you can use gloss or matte, it just has to be one of the clear ones -- and put about 2 teaspoons of the Martha Stewart glitter in it, you're mostly done. (You may need to pour off a small amount of the base into another container, depends on how full the bottle is.)
It's just that that mix needs to sit for a few months to bleed like whoa. It'll come out as a glazy mucky grey with flecks of glitter in opaque black and weird greenish-orange clear, and it will look horrible and scary -- but that's exactly what you want.
All you do when it reaches that point is squirt some of the holo liquid into the bottle. You need less of it than you'll think. It'll give you enough to last the rest of your life (or as gifts for friends, since that's way more than a bottle's worth).
It won't be completely opaque, but if you put it over a single basecoat of black (even a normally streaky black), it will be.
I ended up getting a pyrex measuring cup to use to mix, since they're easy to clean, and a 'paint stirrer' for model paint that's essentially for mixing up paints in the tiny glass bottles miniature painters use. The upside to that is that you can use it to stick right into their base bottles to mix in-bottle, too, if you're not getting too crazy with it. Bonus: they're cheap and fast! I usually just use the pyrex if I need to mix a variety of pigments first/also.

I don't know how I missed this board before. Or maybe I saw it and forgot, I have swiss cheese for memory. I'm all about crafts! I just finished my first self-designed scoodie! Scarf/Hoodie. Someone asked if I could make a zombie, since I usually do cute little animal ones. So I gave it a shot;
I am super proud of it. Especially the dangly eyeball.

I wish i had more energy to cook, but been going well so far. A thermomix makes the boring parts easier though.
Tonight was an awesome success. If for whatever reason you cannot have normal pasta spaghetti squash works wonderfully, I couldn't really tell the difference between it and angel hair pasta. Also made vegetable spaghetti sauce, which was cheaty as I started with a jar, but it worked out great.
And finally a choc-berry smoothy. Even with all organic, hippy, unsweetened, low fat etc ingredients it was tasty.
Also got some breakfast muffins made for the week ahead. So all good.

I have this strange fascination with taking apart something and refinishing it. It began with an old table in my basement that I really liked, but it was horribly beaten up. Then my dad's wooden bench that had been sitting outside, refinished that.
So it's become an accidental hobby of sorts. I have a project for a small table I'm currently working on in the garage when it's not cold as balls outside.
And like so many others, I cook, but I wouldn't say I cook good, more like 'alright'. This mostly because I wanted to find a way to do something nice for the SO since she's an amazing cook. What I have found is that I enjoy cooking more when I'm doing it for my friends, especially my DnD group, who most of them stare blankly at a kitchen.

3D printing is dope.
A sad amount of the printable models on the Internet are things for your 3D printer but it makes sense in the context of RepRap. There are also a lot of available models that aren't feasible on consumer printers unless you've spent the big bucks for an STL (e.g. Form1) printer. The bulk of the rest of the models are toys. Not having a kid this is of limited use.
It's currently really fiddly as a hobby. This is definitely not a turnkey technology. The pipeline from 3D model to physical object is entirely in one direction. Software converts a 3D model into instructions for the printer on how to move. "Move left 0.06mm, extrude 0.013mm of filament, move forward 0.02mm..." There's no feedback to indicate that everything is going according to plan. The part can become dislodged from the bed and the printer will continue merrily along, extruding molten plastic into free space. Or, you can run out of filament and the printer will keep going, oblivious.
However, pretty much any problem I can measure with calipers I can solve with the 3D printer, regardless of whether or not it's a good idea. I've made replacement parts for things, upgrades for things, and customized gifts for people.

That would be so adorable. I also have a new yarn I adore (well, two). It's 70% wool from baby alpacas and it is just the softest, squishiest thing in the world. I guess I know what I can make baby stuff out of.

$600. Filament's about $25/kg and falling. Don't get a kit to assemble yourself to save money if it's your first printer: they calibrate them after assembly which minimizes the chances of having to tear your hair out when it's not working properly.For some people these things can go net profit really quickly. As big as cosplay has gotten (and to a lesser extent furry) the ability to make custom, one-of-a-kind costume parts can make for better product and demand higher prices.

@Sponge Seriously thanks for the advice!! I just want one for fun. So profit isn't something I'm going to convince myself will ever happen. One step closer to tiny unicorns.
