    • RE: Regarding administration on MSB

I don't like using it either, but a whole flood of people tried to insist that I should use it.

So I ask that maybe I be excused for being a touch gunshy at this point. I'm sitting here right now feeling that this is a bit of a trap.

I don't want to use it. I'm lazy and forgetful. But it launched a whole discussion into how a number (not all) of people felt that maybe mods should tag official statements. So I did.

      And yet here we are.

So I won't use it moving forward. But if it turns into a repeat of the first go 'round, I won't be surprised. Hurt, but not surprised.

It seems like, every time there is a question of "should we moderate this or not?"
      You guys are choosing yes.

Well, obviously. All the times we discuss and choose 'no,' you guys don't see it.

That's kind of how it works.

Some of y'all love to flag posts, for example.

    • RE: Characters You Enjoyed Playing

I loved Thorne on Fallcoast. She was my Detective who ultimately joined TFV.
She began as a Mortal who knew nothing about the supernatural (despite having a Ghost Ally; always fun having Sin Eaters around :D).

One of my favorite nWoD scenes, to this day, was her first encounter with anything supernat. Case leads her, another cop, and a CSI to this shack. They encounter a man-sized cockroach. This thing tries to get freaky with her CSI. Thorne decides, well... to kick it in the head.

Now I knew my dice for that roll would be back, but it's what Thorne would do. So I rolled it. I didn't just fail. I drama failed. So Thorne tried to curb stomp this thing while shouting "NO MEANS NO" and fell through the fucking floor into a whole swarm of cockroaches.

      Best moment ever.

I mean, she had a lot of them.

She basically had perma ๐Ÿ˜ face, even once she fully accepted the supernatural as a thing. But she was that person who would have your back, no matter what. And my shit dice meant it would generally be pretty hilariously ridiculous through the course of it. She was fun to play and the people I was playing with in Law at the time (Brodie, Tucker, Mike, Dash, Kate...) made it awesome, too.

How scary of a drunk are you? Cause that can makes a difference, I have sworn to things that are th polar opposite of what I believe to avoid pissing off drunk scary folks.

      I don't think I'm a scary drunk.
      I am a quiet drunk.

I tend to nestle into a corner of the couch and drink and watch everyone. Apparently it's not easy to tell I am drunk because people will frequently shove more drinks into my hand, declaring they want to 'get' me drunk or 'see' me drunk.

...I tend to end up very, very wasted by the end of parties.

You know that whole 'standing in the bathroom, gripping the sink, and staring in the mirror while you think 'oh god how am I this drunk?' moment? That moment and I are very familiar with one another.

No, no, there's just this delicate balance of a couple drinks plus just the right amount of weed where I stop worrying about 'oh god cooking is hard' and I just... cook. I want to feed the world. Everything in the kitchen becomes full of possibility.

@auspice I've eaten some weird shit when I'm drunk. Maybe it's just the alcohol telling you that your cooking is good?

This has been corroborated by non-drinkers at parties.

There's a similar correlation with weed, alcohol, and cooking ability.

... at least there is for me.

I have gotten report of a supposed "MSB plot" to take down this game. I don't know if there is any truth, whatsoever, to this. I don't know if it was a joke, if it was a few people trolling and when they got found out they decided to point fingers this way to try to cover their own ass, or what.

      WTF?

Are there details available to offer about this? My tendency is to side-eye these claims heavily and roll-northernly-eye the 'MSB rule' and such that staff has shown tendency to do thus far, but I'd hate to be rolling my eyes northward unfairly.

(I am not plotting against this game, personally. I do not play there and do not care, apart from the motion of my eyes.)

I don't have any details, no, but I just want to put my foot down before any rumors start or get out of control.

Someone came to me, upset, because they had been implicated (despite not being involved, true or false). Like I said: I don't know if it's even true. But I just wanted to speak up before anyone tried to get anything out there.

