      @Cirno And you think

      | I can't tell if you are trolling and to what extent! That is tremendously well done, bravo. 🙂

      means

      | I was making shit up, how I was trolling, and how I am certainly not attractive enough to draw attention from people or be leched on by white women.

      ?

I stand by my statement though, I can't tell if you are trolling. For your sake I hope you are but either way it doesn't matter to me.

No, I was talking about the other thread where you told me how I was making shit up, how I was trolling, and how I am certainly not attractive enough to draw attention from people or be leched on by white women.

Would you quote me the post where I said all of those things, please?

Ha! That'll teach Arkandel. He was pretending to disbelieve that I am comely and good looking.

Hrm? I said no such thing.

I said I don't care what color or gender you are, and I still don't. What possible difference does that make?

Can I call myself a beautiful Japanese woman, then? Surely you won't mind, because all that matters is our opinions.

That is exactly right. I don't care how you identify yourself - least of all on an internet forum.

All I care about is what you're saying. At the moment what you are saying is making me giggle. 🙂

I declare my race, gender, and sexuality frequently to avoid mixups.

I have no intention of declaring my race, gender and sexuality so I can enter a discussion. None of these things should matter, only the contents of our opinions.

The act of preventing white people from entering a place based on the color of their skin is the same thing the black's fought to get rid of. Turning around and doing the same things (like your "White people harassed blacks, so...it's not bad when black folks do it to whites" suggestion above) helps absolutely no one.

That's kind of relative though. To give you a counter-example I took exception a few years ago when I was told I wouldn't necessarily be welcome at a lesbian joint, as I couldn't understand why. I'm not homophobic, I have no issues with gay rights and it's not like I'd go in and stare at people or act weird, so how come?

But there are places people go to feel comfortable. It's not about me, it's about them.

There is still a line to be drawn somewhere but it's not probably prudent to draw it in favor of the more privileged groups in existence. It's what it is.

Homogeneous groups become echo chambers of stale ideas and beliefs. Without constant exposure to outside influence, chances for empathy or understanding of those outside the group is slim.

But what do we stand to gain from understanding white people? How does it meaningfully impact our lives?

      Fiiine, I'll get into this.

... It might help to do away with notions of 'us' and 'them'?

Re: Star Wars: It's weird. I know Age of Alliances has fast forwarded to Ep 7, but they want to include as much of their post Ep 6 RP as possible, but have been wishy-washy on doing it all. Granted, the movie did literally just come out, so now that the Headwiz has seen it, maybe it'll get sorted out better.

That sounds risky. We don't know much about what's happening in Episode 7's brave new galaxy and what we do know is based on a handful of specific canon characters (and even they are still pretty mysterious). Even the political climate is largely unrevealed.

Which means a game will either need to improvise a whole lot, most likely leading to a completely home-grown setting - and at this point why even base it on the new movie? - or hogtie everything to reveals yet to be given which will bottleneck the MU* in a lot of ways.

See, I really like the idea of Jar-Jar being Supreme Leader Snoke for two reasons.

      1. It would show George Lucas didn't botch the prequels as badly as most of us think, which I very much want to believe. The idea he meant for JJB to be the true 'phantom menace' all along - and some people have broken movie stills frame by frame to show that he did, just very subtly - would be ingenious.

      2. It would work tremendously in the sense that Snoke isn't just some random new guy we've never heard of. Sure, he could (also?) be Darth Plagueis but otherwise we've already seen how closely some tropes are being replayed in the new trilogy - the abandoned child on a desert planet, a droid carrying clues meant for the Resistance, etc. So mirroring how much Yoda was underestimated by Luke for his appearance in a Sith could be great.

Plus I can't wait to hear the groans at the theatre at a reveal like that. 🙂

In case anyone doesn't know about the Darth Binks theory, which could explain who Supreme Leader Snoke is. 🙂

I don't really get it because, why not go play on Shang? I guess that it could be having an established theme, or you've probably got a lot of people who ARE on Shang but are eager enough to spread it anywhere they can get a login, I dunno.

That's a question I often ask and there's no real answer. My best guess is people don't want to think of themselves as the kind who're mainly in it for the TS and/or they want to find partners they can 'seduce' to their hawt kinks (without always checking if they're okay with the other person) who don't usually do that sort of thing.

      Or something.

So far the only Jedi we've seen be in a relationship (in the movies, mind you -- Mara Jade is still <3) was Anakin, and love of Padme drove him to atrocity and desperation and all that. I think there would be a nerd eruption if a Jedi shacked up with someone.

Correlation does not equal causation. Unless the Jedi Council can show Darth Maul etc also fell to the Dark Side because they had the hots for a chick, they might as well blame it on sand since it's coarse and rough and irritating, and it gets everywhere.

Also Obi-Wan is for some reason very underrated when it comes to what a badass he was. The guy took out every damn Sith he ever fought - from a certain point of view, including his last fight.
