I just made a character on the game, and so far everyone's been very welcoming, friendly and inclusive. I'm Gertie there (yes a recycled name!). Feel free to poke me for RP, I loves me my RP.

@TNP Actually no! She's on a three day hike to the second drop ship and thus not in camp. I do hear where she's headed though is going to be pretty bad, just in a die by violence rather than sickness way. Should be fun...

We have opened Ark Adult (and non-Delinquent teen) apps, as well as apps for (N)PC Mountain Men. The Mountain Men will generally be short-term characters for the purpose of providing RP for those who have chosen to have their Delinquent characters captured by Mount Weather, although if IC circumstances lead to a way for them to survive and integrate into the rest of the playerbase, they can certainly become long-term characters. If you were waiting to check the game out because you didn't want to play a teenage criminal or a Grounder, now's the time to stop by.

If you're interested in playing an adult, you now have multiple options, Grounders, Mountain Men, and Arkers. With regard to Arkers, there's also plenty of built in opportunities for hooks with the Delinquents. I know at least one person is interested in having a PC parent if possible and others may be interested as well.

So I just want to note, for anyone who was curious about the game, or had to take a break from the game for RL and was worried they wouldn't be able to catch up with the plot line, we are now official in a "season break" for about two months. It's a really good time for new characters to come on board. There will still be events, but at a much slower pace, allowing for more time to absorb the setting and/or get reaquainted. Familiarity with the tv series "The 100" is not required, but at least watching the first few episodes is encouraged.

The first two seasons have now played out, resulting in the combined forces of the Coalition and the survivors of the Ark's Alpha Station capturing the Mountain. Cage Wallace was captured and executed by the Death of a Thousand Cuts and now Mount Weather's resources are ripe for the taking.

There are of course, still challenges. Indra kom Trikru awaits proof that the Ark is not responsible for a dropship landing wiping out an entire village of seven hundred people - and if no one is handed over for this crime, then the leadership of the Ark may have to stand for the punishment. The Commander of the Coalition, Lexa, no doubt has an agenda involving how the Ark's former inhabitants, now called Skaikru, will fit in. After the destruction of their village, the residents of Coesbur are rebuilding in a new location - directly across the lake from Camp Jaha. And the violent Ice Nation is restless again, and may yet cause more trouble for everyone.

                Characters available for play:

Arkers/Skaikru - Delinquents (members of the 100) are no longer available for play, however any concept from age 18 up is feasible. Engineers, mechanics, med-techs, doctors, nurses, food techs, agro-techs, hydro-techs, recycling specialists, members of the militia and/or guard, the list of possibilities is pretty considerable. Your character would be considered as "always having been there", as often happens in tv shows when new characters are introduced.

Grounders/Trikru - Any concept from age 18 up is feasible. Warriors, makers (crafters), farmers, traders, healers, scouts, animal handlers, Seconds (apprentices) just about any kind of "natural" society position is viable. Keep in mind that most RP will settle around the village of New Coesbur, so while your character can be from any of the current in-game Grounder locations (Coesbur, Tondc, or Polis).

Mountain Men/Maunon - The civilians and any soldiers of the Mountain who surrendered during the invasion have been left alone, but are still suffering from the radiation sickness that results when they come into contact with the outside world. Capturing Grounders and Arkers to harvest their marrow is no longer an option, and many didn't feel this was an acceptable solution in the first place. Now the Ark is determined to help find a cure for these people so they can live as they should, under the sky. IMPORTANT NOTE: rp locations are limited for these characters.

While the Ice Nation/Azgeda are not available for play at this time, it is possible that they will come open in the next few months. Additionally, staff now allows two alts in each faction - one combatant, one non-combatant.

Head over and take a look. Staff and players are friendly folks who are happy to help you.

I'm not sure if this has been shared on other parts of this board, so apologies if this is repetitive but I thought I'd mention it here.

The game runners have elected to close The 100. The last day for the game will be this coming Friday, September 16th.

                  Just FYI.

Bummer. It's a theme there was obviously a lot of enthusiasm for, though I can see why it'd be difficult to pull off long-term in RP.

Yeah, it's sad to see a game die before its time. The game runners mentioned their observations and reasons for closing, which boiled down to a mix of staffing failures to recognize and correct problems before it was too late, theme and cooperation problems, and rushing through plot.

No mention if it might ever reboot or try again but my sense is that it's not likely, at least under the current owners.

I made a post detailing some of my hang-ups about the game in-game, as I had thrown in the towel a week or so before the closure was announced by staff (for apparently similar reasons to mine).

All the same, everything positive that I said about the game on this thread stands. 10/10, would play a game by these staffers again.

I'll admit, I'm disappointed. I'm kind of shy when I start new games, and I was just starting to get really comfortable there. 😞

I'm sure they'll make another game where their characters star in every plot and similarly run it into a quagmire of nonsense when they get bored of being the Big Damn Heroes.

@Kestrel Nope, but I know people who played there who stuck it out 'for the RP with their friends' who would complain to me constantly about the nonsense going on there. If you'll check back with what I posted previously in this thread I believe I said as much.

I also played briefly at SerenityMUSH and Firan, so I can say with confidence that the word I got from The 100 was in line with what I've experienced on married-couple run games.

I'm with @Kestrel, I had fun on this game. It wasn't perfect, but I really didn't get the sense that Staff was out to play with just themselves and their friends. I did think that it'd be better if one of the staffers didn't play quite such a leader style character, but on the other hand every time someone else pushed for a different direction it seemed to me he was more than willing to let them. It was less a question of take all the spotlight than just anyone push the story.

Anyway, @Kestrel, you were fun. See if I don't come across you elsewhere. Currently the only place I'm playing is Arx, and its still in development.

                                    This.

The game can be as fun as all of these people say it is, but the two who ran this game have a history of opening mushes for themselves and inviting other players so that it isn't stale 1on1 rp, place their chars into the starring roles, and ultimately when they get bored or things aren't going as smoothly as their 'this game was always about us entertaining ourselves' plan intended, they show no loyalty to their players and cut them loose.

Because, hey, this was always about them having a play space, yanno?

I feel bad for @Cupcake , who played support engine and cheerleader for these guys and just got shown how important the players of their game really were.

                                      Good community.

                                      Poor Leadership.

Not the first time, won't be the last. Until people start realizing this is the status quo for the dynamic duo it'll continue. Not bad people, just not people who should try to run something single handed. But this is their MO and has been for years upon years. Eventually the community will learn.

                                      J/K, the community won't learn.

People sticking around in MU* others detested, 'sticking it out with friends' in a more or less entrenched sandbox while trying to ignore the levels of toxicity around them.