It's entirely possible someone saw the recent discussion in which there had been some chatter about 'MSB takes down games' and thought they could use it in their favor. MSB doesn't take down games. MSB won't take down games. If specific individuals want to be assholes, that's on them, but we (the board) don't have any part in it.

@auspice Wouldn't there need to be some sort of posts to try and enlist all of MSB into any such plot for said plot to exist?

Like I said, I don't know if there's any truth to it (my guess is it was a troll(s) who needed to point fingers). I presume there'd need to be some sort of enlistment.

But I just want to make it clear we don't condone any such if it exists.

What I do know is that no one on the moderation staff here condones any sort of behavior in regards to 'taking down' games, trolling games, or otherwise misbehaving on them. And we certainly don't appreciate anyone doing so in MSB's name.

This kitten has been the bane of my existence. Like, I know kittens. They're little terrors. I've hand-reared so many. AJ goes... above and beyond. He has frustrated me to the point of tears a few times this past week. He has broken things that are very important to me.

At one point, I was cleaning up the broken shards of one and he promptly ran into the bathroom and pulled down the shower curtain. As I was trying to put it up? He ran up my back and leapt onto the curtain to drag it back down.

If I don't lock him out of the room at night, he will climb on my face... or the window above my head. If I do lock him out, he spends the whole night clawing at the door and yowling.

I have given honest consideration to surrendering him back to the humane society, except he has bonded to me, so I know it'd be traumatizing for him. And he is so difficult I honestly don't think he'd make it with any other family.

And please, don't give me any patronizing 'oh kittens are hard.' I can train cats. Like literally train cats to follow simple commands and hand signals. I know kittens can be hard and little terrors.

AJ is leagues beyond any cat I have ever, ever dealt with and I am at my wit's end some days.

Every fucking upper respiratory virus I get, or influenza even if itโ€™s not got any other upper respiratory symptoms invariably kicks my asthma into gear. I feel like I got kicked in the chest by a horse.

I'm right there with you. The flu that went through a couple weeks ago has left me clutching both daily and emergency inhaler. That shit's bull, I swear.

The flu itself didn't affect my lungs at all, but a few days later........

I just bought this for the gift exchange at work.

(One of those where you steal gifts. I know in some areas it's called white elephant, some call it dirty santa, etc etc.)

I'm not sure whether it was a bad idea or a great idea.

I'm wearing yoga pants and a tank top at work today.

Which is good, considering I walked a mile and a half in 80'F to my bus today.

So glad we have a hella lax dress code. I'd die if I had to do my commute in some sort of business casual bullshit.

I've given up on ever, ever wearing button downs. I had one, once, from New York & Company. I don't know how they did it. It was some sort of voodoo magic, I swear.

Because I, too, am 5'3", overweight, and am currently in a 36HH.

It makes me really sad, too, because gdi I wanna wear flannel in the fall. (Stop laughing.)

I left the asshole professor of my last class into crackhead professor this month.

I've been in touch with the other guy I consider 'top of the class' with me and we're both just completely lost.

This guy has weird deadlines. The 'school week' usually ends on Sundays; this guy ends stuff on Fridays. We have 4 assignments due tomorrow. Yes, day after Thanksgiving.

This is a 'project & portfolio' class. You usually have one every few months. Every previous one I've had (this is the 5th) you take a previous story or script, revise it, while also working on some other project (a new story, one month it was a portfolio website, etc etc).

This month... fuck, I don't even know what's going on. We're... revising story, doing some 'webisode' script and... uhm... ten billion essays? Maybe? I can't make heads or tails of it. Neither can any of my classmates that I've reached out to. And emailing the professor has been barely helpful.

He barely explains things. Every assignment is worth 2-5% of our grade. One assignment, worth 5%, has 4 essays attached alone.

      ...this is a month-long class.

And some of this stuff is so vague it's just guess work and some of us emailing each other putting puzzle pieces together trying to figure out wtf he's talking about.

Thank god I have less than 6 months left until I graduate.
