I want to steal @surreality to make a wiki. At best I can do is, sometimes, make a table. Most of the time it breaks.

You know the pans! I am trying to recruit @Sunny into helping Cori get the position!

RE: Dust to Dust (Formerly the nWoD grenade thread)
I am excited for the Sin-Eater aspect being in it. I love that sphere.

RE: Kushiel's Debut
Just so it doesn't seem like I am ignoring @Echx... we switched to pages so we're not spamming here.

RE: Kushiel's Debut
@Echx Oh man. I think Corinne has burned her bridges with your char. She has the Hopeless Flirt flaw.. which totally worked against her when she met Reynard. And she is a tease and a flirt. Alas, I guess I'll have to write off the potential of getting the Ducy available in Namarre on her. Life is a game for Corinne, except the few thigns she takes serious.

RE: Kushiel's Debut
I want to play a Duc but I think the available place(s) are in areas my alts are in.
Also.. Alyssum House and Le Blanc people would be awesome. I want a PC Dowayne, damnit.

I promised @Rook I would help with his theme stuff in return for his coding brain or I'd offer. I think I am about tapped on how far I can expand myself.

RE: Incentives
We're not looking to have anyone justify anything except getting a magical item. And even then it doesn't even have to be a scene unless they want it too.
For reference: https://sites.google.com/site/vahlahcity/theme/magic/item-plots
The social part, I've still been pondering. It could be used to shoulder tap players that are highly involved in helping expand things. And for that I might have an option of things the 'kudos' is for. Like..
+cheer Thirstan=Plot
It would generate a +job or store on an object with a note of
Thirstan got a Cheer for running a plot.
Or along those lines. Maybe not that exactly but, you get the idea?
Re STing.. I /might/ see about having a list of mini-plots that tie into the current main plot that STers can run/suggest changes too so there is less work on them. And keep some vague ones in case they want to have details of their own.
Just to note.. I'm not a huge fan of the PRP thing. BUT I also don't want to have staff over worked. this might be because I've never been much of a WoD fan.

RE: Incentives
Just to help for where I'm coming from for my place...
We're not going to have XP. Earning dots/levels/whatever for skill ups and the likes will be done with a sport of tier system. Everyone will get X number of training points a week to put towards the next level of their skill/attribute/whatever. @Rook said it is like EVE when I was explaining to him on what I wanted. He can probably explain it better than me. My co-admin and I were discussing how to make it work and it turned to discussion on incentives.
Also, for offering XP and the likes.. it always feels like you're bribing people to like your theme to me. Maybe it's because I am from a world where it is not WoD and such.
BUT a more OOC recommendation that doesn't overly give people leaps and bounds over others is good. Firan had their Community Points.. which was a pain in the ass to earn but I think they had the right idea. I just wouldn't require any sort of explaination and have it automatically given. I'll probably discuss it with my coder and my co-admin t see what they think of that.

RE: Incentives
I'm in the party that players shouldn't be able to advance their chars for doing things for others. It is mildly annoying because they are getting oodles of XP when it doesn't have to do with their char.
-
RE: Incentives
It's the same for me. Most of the time the people who do it for incentives aren't really putting much effort in. I would rather see people who WANT to do STing and the likes over people who do it for extra points.
-
RE: Incentives
Yes. For things not commonly found in games.. I'm all for incentives. Villains, doing things that would be considered minority, etc. Not so much just for running events or participating in plots.
-
RE: Incentives
Yeah. Or 'If you run 1 event/prpr/whatever' you get 1 XP. THings like that. Or 'IF you make a wiki you get XP!' Whatever on things like that.
Like I said.. for me I think incentives are good for things like 'Play a villian and get bonus X thing' or 'Join this family and get a bonus Y', etc. THings that don't get many people in them.

Incentives
Okay..
A friend and I have been discussing incentives. The said friend seems to think incentives are needed for a new game, and in general. I am of the opposite opinion. I don't think they are really overly needed. Maybe for races/families/whatever that have little to no people, to encourage people to them.
HOWEVER I don't think they are needed for running plots, RPing, etc. It is one of the things I find that causes the landslide of excessive XP and what not. And the people 'trying to cheat the system' coughspidercough.

RE: RenoMUSH - The Biggest Little Game on the Net
You keep asking for RP when I am unavailable! THough.. I am seriously considering going vampire on Mikaela. So.. if you want a blood doll/someone to eventually turn.. feel free to hassle me on her.

RE: Character Woes
My backgrounds are usually pretty vague and open so I can make connections with people. and be all 'That totally coulda happened!' or 'We totally coulda known each other!'
I also make my initial personalities for my chars pretty cookie cutter. Then let them develop as they may IC.
I always have a vague idea of what I want my char to be but sometimes what they do gets away from me and they develop differently.
Also, I have had characters I spent time making and figuring I'd enjoy the concept.. it just didn't click no matter the effort I put in. I am more inclined to say that if it's not working for you make something new. I am also a altaholic.

RE: Staffing Philosophy: Action vs Procedure
@JaySherman I don't like the 'don't be a dick' rule for that precise reason. On my place I got 'Respect - Respect each other. That is it. We don't expect you to be friends or even get along. All we expect if for you to respect each other and try avoiding creating a toxic environment.' and 'Player Issues - If you have issues with another player try resolving it before complaining to staff to solve it. You can ask staff to mediate while you kick, scream, yell, or whatever you need to do to get to a point where you can be civil to each other and find a way to enjoy the game. Even if it means avoiding each other.'
I might reword some of those. I don't want people to feel like they can't talk to staff and the likes if there's issues but I also don't want instant complains of 'X did this and this to me but I made no effort to find common grounds.'
